the cracks in the wood look incredible!! i gasped when i saw the finished sculpture, they make the otter look so fierce and really tell the story of a pirate!! while ive found your decision to keep the cracks in previous projects interesting and liked the look of it, it didnt quite hit me how much they can add to the project until now. every video you teach me more about art, so thank you for that!! the statue also came out amazing!!
Your attention to detail, proportion, and finish set your sculptures apart from many artists. Watching you create is like watching a master magician give away his secrets, and still manage to mystify! Stunning work.
I admire how you turn sketches in volumes, you're a natural. You could try making rough small scale version(s) of your sculptures before attacking that precious wood. It would help resolve the volumes and see ahead and prevent possible mistakes. Then you build on what you learn, make it better. Its a good idea to get more inventory before expos. Awesome work!
Thank you! Yeah is hould do some clay work for small models before i make the big ones. I have been wanting to try to get good at a 3d program at least.
Beautiful sculpture - thank you Jonas 🙏 🤗 Good to see that you keep yourself safe by securing the wood better now when working👍 Hope you take the time to decide where and how you want to show and sell your art 🦋💫
Your entire process, from drawing to finished piece is so inspiring. Over the years I had lost my motivation to create things but it is slowly coming back
Oh my god, this is beautiful. I love watching your process and seeing how everything all falls together. Thank you for sharing this video with us and for being so awesome. I also must say, i agree the cracks along the right side of the face actually add to the piece and make it more interesting.
This turned out so FANTASTIC! If you ARE waiting to sell pieces until you have a show, just be aware that the Gallery will take a percentage of sale. I know in New York City they take up to 80 % of the sale! Mostly due to how competitive the Art world is. Start searching now and find a Gallery that sells similar work and attend a show to get a "feel" for the space and the people running it. You also want to start making plinths/stands for the pieces. Some Galleries may have a few plinths, but no guarantee ! You want to use screws to unassembled for storage after, OR, have them nest inside each other. I had a friend make me 2 plinth with interchangeable tops (one rectangular, one square, one with a hole drilled in it. Very handy as you can switch around. Put some time into picking the color you paint them, I go for "basic black", but I sculptor I knew did a blue/gray that was very nice. Also, make sure your website, show cards & business cards are ready ! These can be pricy ! (At least in the USA!) Perhaps you will want reproductions of your drawings ?! Either to hang up, or as greeting cards. Decide if you want to have wine and or food, at the reception. I've given you a lot to think about ! Wishing you the best !
Totally agree with you. An exhibition is the best way to go... get the people familiar with your work...then put your sculptures up for auction... and don't forget... you can also sell your drawings. You are going to be FAMOUS! You are a phenomenal artist!
Very nice sculpture. The cracks in the face looks like it got in a fight with a tiger. I'm always amazed how pieces of wood take on a whole new dimension when the finish is applied.
The hands on him are absolutely beautiful. Hands are technically hard. I'm loving your channel. I am so used to painting and working in 2D but have recently started to try a wee bit of woodwork. Only working with small pieces I find in the woods but it's great fun so far. Good luck with the exhibition :)
Love the concept of the otter riding the conch shell downstream towards a new beginning. Beautiful work too btw. Love the channel and love the work. Very inspirational. Keep it going!
Jonas, du är FANTASTISK!! Love the narrative behind the screen. Your attention to details is amazing. It is us, your viewers, who ought to thank YOU for tons of inspiration. And, finally, screw having a clean workshop - that is not how genius people work ;) Simma lugnt :)
Haha i kinda agree on your last point... cleaning the workshop takes too much time, But now that i work with so many dangures tools i have to concider that as well so it is probably time to get a cleaner workspace
Oh man, SO GOOD!!! Your ability to see the otter in the log is stunning, I don't understand it. What a fantastic job!! I know it must have been frustrating, but I'm always interested to see when something goes wrong and how you fix it. Great job! I may have a solution for you with the pencils lol!!!
Thank you!! Let me tell you a secret, I dont understand it either haha, But i have gotten used to just trying and i am more often than not happily suprised by the outcome. My solution to the pencil problem is going to be just buying a bunch more of them!
Your artwork is your creativity and it is beautiful. I don't know why people need to be negative but ignore them. What do you think wood glue and sawdust are used for? Continue doing your work, if you are pleased, that is all that matters!! In reality, artists are perfectionists and they are hard on themselves. Continue on and I wish you the best!!
Thank you so much! I have had many thoughts about my artwork through the years, But lately i have settled on doing an honest day of work and accepting what comes of it.
Even your sketchbook is just amazing and that you can make these beautiful drawing into mind blowing sculptures! Every time I watch your videos my mind is blown, love your work! 💖
Amazing sculpture. I’m also a sculptor, and I got super inspired to work with wood in the way you do. Great camera work and editing, great tempo and commentary 👊
Otters may look cute but are still wild, specially when trying to survive, so having the marks on the wood lookinh like scars it's really really cool!! It make it look like a wise otter!
You are the reason i started carving... i started out making little carvings (pendants like you) with small hand chisels... rhen started making knifes for carving.... now i boutght my first rotary tool... bits are really expensive tho and i need to save a while before i can get a flexible shaft💔 other than that tho... i wonder how many people you have inspired... im sure many like myself
I am relitivly new to the world of wood carving, but thoroughly enjoying it so far. I am currently working on my second and third sculptures (black tip and bamboo sharks), and I would just like to thank you for your inspiration and for talking through your process. It is quite interesting. Keep up the great work.
Very nice sculpture. ^^ The cracks, I think, in the end, really helped to bring it alive. They make it look as if our pirate otter survived an encounter with a bear or something simmilar.
Absolutely beautiful and remarkable work. You have some serious talent. Your ideas are unique and beautiful. Keep up the wonderful work. Very inspiring to a new wood carver. Thank you for sharing your work
High strength thin CA glue with an activator. It will flow deep into small spaces, dries instantly and can help stabilize cracks. Your work is beautiful. You can bend the rod...
Absolutely brilliant 👏 good luck with your future projects in carving which by the way I think is a very exceptional high standard and quality. Thanks for sharing 👍 As someone who also likes working with wood fully appreciates the understanding and feeling that you get no matter how good your skills are, if we are not that good but reasonable, people like you give us something to aspire to. Cheers Les.
You are an amazing artist and i love you're creations. I say every time i can't wait for the next, and they impress me every time. Keep up the excellent work!
I know this could be a challenge but, the way I've been seeing you carve is amazing and I was wondering, unless you thought of it already, piecing a bunch a forest animals into 1 seen display. LOL I know it would be a lot of work and a lot of material, idk, maybe for the local museum? 👍Love Your Work! 👍😎
This is gorgeous, as all your sculptures are, but I'm mostly commenting to tell you that I recently bought one of your fox pendants and I absolutely love it. It's beautiful to look at and also lovely to hold; the texture is very pleasing!
Every single video is astonishing and inspiring... and don't worry about the mess in your workshop my friend, if it is not messy then it is not a real workshop
WOW!!!!!!!! JOB WELL DONE!!!!! Actually the cracks add character, like scars. Maybe the animal had a long rough journey in raging waters and finally found something to rest on!
He turned out great! The design was already beautiful, and the sculpture looks stunning. Glad those new tools work out fine, that KATools disc is great don’t you think. I got the red one, but the purple course one seems to do better with these large carvings. Well my friend, you are on your way to a fantastic exhibition!
Safe travels Mr Adventure Otter!! He's in for quite the journey! I like how this one has a story, and wonder what he's got packed in that shell for survival..an exhibit of your creations sure would be nice to see ☺️ maybe after you clean up that workshop.👏👏
Hey Mr. Jonas, woooooowww, what a Wonderfull masterpiece again, he really looks majestic. I looooove these types of sculptures too, where the base of the sculpture is smaller and up its so big. You truly are an artist. I also wanted to say, love the way you do your videos, they are interesting, fun and the reveal so dramatic, just my style. I can't wait for your next video.
Hello I recently subscribed and love your art, combined with your commentary, I think your videos are very relaxing, educational and entertaining. I believe that people will be able to find more of your content even If it is a older, your talent still shines through. Moreover I think this could really help you get more exposure for you videos, by putting them into places people can easily find them when they visit your channel for the first time. because I believe you and your art deserve more attention.
awesome, thanks so much for sharing both your talents and journey. This has really added depth to your channel and I really look forward to seeing the next episode.
Прекрасная идея и очень талантливое исполнение. На самом деле в огромном ютубе не так много скульпторов и как правило они работают с персонажами из игр и фильмов. Ваша работа художника и скульптора очень уникальна. Спасибо. Жду новых работ. 👏
I wonder what you two saw on the horizon :O What a beautiful sculpture! Thank you for sharing your art with us. I enjoyed watching this one come to life. I loved how soft the otters skin ended up looking :) So nice!
Fascinating process and beautiful work ♥ I'm still a beginner with wood carving, so far I've only done sea creatures. But your last video inspired me to take another step and carve a little tiger bust. Keep up the great work friend
I love seeing your process! Another amazing sculpture, well done!! And I also have a problem with a pencil gnome, although mine has developed a liking for my keys 🤣🤣
Bonjour de France 🇫🇷 pourquoi ne pas remplir les fissures du bois par de résine coloré pour stopper la progression de l'éclatement du bois pour éviter que le bois ne casse plu dans le temps cela dit très beau travail sur bois bravo 👏
Beautiful carving. The otter is exquisite. How much help did you have? Especially with production. Computers and people can be difficult for me. Hopefully I will find the people ,help I need . I wish u the best . I'm a craver much like you. Thanks for your vidio.

Before you sell any of your sculptures, you should totally 3D scan them, maybe even sell the models for printing and game design.
Love how the natural lines in the wood, mimic those found in shells. The cracks in his face look like a battle scar. A warrior of the sea, indeed.
Thank you! I am glad i discovered a few months back that those cracks gave a cool effect!
I came here to say this about the cracks. Very cool.
I love how the cracks make the otter seem like a brave warrior! Very beautiful sculpture
Thank you so much!
HOLYYYY GOOSEBUMPS!!! THIS IS THE LEGENDARY SCULPTURE AND THIS IS WHY YOU'RE MY FAVORITE ARTIST, LFGGGGG 🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥🚀🚀🚀
Thank you so much! It makes me very happy to hear kind words like this!

This powerfully embodies the otters of Brian Jaques' Redwall series. Amazing work as always!
Had to check it out! So much awesome looking artwork!
Your attention to detail, proportion, and finish set your sculptures apart from many artists. Watching you create is like watching a master magician give away his secrets, and still manage to mystify! Stunning work.
Thank you! In trying to have fun with my sculptures and it probably helps the final result in a positive way

Good to see that you keep yourself safe by securing the wood better now when working👍
Hope you take the time to decide where and how you want to show and sell your art 🦋💫
Thank you so much! Yes this was a great way to secure the wood to the work clamps.
Congrats! You’re at just under 220k subscribers you are well on your way to becoming famous by doing what you love!
Thank you so much! Yeah it seem to be moving in the right direction. Very grateful that i get to do this almost every day
Your entire process, from drawing to finished piece is so inspiring. Over the years I had lost my motivation to create things but it is slowly coming back

Thank you so much! I will give the next sculpture my best try as well
A gorgeous sculpture of one of my favorite animals! The best I've ever seen done of an otter....how gifted you are. Superb!
Thank you! This is actually my favourite creation!

You are a phenomenal artist!

Wow what a talent. Superb work. I also love your illustrations. A book of those would be fantastic, a real page turner. I just adore your work.
Thank you so much! I really like to sketch a lot before i decide on the final design
That is my favorite sculpture you made. I love the face details and the 🐚. Sam

If you ever sell your art you can also sell your drawings like prints. Beautiful work ❤❤❤ love from Denmark.
Thank you! Love back from Norway (My mother is danish by the way)
i love it .
i think that it would look nice
on a large peace of black marble,
it would pick up the otters reflection also 😊😊
I agree. Stone masons are pretty far apart here in Northern Norway so it would probably be quite expensive, But perhaps totally worth it!
The final revel left me with the feeling...of wow! Awenspiering!
Thank you! Its my favourite sculpture and i do not think i will be able to ever part with it

Thank you! Yes i agree, but i must admit that i find it hard to have a favourite since every sculpture has been such a journey!
On the one hand I would agree with saving your sculptures... On the other hand... I NEED THIS ONE IN MY LIFE. I just love otter so much. ❤

Looks amazing man as always this Sculptures have so much sould I makes me realy jealous when i look at my 3D stuff 😉

He turned out great! The design was already beautiful, and the sculpture looks stunning. Glad those new tools work out fine, that KATools disc is great don’t you think. I got the red one, but the purple course one seems to do better with these large carvings. Well my friend, you are on your way to a fantastic exhibition!
Thank you so much! Yeah those disks worked great. I finally have tools that can cut away wood fast
Would you consider filling in the cracks with clear apoxy? Or, is that not a good idea?
If you fill them before you start carving it should be possible. I like to keep then natural tho
Jonas, you are an amazing artist and wood worker. I love your work. I would love just 1 page from your sketch book❤
Thank you! I think i will do a sketcbook tour once it is completed
Your drawings are absolutely amazing. Talent!!!!
Thank you! I apprecaite that!

If you need help for cleaning the shop you can invest in a small vacum or dust collector for faster cleaning 😎
That would not be a bad idea! Thank you!
He looks like an old and wise man with the wood scars in his face…incredible artwork
Thanks for your interpretation! It is always a please for me to read what people see in my work
