Living in dubai with a family is the best decision. 2 years in and not one single regret. My daugther is now 5 loves school plus her daily routine, or swimming or gymnastics ect. Long as you have a semi decent income there is no better place in the world to live with your family. The uk has nothing at all to offer. GREAT VIDEO 👌🏾
@@brunoferreira.tech_ yes depending on your job situation and what they will cover.. ie medical insurances and visas. 8k USD is 30000aed a month you can live a nice life and never be bored😊
I love the UAE I lived in the U.K. a long time and found it so dire. UAE is a beautiful country (Dubai isn’t the only city there btw) the Emirati people are generous and so welcoming and peaceful. Yes the summers are hot but I prefer that than the harsh British winters. I feel so at home here and happy my children will have wonderful lives here
This was so inspiring to hear. I’ve been seriously considering in possibly moving from the UK and the fact you are also from south Wales makes it so much more relatable in terms of cost comparisons and so on. Going to enjoy watching all of ur videos to get a better picture of what Dubai is like and hello from Cardiff!!!
How exciting that you’re considering moving to Dubai! Makes me happy to hear it and I’m glad my videos are relatable with us both being from South Wales! Wish I had a similar comparison when moving myself. I look forward to hearing more about your decision on moving in the future, let me know if I can help
Me and my partner are looking at re locating from Wales to Dubai sometime this year with our 5 month old little boy! Hearing you talk about your experience is so reassuring to me in that we are making the right decision!!!🥰🥰
We lived in Dubai for over 7 years. We were made to feel welcome but I think we were lucky to live there before it got so frenetic and expensive. They call it the 'Dubai Bubble' - great for a while but not somewhere to put down roots. In response to your healthcare statements - we had a rather different experience. We both got healthcare as part of our salary package but when I had spinal issues, I felt that some things were being done just so that the hospital could get more back from the insurance company. When I was back in the UK, I went to a private clinic and this was verified. We were in Abu Dhabi for 4 years and it was a much better fit for us - not as image conscious and less busy. I wouldn't change the UAE experience but once you scratch beneath the surface, there are as many issues and compromises to be made as anywhere you might choose to live.
It is so relief to hear a mom talking about nursery in Dubai! My husband and I are considering to go to Dubai ,both working as teacher. We plan to have kid in UAE but as a woman, I am really worried about who's gonna take care of the baby and how is the education gonna be. Your video greatly answered my questions, thank you so much
I've lived in the UAE for five years and seeing the sun (nearly) every single day is so important to my mental health as well. Seeing a cardiologist the same day (when in Canada I didn't get my referral answered for seven years) was also impressive. I enjoy the friends I've made from other countries and trying to learn other languages (though my Arabic is mainly "lalala habibi"). We have no plans of returning to live in Canada; friends and family are welcome to visit 😊
Hello. Thank you for your video. My boyfriend and I are moving to Dubai in December, and yes, I also having difficulty finding information online. All your videos are super helpful. Please continue to share your experiences in Dubai
I have been living in dubai for 13 months and tbh, im not a fan, the lifestyle is good, tax free, good money etc, but so soulless, fake, and tiring, I can't see myself being here in 2025, and of course the summer, its horrible
Dubai is as tiring as you make it tbh. In terms of the fakeness it also depends what enviroment you choose to put yourself in. Nothing fake about chilling by a pool & reading a book while the kids play.
go back to england and enjoy your 40% cgt, income tax, no NHS, failing schools in the freezing pouring rain then👍🏻 but its ok because we have a history..like a fabulous royal family who are just an inspiration…right?
Dubai is perfect for escaping winter in europe and enjoying the beach. Socializing is a different topic and of course it heavily depends on where you're living. Dubai marina is indeed soulless. Too many people come and go on a monthly basis so you never have any consistency in the neighborhood.
We're also expats from the uk with a son. We've lived in the Middle East and Asia and we're currently in Egypt. We're considering moving to Dubai next as my husband is also a teacher albeit secondary level. Teaching in the uk is so different to as an expat. I don't currently have a job so not sure how we'll fair in Dubai but ideally I'll work in the school too. I'll be following you 😊
I’m happy you liked it ☺️ depends on which kind of visa you’ll be going for. If it’s an employment visa that’s taken care of by the employer and they will walk you through it. I’ll make a video on it soon!
Thanks for this video, very useful! I want to move to Dubai too from London, but some recruiters told me that it's very hard for companies to sponsor foreigners.. how did you manage??
In Ramadan, office hours get reduced and people tend to do less work and are in “holiday mode” so that could be true. It also depends on your line of work!
@@adventuresofabs Oooh okay thank you so much for that clarity. So which places can i consider to live in.I am single and looking for a job like customer services etc.I just need a basic environment for a start.
Thank you for your video. It is very straight to the point and very honest. I am planning to move to Dubai for my partner’s job next month. I am changing careers. I was hairdresser/ salon owner for many years. I lived in 5 different countries, and I would like to start to work in real estate. Could you tell me how to research for job without a qualification?
Thank you for watching 😊 What kind of job in real estate? If you’re looking to be an agent they are commission only roles without a salary! Most of the time you don’t need any qualifications to get into the industry but sales experience is needed. Depending on where you are from a qualification/degree maybe needed to obtain a residence visa in the UAE.
@@adventuresofabs thank you for your answer. I am not sure yet what kind of job, it is a great question. I might contact few amazing expats who did the move , when I arrive in Dubai , and pick up their brains. Thank you. And carry on your videos! 🫶🏻
any more info on worklife balance for teachers? I am getting such mixed messages from people! I am primary and my husband is secondary, only one of us would work full time initially, with the other possibly part time or waiting until over so we can fully settle our 2 children. Is their such a thing as work life balance? After 15 years teaching we can't carry on the way we are here :( love the vids! so helpful :)
There are very few part-time positions for teachers in the UAE and no supply teaching as such. Work - Life balance has to be created because the pressures are different, primarily due to the 'for profit' nature of the large majority of schools, which tend to be 3-18 years. If you get a good school that does not have financial investors (rather than educational investors) dominating the Board, you can really be fulfilled in your teaching. KHDA (equivalent to the Ministry of Education) operate Ofsted inspections every year for some schools and the accountability is becoming more stringent. We were in the UAE teaching for almost 12 years because we were lucky to find schools that we loved. Do your homework on the schools and look beneath the surface of any companies ... larger or familiarly named schools may not be what they seem. Good luck!
I loved hearing you speak about your experience in Dubai and I loved the authenticity of your message. My husband and I are teachers and are also considering moving to teach in Dubai soon, mostly because we also want a better life for kids that we plan to have. Can you please share how your husband applied for jobs in Dubai? Or his recommendations of how to apply for these jobs? Thanks.
Aed is pegged directly to dollar. If the pound changes value in relation to dollar then it'll affect the UK value of Dubai salary - but when you live out here you only care about local value so uk doesn't matter so much. Because uk currency moves against dollar it can actually work in your favor - when you can buy more pounds with every dollar that's when you can send aed earnings back to UK. When you get less pounds you keep it in Dubai. Makes sense?
Plenty of areas to choose from but it all depends on your budget for the school and for your home! I would start with finding/budgeting for a school first.
Uk is good for poor illegal immigrants.dubai is good for rich successful legal immigrants.nobody will call you evil rich here in Dubai.i need two things.less tax and safety which is not available in UK.i dont need public education for kids and public healthcare cause i can afford private one.
Not really, Dubai has no religion it has many religions due to immigration , and each immigrant group can choose which legal system they prefer ( if they want to be subjected to British law in Dubai you , if an immigrant want a catholic or Protestant or Hindus or Jewish law they can ) , Dubai seeks to accommodate diversity and not just its local Muslim Sunni culture .
