    Nice work!
    I must say that I didn't think your shop looked that bad originally, but I would go nuts with walls made of bricks and plaster that fall to pieces if you look at it to hard, so the framing and plywood is definitely a great improvement!

    Talking about bad things in the block wall.... there could actually be asbestos in it. Nothing to panic about, but a real possibility. Covering with the wood is about the best way to manage the possible risk. (Asbestos Inspector is one of the many hats I wear.)
    I have a shelf set at 8' in my garage with 12' walls. I put my workbench along the wall under the shelf. I have a short step stool I use to get on top of the work bench and then I can walk back and forth and the shelf is at eye level, easy to access.
