Teacher Accommodation Dubai | For Couples and Family | British School
Переглядів 9 тис.9 місяців тому
I was looking for videos like this when i moved to Dubai with my husband who is a teacher and a toddler. I found lots of videos of apartment tours but no videos on accommodation provided for families by a British school! My hope is that this video will help families from the UK who are in the stages of deciding to move to Dubai. I wanted to make sure this video was realistic and honest for that...
WHY WE LEFT FAMILY IN THE UK... to move to Dubai

As a family, it took me us so long to research and evaluate the pros and cons of moving to Dubai. Here are the reasons why we finally decided to pack up and move our lives to the UAE with an 18 month old in tow. This is super helpful! My husband and I (I’m a teacher) are considering moving next year.
Great many thanks. I really appreciate
Could you do a video about the different areas? And what you think about them? We also want to move to dubai (husband me and our almost 2year old) we are looking for a place thats cheap (for the first year atleast) but also a place thats cheap you can chill in parks and playgrounds etc. My son and i love parks and picnics
Lovely video. Thank you for showing how is in Dubai. I take sociology, and I'm conducting a study about the differing lives people in different parts of this city, and was wondering what your perspective is on the matter.
Are you guys living in arabian ranches 3 would be cool to meet up sometime 😁😬
No we are living in Dubai South! but the properties are such a similar build and layout so i can see why you thought that! Sure we’re always looking to build connections ☺️
Appreciate content!
Thank you for watching!
@@adventuresofabswlc! Youc content so much good, but i notice that yout do not use eye catchy thumbnail, and your video title nit eye catchy, do you want discussion about details?
Honestly the WhatsApp thing really bothers me. Send all your private information on Facebook's platform? No thank you! I don't have WhatsApp.
Definitely something I was skeptical about. However, it’s really difficult to avoid!
Hi Abbey Nice to see you again after a while. Excellent video (Ash from Sydney Australia)
@@sydwest2957 Thank you for watching Ash! Another upload coming next week ☺️
dubai is not good and safe
Great video, thanks for your inputs 😊
I've lived in the UAE for five years and seeing the sun (nearly) every single day is so important to my mental health as well. Seeing a cardiologist the same day (when in Canada I didn't get my referral answered for seven years) was also impressive. I enjoy the friends I've made from other countries and trying to learn other languages (though my Arabic is mainly "lalala habibi"). We have no plans of returning to live in Canada; friends and family are welcome to visit 😊
It’s not called long clothing, it’s called formal and decent clothing.

lol
Really helpful video! I moved to Dubai recently too, and it was a bit overwhelming at first. Luckily, I got some advice from the team at Bolster Group, and they helped me navigate the transition smoothly. Totally agree with the points you made, especially about driving!
This is accurate, practical advice - esp for Brits.
"Special" refers to 95 Octane petrol. It is the mid range option and most commonly used. There are higher and lower grades available. Super [98 Octane] for sports cars ePlus [92 Octane] for commercial vans etc
Thank you for your video. It is very straight to the point and very honest. I am planning to move to Dubai for my partner’s job next month. I am changing careers. I was hairdresser/ salon owner for many years. I lived in 5 different countries, and I would like to start to work in real estate. Could you tell me how to research for job without a qualification?
Thank you for watching 😊 What kind of job in real estate? If you’re looking to be an agent they are commission only roles without a salary! Most of the time you don’t need any qualifications to get into the industry but sales experience is needed. Depending on where you are from a qualification/degree maybe needed to obtain a residence visa in the UAE.
@@adventuresofabs thank you for your answer. I am not sure yet what kind of job, it is a great question. I might contact few amazing expats who did the move , when I arrive in Dubai , and pick up their brains. Thank you. And carry on your videos! 🫶🏻
How long you been in Dubai? I am also from uk and looking to move to either uae or Turkey
@@TheZahra110 2 years. Both great options for different reasons! Exciting times ahead
Hi Abbey, What is your job as well as your husbands ? Also do you take meds for your ADHD ? I am moving end October from Scotland, think i can take x3 months supply with doctors letter but will need to get from Dubai thereafter. How much is x1 month supply for ADHD meds, and can they prescribe the same ? Thanks in advance!
I’m an L&D trainer, my husband is a teacher. I used to before I had my daughter but had to come off them so I haven’t since. I looked into it before I moved and I know someone on meds. Apparently Concerta is available here but Elvanse is not. I can ask them how they managed with the change and what she had to do to get them for you. When bringing over meds, I’d recommend getting a letter from whoever prescribed the meds to confirm your diagnosis and how many meds you’re travelling with. Maybe even a copy of the prescription. This is just for an ‘incase’ scenario, will just give you peace of mind when you travel. check the band substances you can find online to ensure your meds aren’t in the list also to be sure! Any more questions let me know, I’m happy to help!
@adventuresofabs Thanks, Abbey. Yes please can you ask your friend..? Really appreciated.
hello there, i have analyzed your UA-cam channel and found out some problems do you want to talk about it for a while
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Fab to see you making videos again! How hard will it be to get a job in Dubai after a year of maternity leave and also no degree 😅
Thank you for watching and commenting! helps keep me going 😊 oh not too hard hopefully but it all depends on your skill set and if the skills you have are transferable!
Nice to see you video after a long break. Good work Abbey I am watching from Sydney Australia
Thank you for sticking around! Just editing another video which will be ready this week 😊
Hi can you please do a video about moving to Dubai alone as a married woman? And a good location to live? I’m worried about being home sick. I’m from London. Thanks x
@@1989Fairytale I can definitely add it to my video list! Message me on instagram if you want to? maybe I can as answer some of your questions there x
Great video 💪🏻😎
Moving to Dubai and leaving family behind in the UK was a tough decision for me too. But honestly, the opportunities here made it worth it. I got a lot of help from Bolster Group-they sorted out my visa and even helped with banking, which made the whole move smoother. It’s a big step, but having some support makes all the difference
You share some great knowledge here! To complete I would say that having a consultant to help with the paperwork or other administrative fiels is needed. + for recruiting it's better to find a HR service. Personally my partner is Bolster Group, they helped me getting my visa, family visa also, business setup, bank account etc
Although using a VPN is prohibited, video calls are perfectly acceptable. You simply need to use the right apps! Tawasal is one of those options, offering unlimited calls with exceptional HD quality.
is it possible to use whats app video call in abu dhabi? to communicate with family in UK
OW VPN THANKS
Question: what about you, like in my case I am a teacher but not my husband, can he work? We are looking for opportunities
yes he can work
I would have thought the time to worry is when you walk through a street or shopping mall and nobody looks at you ?
Thank you so much I am expanding my catering business to Dubai and all information is appreciated
How exciting! Best of luck
The stray animal issue is just the saddest thing, if ever I leave the UAE I will never be able to forget it. So much more could and should be done
such useful videos, thank you Abby
What a great video! thank you
Why are you complaining your living a free life?
Very informative video. JVC is the most affordable place in terms of living and investing. Currently there are only bus services and taxi. Metro will come in the future
Dubai was built off the backs of Black enslave people harvesting the pearls from the sea. They’ll NEVER admit it and they’ve conveniently deleted this FACT from the history books. I’ve no respect for a bunch of LIARS.
Moving to Dubai with a child is not worth it. You have to pay and pay and pay
But what if you can afford it? Still a mistake?
Very helpful, thank you! What exactly were the hidden costs when you first moved there, that you recommend having 10k for?
There are deposits for almost everything. I wish I kept a spreadsheet at the time!
Whats funny is that as an Indian I sort of learnt 20+ new things about UK 😂 Like I was able to relate to Dubai culture more lol
Wtf who is booking travel insurance for moving abroad?? 😂
Everyone that wants to be covered incase of accident and emergency!
Useful information, thanks.
Expecting a video on cost of living in dubai per month as a teacher
Will work on it!
can you recommend apartment hotel in al barsha thank you
Adagio!
Hi, why do you need £10,000 before moving to Dubai? Can you elaborate on this? What do you need to pay for? Are you not getting paid immediately upon arrival after beginning work? Thanks!
Could you recommend how to apply for jobs?
Disgraceful to dump pets. I wonder who it is who does this? Also why doesn’t cctv capture them so they can be fined. I mean, I get it that some people might fall on extremely hard times but dumping the pet on the street?? We all know that Dubai is a super safe place so surely these people are being caught on CCTV (unless they’re driving all the way out into the desert…. 🐪 where there are no cameras … but even then these days I guess satellite 🛰️ images are always possible). Strange they’re not being brought to justice. Even if they could be fined that money could help relocate the pet rather than it falling on the shoulders of volunteers
“We’re bggr’d” 😂
