@@AmpedtoGlamp A Brinkley versus a Newmar? I think you’re comparing two different lifestyles. Both are excellent choices and we’ve had trailers as well as Motorized. We’ve had dogs so Motorized works better for them, we make long trips with frequent stops and like being able to easily stop for lunch or restroom breaks without opening the trailer, so again, a motorized works for us. But if you always tow a jeep behind you, you are towing anyway so maybe a trailer and pickup isn’t a bad way to go.
I Really love the RV's presented, especially when I see a FP, and W/D area too! I loved the barn doors on the first, the huge bath on another and I need to finish the video! 👍. But I have to say that I absolutely love u two together, Such a Cool and funny couple- made me laugh and Smile with ur banter- GOOD VIBES! ♥️
We went to a used RV Fifth Wheel this time. We traded in our Keystone 2022 Arcadia for a 2018 Keystone Fuzion Toy Hauler. The older models are built so much more solid. Our cabinets are real wood. But it's all dark brown. So this gal is painting it. Curtains are going up. It's going to be more of beach theme colors. I can't stand dark wood. Carpet in the bedroom is getting ripped out. Carpet doesn't belong in the a RV
This is our home dealer, the sales team is great, but you know who's really awesome, the service department, and that almost matters more. They communicate well and have really taken care of our unit.
John, the skylight in the Brinkley is dark because it's not a skylight ;) it's an actual dome light shaped like a skylight. There's no cut out in the roof. I've heard that skylights are the highest prone area for leaks. I guess Brinkley eliminated it all together but kept the space for those that need a little extra headroom.
We have a 2021 Newmar Kountry Star 3709. The 3809 is a lot alike except our dinette and we have a couch and we have propane cooktop and we have a radius shower and we have no pantry and we don’t have the firefly control panel and no heated floors and no bunk above the driver seat and no safe. Other than that it is the same. We LOVE ours.
We bought a 2014 Winnebago Itasca Suncruiser (gas) 4 years ago. We would only want an RV build before Covid. We like Winnebago because you can always contact them to get parts/components. They even ask for the serial number so they can pull up the info for that exact unit and get you the correct parts. We have not had any issues with ours other than regular maintenance. Good luck!
I would prefer the Class A motorhome over a Fifth Wheel. The quality of all RV brands seems to have deteriorated in the past few years; whatever you decide to purchase, make sure that you hire a certified inspector to perform a thorough inspection before you actually purchase the RV.
We had fifth wheels and dually diesels for years. They are a great combo and offer a lot of space. They tow really well, too. For our retirement, we have changed to a 2021 Ventana pusher. So far love it. A lot more convenient when setting-up breaking down. The pusher is so quiet with the engine in the rear. Good luck shopping, and hope to see you guys in one of the campgrounds one day.
They may not be as big as the Canadian Rockies but the are still our beloved mountains ⛰️😊 That said, we would love to pass through the Canadian Rockies! Safe travels!
My opinion and ONLY my opinion: we’ve RV’d most of our lives. 40 years, 8 motorhomes. All had issues. The more accessories, the more slides, the more issues. But maybe because we’re experienced in the lifestyle, the problems appeared small. Hey! We had ignition wire problems while on the Oregon coast. What a great place to be stuck in a campground awaiting parts!! John/ Sherri- you’ve seen enough different rigs to know what you want and how to pick a good one. There are good quality products out there. None are trouble free. We love our 2022 Winnebago class A gas coach. Three years 45,000 miles, but family health has forced us to consider trading it in for a smaller, class C so we can be more nimble. We actually placed a deposit on a 2025 Entegra ( because Winnebago doesn’t have the layout we want). Giving up some features but life throws curveballs.. I have no doubt you will make the correct decision for your lifestyle. Be patient, you will prevail! And we did RV through Alaska. Not good for big rigs in my opinion. Thank you for the video. Good luck !
I think we are better situated this time around to purchase a quality RV. Sometimes in live you have to pivot. Hope your new Entegra does well by you. Safe travels!
As I have ranted about in the past, because of your videos and many, many others I will never own a motorized RV of any kind! Class B to A they ALL have proven to be far too problematic. I know John loves the class A's but a 5th wheel might be the way to go. If you buy a nice tow vehicle and a 5th wheel, you keep a similar footprint but don't have to pull the Jeep or anything. You just park the house and disconnect and instant freedom to explore. AND if you see a National Park with size restrictions you still have you tow vehicle to use for exploring what you can't with the 5th wheel attached just like with the Class A and Jeep. Servicing or repairing your tow vehicle is way easier as well and there have been plenty of nightmare stories about getting the vehicle repaired because they house on its back is too big and they cant fit you in the bay or whatever. The only thing the Class A has that you can't argue is the usability while on the road, especially if it has a good design where the slides don't block off all of your space when they are in. I have never driven a Class A so I cannot compare driving stability or comfort. You two have a lot of thinking to do!
Good points @BrianAz. 5th wheels are also more affordable. It might be time to try something new. Now, if we can only find something that's good quality.
We have a 2015 Winnebago class c and the quality is hard to find in their current class C. The 2013 you viewed might be a better choice from today’s offerings.
@joejoe7212 being how vague you are In your answers makes you lose all credibility but you keep being Mr. Sunshine and I'll keep taking trips and enjoying life.
Does any manufacturer build a Brinkley on a Ford or Freightliner Chassis?🤠 How much weight can you add to a Brinkley for the space (hopefully more than a Chihuahua)?
Hello guys. I just traded my 2018 toy hauler trailer for a 2019 travel trailer. I know it was over priced by $2000 but the 2025 I was interested in was sooo cheaply constructed. Hopefully the RV industry fat cats get their respect for the customer back and begin building a quality product. Hope to see you out there. Enjoy this day. Enjoy this life 😊.
Take a look at Lance or Nash before writing off all manufactures. Both of those manufactures take the build it like a tank approach. Team Chaparral (Coachman)
Team Ventana... Diesel pusher all the way. Our preference would be a used Newell Coach for the quality. We do not own one yet but the Motorcoach Store has some great prices on used Newell's. And thank you for our Amped to Glamp hat you gave us... Hint(Moose our dog) 😂
I thought they only made the large semi trailer trailers and looked them up again after your comment. Apparently they make fifth wheels and travel trailers too. Thanks for sharing!
Do yall have a truck to pull a 5th wheel? We've only had motorhomes, but I will say you experiences with the Bounder kept me away when we bought our 2024 Entegra motorhome. Anyway, get the Ventanna! (That View was way too small).
all those 5th wheels are poorly made hope you didn't get one at the opening of your tour you show the messy Foam job on the front door opening and the black sealant just slapped in place let that be a sign to you!
Why do u say that? I can't wait to one day own a Class C, not over 24 feet, sleeps 5, full kit, full bath! It will be SO much fun! And in the meantime, I may rent one to get the experience First! ♥️
What are your thoughts on the RVs we toured? Are you Team Brinkley or Team Newmar?
