Asher is an incredible piece! The delicacy with which you carved him is extremely aesthetically pleasing, drawing you into the centre of the piece while the background draws you back out again. It’s like you created a piece that emphasizes both the forest AND the trees. Amazing work!
I am glad they all sold. Every artist needs to pay their bills. I love the plank idea, you should think about crafting a set to be sold as one piece to be the focus of a wall installation. Good luck, rooting for you.
They are all gorgeous..Ayla is so majestic, Asher seems to have a look directly into the sky and Myra has a gently smile while floating in the surrounding wave. Thanks for sharing
That man that carves the mouse in everything, you should do that! Like a tiny little bear hidden in a crevice? Your carvings are as beautiful as the place you live! I grew up in the snow! I miss it so much! Another wonderful video! Its a pleasure watching them all. Bless 🇦🇺🙏❤️🤗🇳🇴
I love the lightness that the thinly crafted feathers convey. It's so fascinating that you can get the karakzaristic edges and shapes with such small figures
The bird & otter are great, I adore the curves in those pieces. I like the bear Asher best because I love bears but also because I connect with the calm mood of the piece
All three works are stunning and magical! I perhaps like Asher the bear most, just because of the 3D bear shape you managed to carve from the walnut. He is perfect from all sides!
It would be cool if you could spend about six months in the US or Canada and make one sculpture after another from all the free wood you can easily find over here, then have a big show in a gallery here. Would love to see your work in person!
They are all absolutely stunning, but I gotta say Asher is just something different. It's something about the balance between wood and empty space there that just works so well. I also love the asymmerty that gives variation and direction without breaking the shape. It really feels like it's painting a picture or scenery, more than the other pieces
Yeah that was my thinking as well. I did not arrive at a point where i could explain why it works, But it just felt nice looking to me so i went with it
It’s great to see you joking and having fun. You are a master sculpture artist so there is no need to take yourself too seriously. Absolutely beautiful pieces as usual 🍁
I love your capacity to both carve the animal in a naturalistic fashion, yet add stylized elements that so easily combine with the animals. Great work.
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft They weren't cheap either! You're that good. Sky is the limit! Wish I could afford something from you. Congratulations my friend.
I know I've said it before but your work really is beautiful, i love each piece has its own personality and emotions. I love the flowing forms on the raven, the isolation in the bear and the contrast between the flat surface and flowing water on the otter, just stunning works
I have to say Ayla the Raven is my favorite, the chatoyancy of the Black Walnut is gorgeous! And those feathers look like she’s taken off and shed old ones leaving them behind as gifts. I have been following for a long time and am so glad your really letting your personality and humor show through your videos! I hope someday you can come to the states and travel around getting to work with all kinds of unique woods and host a show here! I’d love to see what you’d make from trees like Coffee trees, Dogwoods, and Redbuds which are native to my state!
All the sculptures turned out really good and it is great to se you branch out from logs to planks. It really opens up some ideas that wouldn't quite work with logs as a base form.
Hi, my name Sam. I am nine years old and live in Missouri. I like your sculptures. My favorite is your otter on the shell. I got inspired to carve wood. I think you should try an Allosaurus dinosaur! It would be cool.
Terrific! Your sculptures are heartfelt and charming. Thank you for being an incredible person and artist :) Enjoy the blooming spring season, it is gorgeous. Also, the music used in this video is very captivating!
Absolutely stunning! I am amazed by your skills. And yes, please, I always wonder about the story of the wood used. Would be a nice touch to the video. The view out there is outstanding, you live in a gorgeous place
Jonas, Wow! You were busy, carving a Trifecta. I think the raven is the best one, but I really like them all. Thank you for taking time to carve, film, edit and post this video
You have drawn, beautiful exquisite work in the carving expertise the talent I can’t express how beautiful they are. You have gotten all the four elements earth wind now fire I like the idea of a dragon make a beautiful dragon like the rest of your work. I love them all.
All three sculptures are beautiful in their own way. Alya is gorgeous with the curves of her wings, the tail feathers reminded me of a phoenix bird wings. Asher is endearing. I like him as he reminds me of one of the wood wall sculptures at my home. that is indeed a beautiful wood to work on. Myra is just breath taking. Among the three equally unique s ultra Myra is my favorite. It is the combination of the water waves and otter that made it more appealing to. it's like the water is cuddling Myra. These are amazing craftsmanship. Lucky are the ones that purchased these unique wood art. Thank you Jonas. I have watched your channel for quite sometime and it's so inspiring to see you become a better and better craftsman. it is always a breath of fresh air to see you add some humor in the videos. thank you.
This was a beautiful piece of wood; all 3 sculptures are amazing. I love sculptures with themes based on nature, and yours are among the best I have seen. Your skill has increased considerably in the last 2 years and shows in the pieces you create.
It's so hard to choose a favorite. I love all 3. I thought I'd pick the little bear, but I then thought I'd pick the other, but the raven too was beautiful. So I must say I'd have all 3 as a grouping on my wall. I can't wait to see what you sculpt next. You are amazing 🤩❤. Thanks for letting us know you 😊
I've seen such a big improvement in your carvings since I first started watching your videos. They were wonderful then but now, they're just amazingly beautiful pieces of art. For me Asher catches my heart, its the look into the sky/sun with puzzlement but also with seeing the glory of nature. Well done on all three. 👍😊
Hey Mr. Jonas, what beautiful beautiful sculptures again. I relay can't decide wish one is my favourite, all three have beauty and majestic in them, just how I love sculptures.
Oh, I absolutely adore these! The bear in particular has this amazing combination of power and serenity ... Even though i knew there was no way he'd still be available three days later i still went to your shop to see, just in case. They're gorgeous!! 🥰🥰
Jonas, I am a hobbyist carver from Canada and just came across your account on IG and this UA-cam channel. I am so impressed with your work! What sets you apart from almost all wood sculptors is your incredible artistic skills, particularly drawing. I am sure you will be successful with your work! Thanks for sharing your talent.
You have such an amazing talent and love the humor you add to your videos. I so wish I could afford your sculptures. Have to check out your store for the pins. You really know how to make the wood come alive and use it's inner & outer beauty shine.
Oh my What a talent! All are amazing works. I really liked the otter though. The use of design between the grain of the wood to the color choice of varnish. Great job!
All of these are so beautiful, Jonas. I can't choose a favorite, I love them all. And it always looks like magic when you apply the oil. One thing I find less than ideal is the little bear's cute paws are turned toward the wall, but then I kind of feel like there isn't really a perfect solution there (the idea of the sculpture is it's looking up at the sunset, so it makes sense that you'd want to see the head). But you know, if that's the only remark that can be made, you can conclude you're doing pretty well 😉
Its a good point and believe me when i say i was thinking about that when i spend all the time making the details that would not show, But in some weird way that has a lot of value to me
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft you earned my sub before you had finished the first sculpture. Then they got bigger and better, so I left a comment. Looking forward to your next video.
That's one feisty can of oil you have there! The way it fights back, it looks downright dangerous! D: Fantastic pieces, as always! It's always a high point when you post a new video :)
It is impossible to choose a single favorite of these. They are a three piece set of a single masterpiece that should never be split up. It would be like slicing up a Rembrandt into quarters and selling it in pieces.

Beautiful carvings!
True craftsmanship!
Thank you so much!!
3 sculptures in one video. You’re on fire dude!
Yeah thats how i felt to be honest. But im making sure to get my skiing trips as well for relaxation
Asher is an incredible piece! The delicacy with which you carved him is extremely aesthetically pleasing, drawing you into the centre of the piece while the background draws you back out again. It’s like you created a piece that emphasizes both the forest AND the trees. Amazing work!
Thank you! Its crazy to me how that design translated so well into wood. Learned a lot through that
I am glad they all sold. Every artist needs to pay their bills. I love the plank idea, you should think about crafting a set to be sold as one piece to be the focus of a wall installation. Good luck, rooting for you.
That oil reveal is always incredible, the wood color was so rich on these ones! Gorgeous work as always.

They’re all such beautiful pieces, how’re we supposed to choose a favourite. Thank you so much. I look forward to seeing more x❤
The "shake vigorously" is where the magic of the reveal is 💖
He did land, sea, and sky :]
Now I wanna see an epic fantasy novel with all of Jonas's animal characters.
Hmmm i do too 😅
I love the lightness that the thinly crafted feathers convey. It's so fascinating that you can get the karakzaristic edges and shapes with such small figures
The bird & otter are great, I adore the curves in those pieces. I like the bear Asher best because I love bears but also because I connect with the calm mood of the piece
Thank you! I ended up loving them all!
❤❤
Absolutely beautiful energy! Unimaginable talent and unique creativity! I wish you nothing but success and happiness!
So amazing ❤ true works of art and a Raven is my totem as well as in my families crest. I so love your work .
Oooof. Me audibly gasping upon seeing the oil being brushed on. These are amazing. Your work flows so well and just... It's literally breathtaking. :)
My favorite is the bear looking upwards to the sunrise. Extremely well crafted, thanks.
Thank you! Yeah that one ended up as my favourite as well although i really like the balance i found in the otter one!
Hello, love the bear so much!❤ Gives such a warm feeling. Thank you for sharing such beautiful sculptures and the process of making them.
Yeah that one did turn out quite nice
All three works are stunning and magical! I perhaps like Asher the bear most, just because of the 3D bear shape you managed to carve from the walnut. He is perfect from all sides!
Thank you Iona! I honestly can not pick since i get to know them through the process.
Walnut is a brutal wood to carve on,,,, bravo on you
True! But interestingly enough i have become a lot better at it after getting to know the wood better
Jonas, I think you should carve a dragon....your work is beautfully magical!! Loved them !
The pinnacle of artistic wood carving
Oh thank you! Means a lot for me to hear that!
That wood is amazing. It had alot of life in it! Oh and brilliant job!!! Love all of them but the little bear won my heart
Thank you so much!
I love that otter one! Absolutely incredible

Would be awesome and probably a great experience in many ways
They are all absolutely stunning, but I gotta say Asher is just something different. It's something about the balance between wood and empty space there that just works so well. Very true. There are occations where being serious is appropriate, But mostly through life i think its good to take it easy and be a little bit silly
I love your capacity to both carve the animal in a naturalistic fashion, yet add stylized elements that so easily combine with the animals. Great work.
Thank you! Yeah they get a life of their own in the end
Wow, they are all beautiful pieces. Impossible to choose which is the nicest. 🥰
Thank you so much!
Earth, water, air... I love the otter. Beautiful work. ⭐️
Thank you so much!
Hey Jonas, i love how you mix the abstract patterns with the natural subjects, it works so well! They are all my favourites for different reasons!
Thank you! Glad you liked them all!
Wow 3 amazing pieces out of one plank, impressive. I love the curves in your carvings, you have a very distinct style. 🤩
