I saw Babymetal and Dethklok in Kentucky. I was diagnosed with cancer and my daughter drove me 6 hours to watch them in an effort to cheer me up. We had an amazing time. I wore my concert hoodie to radiation every time. My daughter said my mom doesn't fight cancer with flowers and ballads we scream it away with metal. 😅
I send you my love and prayers🙏 You got a great girl❤
Great reactions! Mikio smiled often on stage. miss you Mikio. Rest in peace great guitarist Mikio Fujioka🤘🦊🎸
This song is ridiculously fun. The choreo is amazing, everyone smiling is so wholesome, the solos were great, and the participation was wonderful 🥺
4:30 Reaction start
Stay tuned next May 23, another special new collab along with Electric Callboy is coming, they released a cool teaser but don't look for any music snippet yet, thou there's a short leaked audio.
Awadama Fever means "bubblegum fever", this song was created by the same composer who wrote Gimme Chocolate!! and it was intended to release before GC! blew up going viral in 2014 and getting mix critics overseas including some saying they're doing "bubblegum pop music", either way is a good song for some fans to think they did this as a way to respond to those. I think they're so respectful and polite and they even said that they take critics from everyone and will try to learn and get better instead of doing a song as a way to give a sort of middle finger to anyone, they will only raise the kitsune up.🦊🤘
Anyway this song sounds heavy and got some riffs and rhythms you might probably already heard before, for me I can even hear some drums elements from ska songs but if you want a clearly ska rhythm song i recommend "YAVA!" with the Kami Band intro live at Big Fox Festival 2017. Since the composer Takeshi Ueda got a punk and digital hardcore background this song got some of those elements and even some of the drum & bass, again don't want to give spoilers but one of the new songs got more clear d&b element, you'll hear it for sure.
The heavy riff you heard here is probably the same from "The Powerpuff Girls" cartoon show, you know, three girls with super powers just like our girls here. This another rare Kami Band intro at Five Fox Festival 2017 (Red Fox and Silver Fox got that intro), but sadly you won't find that at BMRR, only this live comp, if you listen this again you'll notice it got almost the same intro as Catch Me If You Can.
Song is about traveling with a bubblegum mint flavored time machine to reach your dreams, trippy maybe but like with Gimme Chocolate!! and some others songs is all about to just have fun and party. There's a funny interview with the girls and the western journalist ask them if they ever went on travel with a mint flavored time machine (?) and SuMetal said just "No!" (like "you kidding me?") lmao
Kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
Excellent song choice.🤘 Awadama Fever gets overlooked and it deserves more attention.🦊
1. "Catch me If you can" - from same venue (Fox Festival) have nice intro too. (And i think its best version of this song)
2. "Kageroo" have nice intro from WEST Kami band. U will like it. You can see - this is a completely different guitar and drums playing technique. American musicians vs Japanese ones.
👍👍👍An awesomely awesome performance. I love the music and watch this video every day. Great reaction.🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤
Well you could say the end of an era but it might sound cruel I don't think I would really like it otherwise since they grew with them. In the long run.
This is what you get when haters say BABYMETAL are "bubblegum music", you get this banger about bubble gum!
Correction, "bubblegum metal" was what the haters used to call BABYMETAL. Then they wrote the first song in heavy metal history about bubblegum. If that isn't the most metal comeback ever I don't know what it is.
No, the music is great, the problem is the three chicks jumping around...
@@njeroe6848Metallica, Judas Priest, Kid Rock, and many other big metal names would kindly ask you to f*** off with that attitude towards BM...
@@njeroe6848 あんたは脳みそが化石だね😓
First!
Great reaction to an awesome song, that is probably underrated. I love the fact that they threw it in the face of all the haters and gatekeepers talking about bubble gum and a mint flavoured time machine. ❤🤘🦊🔥
I hope Yui is doing well too. Su and Moa have often mentioned that they are still keeping touch with her and that she is doing well, which is good to hear.
The first guitarist with the whammie was MIKIO FUJIOKA, the 2nd guitartist is TAKAYASHI OUMARA, bass is BOH, the drummer is Hideki Aoyama
Rip mikio
Ohmura*
This is one of my favorites. It's overlooked. This and Yava provided a solid base for the Metal Resistance album. Karate and road of resistance are the main tracks. GJ and Sis Anger being the Black Babymetal an Amore and No Rain No Rainbows being Su's solos. Great Album
Great reaction!!! Fox Festival 2017 Live is awesome!!!🔥Awadama Fever is such a fun song🦊
Only Babymetal could pull off an in your face like this one. I really like this song. Great tune, yeah fun as all get out and rocks harder than a lot of bands can dream of. The Japanese culture really puts a premium on privacy. As does amuse. I love that Yui's privacy has been so protected. I think in the West we get used to everything being up for public consumption. All parties I believe have handled Yui's retirement in a respectful, responsible way.
They have a drum n bass backtrack in this song, and they do it in many of their earlier stuff, catch me if you can is very similar with the intro and drum n bass backtrack
Written by the same guy who wrote Gimme Chocolate
Thanks for doin what you can to get this on the utube. Theres only so much you can do and sometimes you cant do anything... Sometimes it just gets blocked
As Omajination said in one of her Babymetal bio vídeos to this day"Yui is the biggest mystery in the Japanese entertainment industry"
You got it right the first time.
the first guitarist was Mikio.
The greatest song about 'bubble gum' ever made!
At the end of this song, I get a little teary-eyed as I feel the sadness of the three girls' smiles melting away into the dimness.

Best time machine

You mentioned it briefly but here's the link to the Doki Doki Morning live video where we got the surprise introduction of METALVERSE, the new Babymetal sister group. BTW, METALVERSE will be performing at the Babymetal Fox Fest this coming weekend with Asterism as their backing band
Being called Bubblegum Metal might be a criticism by some, but for Babymetal, its an inspiration. 😂😂😂 Over the top cutesy choreo, Su singing in a higher pitch than normal... what more can you really ask for in "Bubblegum Metal" 😂😂😂
Nice video reaction my favorite song tanks🤘
On MAY 23rd of 2024. BABYMETAL,and ELECTRIC CALLBOY will collab. The song is RATATA.
*RATATATA
the band is phenomenal...but the GIRLS ARE THE STARS! 🍅🦊🦊
Another classic
🤘🦊🤘
Nice reaction Babymetal doing what they do. Starting with letting the Kamiband do what they do. Play great. Fun performance for all. We all miss Yui but I would never say Momoko took or was given Yui's spot. That first era of Babymetal was magical. With that said Momoko was promoted into a new version of Babymetal. they were a duo for two albums. Even Su and Moa acknowledge this is a new era for Babymetal. Lastly what a fun tune. Just walking around chewing bubble gum dreaming about the possibilities. Yup a mint flavored time machine. A scent can take you right back to a time that you smelled it before. And now every time I have anything with mint in it, I think of Babymetal. Not a bad thing at all.
Great reaction, thanks!
"Awadama Fever" is a very underrated song in my opinion. It's considered the "Gimme Chocolate" of their second album, Metal Resistance, since both songs were composed by Takeshi Ueda.
This compilation video is pretty decent and features two concerts from the Five Fox Festival in Japan series: Red and Silver Fox Festival. The curiosity about those shows were the requirements for the audience: Red Fox Festival was female only while Silver Fox Festival was elementary school children and people over 60 only. Some people found these requirements "unusual" (specially the last one) and quite controversial.
Awesome reaction guys! To me, this song is always “Gimme Chocolate” Mk.2 lol. Fun, upbeat and doesn’t take itself too seriously…except the breakdown… 🤘🤘🦊. Lol
The Fox Festivals is a series of 5 shows in 2017, ending with a 6th, Big Fox Festival, which was Yui’s last performance. She officially the following year (2018 Oct).
No one’s heard from Yui publicly since, but Su & Moa said they still talk to her and that she’s doing well. Of course, these 3 are like family.
I’m sure it’s been suggested, but here are a few good ones you’ve missed:
*Kagerou:* Babymetal brings in the grown-up sass and attitude with a Kami West intro. Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 is safest, but if you until end of July, a much better version from recent Legend MM may be available.
*Night Night Burn (Legend Metal Galaxy 2020):* Salsa/Flamenco! 💃
*In The Name Of (Budokan 2021):* An amazing concert intro song, replacing BABYMETAL DEATH after Yui left.
🤘🦊
Love how much they seem to be enjoying performing this song totally having a great time .😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Yui is still on Amuse's Roster of Talent. Which makes people hold to the possibility that that she will make a return to the entertainment industry. If I remember correctly, she mentioned that she wanted to be an actor.
I still hold to hope that she does return to entertainment somewhere but I also happen to believe they keep her on the roster so that they can keep paying her and/or help her with medical.
To Yui, The Angel of Dance, we hope you are happy doing whatever you choose.
This is why Yui is called The Angel of Dance ua-cam.com/video/JLnTU7xDU-o/v-deo.html (subbed)
Great reaction! Thank you!🤘🦊🤘
Nice reaction guys, love this just for the joy of this performance, They have a new single out this Thursday 23rd May, a collab with Electric Caallboy.
< Yui chan beamuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu > 💓
I am Japanese, and your pronunciation is good! 👍
"Awa" means "Bubble" and "Tama" (pronounced "Dama" when following certain syllables) means "Ball"
Near the latter part of the song, they count from 1 to 4 multiple times, but you may have noticed they are pronounced in two different ways.
(1) They count, "Ichi/ knee/ san/ shi" which is the normal or contemporary way to count. (2) But they also say, "ee/ foo/ mee/ yon" which is a traditional way of counting and is rarely used these days.
Also, if you get a chance to hear "Megitsune" with ALL FEMALE fans, it is hilarious. This is the only time I know where you cannot hear BABYMETAL's voices during the response "Sorre!". It is because they are drowned out by all the female voices! 😝
" The Legend of Mint Flavor Time Machine "
Fox Festivals 2017 were the last time The East Kamis did a Solo intro (Yava in Osaka) and Last for Yui. Also last time for songs like Catch me if you can, Rondo of Nightmare, and Amore.. Along with the last time they used those Babymetal V Guitars. The West Kamis they use now are not as interesting.
Do a new reaction to Babymetal new track with Electric Callboy "Ratatata"
Did you notice that the crowd was only women? No ditch, the first row as literally with their elbows on the stage? Such a safe environment. BABYMETAL takes care of hers megitsunes.
In this fase , with Yui the vocals was more divided with Su.
At May 23 a brand new song will be release, a colab with Electric cowboy call Ratatata , think this will be the next one to react.
Thank you for the react. 🤘🦊
I often hear it said that this song is a clapback at the haters, but I really doubt that because it doesn't fit at all with the way Babymetal have reacted to criticism throughout their career. Having read and watched a lot of interviews with the girls and with Koba, they always come across as humble and grateful that people have taken the time to consider their music, and they're well aware that what they do isn't going to click for everyone.
The Fox Festivals (The Five Fox Festival and the Big Fox Festival) in the second half of 2017 were the last series of shows that Yui performed before her illness/injury prevented her from continuing. They were also the final shows that Mikio Fujioka (RIP Kogami) took part in before the accident that took his life. It was the beginning of the most difficult period in Babymetal's history.
Since Yuimetal's statement announcing her departure from Babymetal, she has only commented once publicly, that was in the Sakura Gakuin 10th Anniversary memorial book that released in 2021. Since then, there has been no news about her, although she is still listed as a contracted talent on the Amuse website. On the rare occasions when Su and Moa have been asked about her (which is reportedly a taboo topic in interviews these days), they have said that they still talk to Yui and that she is doing well. Unless Yui reappears in some other project, I don't think we will ever find out what happened, and that's okay, we aren't owed an explanation. Those of us who love and appreciate Yui just want her to be well and happy in whatever she chooses to do.
Not in response to haters = I agree Leave it all behind! 😛
ありがとう!
The five major fox festivals were held in Black (men only), Red (women only), Gold (teens only), Silver (60+ and elementary school students), and White (white paint only).
The original video looks like silver + red. I love the Awadama of the Red Fox Festival, which the three princesses seemed to enjoy very much.
🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵
Yeah it looks like a lot of the Red Fox festival, Yui and Moa seem to smile a lot more in that one, even Su smiles a lot.
dubstep metal
Nice reaction! Have you guys reacted to BxMxCx already?
I didn’t see it in your playlist.
I’ve never been interested in Metal but Babymetal is the exception! 🤘
🤘🇺🇦❤️🦊
I am 99% sure that the drum shuffle in this song is the famous Amen Break, playing on the backing track. Same in Catch Me If You Can.
👊🏽⚡️🦊🤘🏾
The band and girls feel like two entities (like a double act) but I cant quiet decide that the band gets poisoned by a kawai demon, or the girls getting possessed by a metal devil lol
"Awadama" Fever = "Bubble gum" Fever
Love this song. So fun.
what i love about Babymetal is that they are for everybody. Red Fox Festival was only for women and if you look at 9:04 you will look at the crowd of all females. that is why at certain points the sound is higher pitched than normal because of the women. they did another show for all male and then all older people and kids. at the Red Fox Festival and the song Megitsune it is so different hearing all females with this song since it is a female empowerment song. others have said that this song was a big FU to the haters talking about them being bubble gum music. like you said the best way to respond to the haters is do something in their face and to me this they did. might not be my favorite song but like it because of the story.
Adawama is an actual Japanese candy brand and this is probably the only metal song about chewing bubble gum in the most poppiest way ever conceived.
We would all love to know what happened to Yui, but only The Fox God knows
Ratatata
This is one of Yui's favorite songs to perform. No matter what version you watch, she's always smiling a real smile, not an idol one.
But Yui is no longer there, she never liked metal, we have to leave the past behind now it's Su, Moa and Momo!!!!
Awadama is a candy/gum product.
🤘🦊🤘
