Mick Mars is legendary. He was 30 yrs old when he placed his ad for "the rudest loudest guitarist seeking a loud rude band" in the LA paper. It was answered by a 23yr old wanna be bass player who enrolled two 19yr olds to form this band. Mick cut his teeth on the early underground bluegrass/country scene that went absolutely nowhere. He did however gain experience on the road with a touring band, understood the layout, and learned what it took to "make it" ..... long before the Crue. The guy was a decade older than his bandmates, understood song structure, chord progressions, scales, studio production and so forth against 3 guys who just graduated high school who all they wanted to do was "get laid". THIS IS A FACT. Mick was ready to hang it up before he got the newspaper ad answer from Nikki and he went on to literally write every hit they ever had. Mick IS Motley. Period. He deserves his respect and he 100% deserves his 25% cut from this band. To take that away from him after he carried them for FOUR fking decades is criminal.
Edit:I didn't watch this video but after going back after my comment, I did. The people who are backing Mick in this industry are legendary in their own right. That speaks volumes on Mick's presence in the music world. Neal Schon never speaks for anyone. He's always been a self absorbed pretentious asshole but to hear his stand up for Mick ... I applaud. Ty Neal. The rest, they desrve a clap too. This is the respect Micks peers have for him and we as fans should too.

Until the age of 33, I didn’t play, wasn’t interested in, and didn’t even listen to Rock. I knew, but I didn't listen. Then he opened - Motley and especially Mick. His riffs inspired me to play. I didn't learn his songs, I write by myself, but he helped me understand what I want.
I was - bald, now I have hair below my shoulders
I play bass, guitar and drums.
I ride a motorcycle and I have Motley yelling every time I ride.
Without those riffs, it would just be another band for a couple of weeks. This band is Mars, he carries all the music, idea and originality.
Just like the Motleys in the 90s weren't Motleys without Vince, so they're not Motleys without Mick. I respect John 5 (although he looks like a young Nikki), but he is always the guitar player in Manson's band for me.
Mick is Motley's heart. I don't know who wants to listen to them without it.
I am disappointed in Motley, as in people who, because of money - deceive listeners and after 40 years - betrayed a friend and partner.

They would have just been another glam metal flash in the pan that burned out before the 80s ended had it not been for Mick Mars keeping his head down and playing his instrument with discipline, respect, and focus. Trying to get rid of Mick really exposes them a lot... and that's very depressing as a fan.

I fully support Mick and hope all this works out in his favor. Touring or not, he played a MAJOR role in building up Motley Crue to what it is today and creating all those hits that his fellow bandmates are currently playing on tour and profiting off of. The band would not be where they are today without Mick and he deserves all his fair share of the credit and compensation for it. And honestly, Mick is THE reason I got into Motley Crue and remain a fan. Was fortunate to see him live on the recent stadium tour and he delivered an awesome performance. The weak points of the band are Vince’s vocals and the awful mixing of their sound where the bass and drum drowned out everything else including Mick’s guitar. I would have considered seeing them again with John 5 but if Mick loses I may boycott any live shows that don’t include Mick as the other three don’t deserve the money or support.

So they all signed a contract back in 2008 about giving up their share if someone retired from the band or touring. Then they signed another contract in 2015 saying they all were retiring from touring. Fast forward to a couple years ago when they all agreed to break the 2015 contract and start touring again. Seems like breaking that 2015 contract makes the 2008 contract null and void as they didn't make another contract regarding this current tour.
