After reading 141 comments. I have to ask. Did they fix the fat back tire speed glitch on the Gargoyle motorcycle? With that glitch , during the lobby wide top speed competition was easy. Normally won them with wheelie top speed of 185 mph.
Thanks so much for the video! I've been waiting for a big name on youtube and in the gta community to bring attention to this stupid "fix" that rockstar has put in. I myself am part of the drifting community and used the futo gtx. Safe to say that as long as this patch is in place I wont be doing any drifting.
I get why they made the Subaru 22b (sultan rs clasic) and the Celica GT4 (calico gtf) not drift because they're awd and rally cars. Dunno why they did it to the s2000(dinka) datsun 620 (warrener hkr) and the ae86 (futo)
There was NO REASON to put a handling flag on these cars. There is NO COMPETITIVE EDGE to using a stanced, low grip on any of the tuners vehicle in any street race unless you do a custom straight line race. It COMPLETLY RUINS the drifting experience as you no longer accelarate during rev ups, all you can do now is power slide awkwardly. It was also so much fun to barrel down the highway at 160mph knowing any little mistake would cause a massive crash. For the first time in gta you could feel true speed at the expense of control. Revert the change. Fix back the Tuners. Drop the handling flags.
I completely agree, it’s crazy how this disgrace of a company can make fun things that are in the game terrible. They don’t know wtf to prioritize. For example, god mode glitches that have been in the game for months now are still not fixed, and yet they choose to “fix” this. Rockstar is an absolute joke.
In a way the low grip tires at that speed felt scary to drive which if you were driving 160 mph down a highway you wpuld be both entertained and scared at the same time. It was probably the closest to real life driving gta had
I still miss the veseris. Best bugged car they have ever added and honestly that is how fast i want cars to go in gta. Makes breaking oh so more important. And could make drag racing even cooler.
The best bit about the viseris was that it was even faster in the long run than rocket stuff trust me if everything does 180 than the novelty runs out quickly
The best glitch car I liked was the armored karuma. You ran it over with the tank and broke 3out of the 4 tires off the car. Then open the right rear door, get in and start driving boom car with glitch out and start flying, it was hilarious to see.
I just find it hilarious that half a year later, when the dust settled, everyone had fun with the "calicos" reaching crazy speeds, R* suddenly goes "oh yeah, that, it doesn't work anymore, go cope, kid". Like everyone got used to it and Rockstar suddenly slaps you in the face for something they forgot about.
I'm glade I bought all the tuner DLC cars through glitched dupped money. I can't imagine how annoying it most be to grind for hours to buy and upgrade these cars, only for R* to gimp their performance 6 months later. It's even worse if you bought these cars with actual money. Fuck this company, they're never getting a dime from me.

When it comes to freemode...sadly its always the 2-3 same vehicles that I use... the state of the lobby can turn from smurf village to ww3 in less than 60 seconds...and one grows tired of getting blown up in a mamba topless whilst minding their own business.

I used my futo gtx after this update and immediately noticed something was wrong. Hilariously, the normal futo is now BETTER for drifting due to it having HBB, even though the GTX was targeted for drifting fans!
One of the reasons why I don't play this game as much is because you just don't know anymore what you're getting yourself into when you buy a car. Of course, some cars will be slower than others, but many DLC cars in this game (especially the ones with all the advanced flags) don't follow the basic rules from day-1 or the majority of cars. I'd say the worst case is the Jester Classic, a car loved by many people that for some reason someone at Rockstar decided that it would have broken shock absorbers and faulty fuel injectors. Either "fix" all the cars, or don't touch anything at all.
Yep, this is why I NEVER buy any new, released cars until AFTER Broughy has tested them. He's the only one I trust to put out fair, unbiased results of the cars.
Why would the Jester classic be a broken car? The Mk. IV Supra it was based was never know to be a good car for track racing and its fame is generally associated to the motor attaining 700 hp on stock internals.
100% - They really need somebody like Broughy on the team who would test everything and balance the cars. At the end of the day its a Car game. We race them, collect them, have car shows in the game. The more R* add news cars - the more handling flags they add - but they dont seem to understand how these flags change things regarding this balance.
Cheers for highlighting this. As you said, this change greatly impacts those of us who try to drift these cars. Without the middrive, they are pretty useless as drift cars which defeats the whole point of them being advertised as such (IMO).
Only the rt3000 and futo can still slide. They haven't changed too much, I already didn't use handbrake boost for them since they slide well enough and are more controllable without using it.
@@WESTBLACKMANE real drifters despise handbrake use, be a real drifter and stop cheating with handbrake. If you drifting a stanced banshee or something similar, then fair enough they kind of need it. But there is no excuse for using handbrake with low grip tires.

Banshees and other non low grip tired drift cars are the only ones that need any handbrake use at all for drifting. "It lags the game" No it doesn't. I've owned an S2 before this, and they're retarded. The game glitched when I drove my fucking CLUB, and that was because it was a full lobby with two booters.
@@VapidFreak what actually lags the game is putting a ridiculous amount of bs into the game that has bombs and then puts 32 instead of 16 people into a lobby. The Ps3 had problems at 16, the ps4 didnt. The ps4 had problems at 32 (now also at around 20 cause of all that added bs). Hopefully the "enhanced" version isnt a 64+ lobby so the ps5 also gets to its limits.
@@Wraikey honestly its more of a bad coding, if FiveM can handle more than 100+ players why GTAO cant? using PC myself and yes having full lobby compared to empty session does indeed drop my fps from 80-90 to 50-60, while in FiveM (it has custom server files) i got stable 40-60 fps on 300 players server.
I was getting rather bored with GTA until the tuner DLC, when I got into drifting, both with low grip tuners, and cars like the Standard Futo and Rapid GT. But now all my drift tuners are awful to drive and I could swear the mid drift boost feels weird on my pre-tuner cars.

Btw wanted to let you know the upcoming Zeno has a Xa-21 collision bug. Avoid the mirror upgrades to prevent your car from flying in the air over random bumps when it comes out.
@@DBrealmadrid9606 Did a little digging on Reddit and found an old thread about the XA-21 post arena war update that had some ground clipping issue once custom mirrors were added. So, I guess leaving the mirrors alone is the fix.
I feel like there's no way the Growler still has the same top speed as before. It feels SOOOOO slow now in comparison. I'm so sad, that was probably my favorite car of all the tuners, and it got nerfed the hardest out of all of 'em. RIP Growler
Damn I won it on the Lucky Wheel this week in the casino, upgraded it and was looking forward to using it. Now I never got to use a fully upgraded one before this update.
One of my favorite cars of the game. The acceleration was incredible. Good top end speed too it was lacking a little in the midrange but boy I love that car. Imma high level GTA 5 racer and compete wit cars that are not so easy to drive. You have to have throttle control racing the Growler, the back end will get away from you easy
It doesnt benefit from bumps anymore so thats the reason why the top speed changed. It doesnt change in Broughy’s videos because he tests cars in flat roads :)
Absolutely ruined their drifting potential! Even the cars slower for races (Warrener, RT3000, and Remus) were great at drifting so they all had uses. Now all the cars are awful at drifting and weird to race with it

from the R* created races there was one I found where you could exploit a Comet S2 with low grip. I think it's called Trench IV? It's a transform race starting with sports in which you quickly transform into a Rocket Voltic after 2 fairly long straights and a very subtle corner in between them. You only use your custom S2 on that section, so no downside to not having grip. But it's a transform race, it's rare to ever find people who know what they're doing on those, it's not like you'd need that advantage - I tried it a couple of times for fun, you can really watch them disappear in your rear mirror lol

I mean it sucks but that's just what Rockstar do: Patch out everything that's fun. Because in some rare cases people could use it for these missions where you have to go across the whole map and with faster cars the mission could be actual fun and maybe even done quicker, Rockstar can not accept this, better they ruin all Tuner cars to get rid of that fast driving fun.
It’s ironic how they changed missions to give you more money the longer you take, we do them quicker to earn less money and now they’re patching our cars that let us do them faster, further punishing us for doing them quickly, as if less pay wasn’t already enough. They’re trying so hard to keep this game a time wasting grind.
Yeah going 180mph on a highway in a comet s2 was really fun and the thing took like 500m distance to go down to 0 and wanted to spin out on every turn that wasn't minimal so not like it was going to be exploited in any way, damn it rockstar
I had a lot of fun with the Dominators and even managed to win a bunch of races against faster cars but they're joyless tubs now, you just can't balance the rear on the throttle like before. Same for the Tailgater S, they may as well have made it all wheel drive.
These cars were way too expensive to have the hand brake boost removed, that makes them utterly useless for drifting now. I have been in both the drift and race scenes for years, this sucks! I will say to be fair, they didn't drift all that well anyway... they really needed just a little more torque mid slide. I tried multiple and none drifted quite like the OG cars. (Futo, Stanced Shchwartzer, older muscle cars, etc). Still very sad about this though.
This is really quite the let down, the first day I got my Calico, I had soooo much frickin fun using the low grip/lowered set up, I seriously drove around with that car for hours on end, just driving around LS randomly. Being able to go 170-180 MPH down the highway because of curb boosts, or even down some city streets if you controlled it well enough, and that made it so much fun for me, I felt like I was driving a really high powered vehicle, something I've never really felt for a long time in GTAO. Annnnd now that's gone, because Rockstar has always gotta remove the fun stuff, yet I can almost guarantee that Titan bug from CEO warehouse sells is still in the game. I hope that is not, but ayiyi, I thought Rockstar was getting back on track with good quality of life features, but this is a setback for sure, specifically with the way they did it. It's crazy how noticeable the top speed difference is on the Calico now, that car was one of the most fun things I've experienced in GTAO. RIP to the Corvette speed of the Calico, gone but never forgotten, you will be dearly missed.
I was okay with the advance handling flags that were added to the previous vehicles from the Souther San Andreas Super Sports Update, Nightclub DLC, etc. mainly because I understood it was for testing purposes. The Jester Classic for example would be in the top 10 for Sports had it not been affected by these handling flags. But would it really that much for them to reverse their decision and take these flags off? And as for these Tuner DLC cars I believe the reason they did this was to promote people to buy Expanded and Enhanced, think about it. Why would they fix this “patch” when they have a new version of the game coming out? They did this so people would be more keen to buy the next version of the game. It sucks but it makes sense. Why else would they do such a sh*ty fix?

So what better way to motivate people to spend their money than to ruin the experience on what’s now considered old Gen (PS4/Xbox One) I wouldn’t doubt if Expanded and Enhanced has all of the handling flags fixed. So don’t think R* is gonna do shit for old Gen when it comes to advance handling flags.
@@remu6841 What he meant is, rockstar is intentionaly making this version of the game unfun so that they could sell more of the enhanced version, cause average consumers will assume enhanced means better, more fun in this case, forgetting it's from the same people.
Great video. The handling flag doesn't just get activated with handbrake boost. But with any traction loss, such as oversteering. Even if they prevent handbrake boost, I just don't want to lose power to wheels. Which is what actually affects performance. HBB is fun though for free roam. I'd like all advanced flags to be removed and just individually nerf top speeds of certain cars the correct way.
Just had a race where the power completely dropped out after a corner, would have lost but I think the same happened to the other guy who ended up quitting. Looks like street races are pointless now.
Watching this video now after seeing all of the HSW cars made me come up with a theory. Rockstar nerfed the tuners because they were worried that the tuner cars would take some attention away from the HSW cars. They probably thought of a scenario where somebody would look at the HSW car and say "why would I need this if my S2 already goes faster".
Rockstar needs to realize that in a game where you have flying rocket bikes, space cannons and laser guns a few unintentionally broken things are fine....ie the Tuners cars and even the Kuruma glitch
I find it very amusing how R* make an effort to fix this type of speed bug every time it crops up: the Viseris, the Tuners, the Slamvan Custom, hell they even kinda accidentally patched the Rapid GT, and yet the 811 is still completely broken. I guess its brokenness doesn't really make itself known on console and that's how it's slipped under the radar. I hope they never notice it and it continues to be broken because it's extremely fun

If Rockstar ever decide to actually fix anything with cars, their first priority should be the car classes themselves. There's so many cars that should not be where they are today.
This is what makes FiveM and Project Homecoming so much better. You don't have a bunch of idiots fooling around with cars and aspects of them that they don't even understand themselves. I really loved racing street races but now I feel like I absolutely forgot how to drive those cars. Jester RR, Sultan, Vectre or cypher were my top cars for any street race. Now I feel like I'm gonna crash while going over some bump plus traction is a little bit weird too.
i noticed this with the cypher in the snow, and the sultan with lowgrips in the snow. Everytime i would initiate a higher speed 4 wheel drift, or a regular drift, it would bog down and straighten out, or with the awd, yank the wheels to the nearest object that would destroy the car. The cypher was one of my favorite drift cars, just because how unpredictable it was, and how good it handled low speed drifting. Really a shame. And also the sultans drifts were not initiated or used the handbrake. the cypher however did use it, but that was to keep it in a low gear. however, a seasoned drifter can use the regular brake to a similiar advantage, just no, no lift shifts

But the Hydra speed glitch that has been in the game for 7 years almost, (which allows you to go from Paleto to LSIA under 3 minutes) still remains the king of fast travel across large distances. But a car that can outrun a MK2? Need to fix that immidieatly.
Another thing I have noticed when driving the tuner cars while doing donuts or drifts at low RPMs, it seems like the character continuously hits the handbrake throughout the donut or drift. You can even see the rear tires stop spinning as if you're hitting the handbrake.
The Dominator GTT and ASP are shit at donuts now. Fucking cockstar ruining fun for the sake of shark cards. RIP my Mustang Cobra R build. Also the Futo is fucked too 😭
So annoying that they did this again. They removed HBB in 2015 with the Lowriders DLC. Everyone were complaining about it and next update (1.31) they added it back in the game stating "Fixed some issues related to vehicle drifting and double-clutching, thanks to feedback from the racing community." I am so frustrated with R*. It's disappointment after disappointment.
This is what I always think about when they add these flags. Like broughy said, hbb isn't really used in racing too often. Its more for free roam stuff, drag racing or drifting. Its already proven to be disliked. They have full access to top speed and acceleration files if they really wanted to correctly nerf cars.
Never missed my banshee so much. I remember the day i was able to return. I still have photos i was so happy to be sliding again. 😂 They really do need to just revert, no bullshit tweak to meet us halfway in our demands. Just a revert. Didnt even start this dlc after seeing what they did to my futo. I was disheartened. Lol.
I won the Growler from the podium over the weekend and noticed the weird handbrake boost behaviour but thought nothing of it. Having never driven it before I just thought it was a quirk of the car itself! At least I didn't waste money buying it, I suppose.

Exactly, these high top speeds induced by the stancing have no harm to anyone & is quite fun to mess around, the way they go about using the Viseris' AHF in solving it is very lazily done without considering the consequences of affecting the driftability, such brain deads R* is! Have you considered starting a new petition to remove this AHF from all the Tuners cars Broughy?
Ik, all they did to the bouncy AHF was toning it down a bit not completely remove it. But this Viseris AHF on the Tuners needs some serious reconsideration on their end 'cause it's such a big deal for the drifting community.
The thing that bugs me is that none of it is unified across the cars. If they all didn't HBB, kerb boost, etc I'd probably be fine with it. But I don't understand why on some cars it's 'ok' but on others it's not. I enjoyed the worse handling but increased top speed with the stanced cars. It was pretty fun, challenging and just good fun to drive around in free roam.
Some interesting overall insights there into the changes Rockstar made to the Tuners class with the Contract update, but damn that's actually a great shame they basically hard nerfed the overall category, from those crazy fun lowgrip stanced top speeds, to just even the general performance with those cars being notably slower per lap than before :/ but woah I had no idea about how insane the Viseris once was🤯 seems I'll have those videos to check back on and see the speed demon it was back then!😂👍
So rockstar will patch a fun high speed glitch and clothing glitches. but not godmode, orbital spam, rocket spam, godmode van, and Infinite off the radar. Good to see where they’re priorities are 👍

God forbid we have some fun in this game. Almost every patch feels like a slap in the face to the community somehow. I still don't understand why they walled off the cargo compartment of the Bombushka.
Thanks for putting this out,but I feel you underestimate the level tuners have been affected in street and pursuit races,not to mention general driving around.These cars threw me back in the seat in ways I thought wasn't possible through a screen.No other racing game drives like those tuners did,and I'm not a drifter,just a driver.I don't think it would be so bad if they were always this way,but they weren't.I didn't play daily and spend GTA $ millions for what is in my garages,and quite frankly,I want that money back if I cant drive the cars I bought and won.I wont be winning any more.I am truly saddened,plus one second lap times added up to dozens of exhilarating turns,skids and slides that just aren't there anymore.

So they "fix" the top speed "problem" but do noting about the ultra bouncy collision and suspension physics issues that make the tuner cars actually bad to race?
Great info as always, though I wish more than a second or two was spent on the Dominator ASP and Tailgater S, as at least a little more assurance that they haven't lost their spots as I think the #2 in muscle(after the new Buffalo) and #2-ish in sedans(after the schafter twins).
I'm really really sad to hear this. especially because its basically an update revert. Drifting was actually the most fun in gta5 online I had in a while and I´m just now realizing it was the only thing that kept me so intrigued to the game. But since it´s over now and I actually don´t think that this will get fixed, because THIS is a bug. I will actually not play it that often anymore which is also another thing that I don´t want, because I really think this is a great game and it has lots and lots of potential. Just throwing it away feels so not compliant with me... Anyways who am I to ask.
I agree 100%, the crazy top speed with stanced and low grip tires was the only reason for me to use it on Comet S2 but now I have literally no reason anymore to use that feature on any car! Also, the Tuners shouldn't be slower now!
They just feel terrible to drive now. Racing is terrible since everyone just uses the jester now plus they were race cars that was the point. Rockstar won't ever get any of my money again
Cypher got nerfed and i'm sad. Low stance was my shit with it, normal tires, and go sideways doing 80. I was so hype seeing that M3 lookalike, and drove it to hell and back, but the minute the new DLC installed and loaded up, I jumped in and was like 'Look how they massacred my boy"
I doubt only drifters are affected by this problem. I can guarantee that people playing the tuner contracts or just freemode are suffering these changes. Handbrake boost is a huge thing for me as a player, because it allows me to put some gap between my pursuers and me, or simply allows me to make a quick escape when cornered or when the terminator police AI crash into my car (don't even wanna mention the awful npc's). All the cars that have these horrendous flags feel butchered, like if you were driving with black smoke coming out of the hood. It f*cks up the engine sound, performance and more importantly, it makes u feel like u paid for something that doesn't even work properly.
That's what I hate about the tuners DLC. All of the cars should have been equal in most ways, maybe one has a slightly higher top speed, one has a slightly higher acceleration, one has slightly better handling than etc... But all of them should have been useable and great in Tuner Races, having one or two cars being completely the best is dumb and boring! That's why I stopped playing it.... 🤷
You're correct, seeing as how the whole DLC is based on racing. I had hopes that more cars and tracks would be released so more than four cars can be used, but I'm done giving Cockturd the benefit of the doubt. They will probably just abandon the DLC.
All the ones that were bad/slow for racing were the fun drifting cars. Zr350, Remus, Futo GTX, Dom GTT, rt3000, Warrener HKR..I don’t think rockstar intended for all 17 cars to be competitive racers, it was always a few great race cars, a few great drift cars, and a couple for the car collectors.

Rockstar added drift tires for 17 specific cars, then made those cars' handling lines impossible for drifting, thus making the drift tires fUCKING POINTLESS
tbf the viseris did receive an advanced flag (namely, the short shifter) and so did the tuners. they behave almost exactly like the hotring sabre, which has just 2 advanced flags (short shifter and bouncy suspension).
it was already known they were gonna be nerfed because the fact that lowering the suspension meant even more speed made 0 sense (like everything else in GTA) and tbh they were extremely unbalanced for the most part plus it was obviously a bug and a game breaking one at that that said I will agree they shouldn't have nerfed the normal states of the cars because it's plain dumb but of course this is Rockstar and they don't care what anyone thinks

Have you tried testing the comet s2 while just lowered? I ran some drag races with my friends against the rsx and they seem to have the exact same top speed
They're just trying to protect the casuals. It seems obvious that these "drifters" you talk about are just people who are hardcore into these bugs like brake boosting or whatever it's called. Casuals complained a lot and got rockstar to nerf these cars, that's how "balancing" is supposed to work.
I don't know about you, but I haven't heard or seen a single person moan about middriving or brakeboosting or even shortshifting, and the few that I have heard are overall an incredibly small minority

It's kind of ironic how they remove these bugs when they make the game fun and deeper, and totally fit in with the whole lore of the American parody and cheating your way to the top.
The Sultan mainly lost it's 'personality' One used to more or less surf it with brakes and throttle for the most fun, and the best times outside full kerbbosting. Now it's just slightly snappy in the corners.. (and the Cypher is in my eyes dead as a neutral commuter with some extra speed on the freeways) I really loved the Street racing, they fully killed it off for me. 1700 races of fun.. and now the fun in Street Racing fully died for me.
I haven’t stopped doing tuner contracts, and it sucks to drive the dominator asp... the sultan does feel lacking too... in racing they haven’t really affected me personally though since I barely race and when I do, it’s pursuit where it’s more knowing your tracks than speed that makes you victorious...
GTA online motto is "No fun allowed" You want to use your cargo plane as a cargo plane? Here, an invisible wall! You want to use the same jacket you bought but with the zippwr open? Go buy another! Oh, you want to do the missions with the vehicles you bought with your hard earned cash? Nah, only in free mode! Oh, you're having fun with this glitch that launchers arena vehicles in the air? Or that glitched cop clothes? Or winning too big in the casino? Patched! Oh, a hacker is annoying you, someone is using a god-mode glitch and orbital spam? Welp, cant do anything about that. But if you make a mod to play story mode with a friend, we will sue you to oblivion! (Even though we will not launch any single player DLC)
The rt3000 doesnt even rev high enough to hit "vtec" or vvti anymore... it was already so slow before and now i cant even enjoy the sound of high revs in the hills. I don't care if it's slower, just gimme back my revs!
Apparently the Deveste Eight is heavier now because of this update. But to be honest I think it has made the car more stable. When you get a chance, can your share your thoughts on its performance?
I loved driving around in the comet S2 before the update, accidentally used it when I wasn’t meaning to in a race and it was noticeably slower….I ended up selling it
As someone who only wants to drift in gta this has completely fucked me off considering someone of them were actually really good to use. Now you just can’t use them

After reading 141 comments. I have to ask. Did they fix the fat back tire speed glitch on the Gargoyle motorcycle? With that glitch , during the lobby wide top speed competition was easy. Normally won them with wheelie top speed of 185 mph.
Thanks so much for the video! I've been waiting for a big name on youtube and in the gta community to bring attention to this stupid "fix" that rockstar has put in. I myself am part of the drifting community and used the futo gtx. Safe to say that as long as this patch is in place I wont be doing any drifting.
I get why they made the Subaru 22b (sultan rs clasic) and the Celica GT4 (calico gtf) not drift because they're awd and rally cars. Dunno why they did it to the s2000(dinka) datsun 620 (warrener hkr) and the ae86 (futo)

There was NO REASON to put a handling flag on these cars. There is NO COMPETITIVE EDGE to using a stanced, low grip on any of the tuners vehicle in any street race unless you do a custom straight line race. It COMPLETLY RUINS the drifting experience as you no longer accelarate during rev ups, all you can do now is power slide awkwardly. It was also so much fun to barrel down the highway at 160mph knowing any little mistake would cause a massive crash. For the first time in gta you could feel true speed at the expense of control. Revert the change. Fix back the Tuners. Drop the handling flags.

I completely agree, it’s crazy how this disgrace of a company can make fun things that are in the game terrible. They don’t know wtf to prioritize. For example, god mode glitches that have been in the game for months now are still not fixed, and yet they choose to “fix” this. Rockstar is an absolute joke.
In a way the low grip tires at that speed felt scary to drive which if you were driving 160 mph down a highway you wpuld be both entertained and scared at the same time. It was probably the closest to real life driving gta had

The best bit about the viseris was that it was even faster in the long run than rocket stuff trust me if everything does 180 than the novelty runs out quickly
The best glitch car I liked was the armored karuma. You ran it over with the tank and broke 3out of the 4 tires off the car. Then open the right rear door, get in and start driving boom car with glitch out and start flying, it was hilarious to see.

I just find it hilarious that half a year later, when the dust settled, everyone had fun with the "calicos" reaching crazy speeds, R* suddenly goes "oh yeah, that, it doesn't work anymore, go cope, kid". Like everyone got used to it and Rockstar suddenly slaps you in the face for something they forgot about.

I'm glade I bought all the tuner DLC cars through glitched dupped money. I can't imagine how annoying it most be to grind for hours to buy and upgrade these cars, only for R* to gimp their performance 6 months later. It's even worse if you bought these cars with actual money. Fuck this company, they're never getting a dime from me.

When it comes to freemode...sadly its always the 2-3 same vehicles that I use... the state of the lobby can turn from smurf village to ww3 in less than 60 seconds...and one grows tired of getting blown up in a mamba topless whilst minding their own business.

I used my futo gtx after this update and immediately noticed something was wrong. Hilariously, the normal futo is now BETTER for drifting due to it having HBB, even though the GTX was targeted for drifting fans!

One of the reasons why I don't play this game as much is because you just don't know anymore what you're getting yourself into when you buy a car.
Of course, some cars will be slower than others, but many DLC cars in this game (especially the ones with all the advanced flags) don't follow the basic rules from day-1 or the majority of cars.
I'd say the worst case is the Jester Classic, a car loved by many people that for some reason someone at Rockstar decided that it would have broken shock absorbers and faulty fuel injectors.
Either "fix" all the cars, or don't touch anything at all.
Yep, this is why I NEVER buy any new, released cars until AFTER Broughy has tested them. He's the only one I trust to put out fair, unbiased results of the cars.

Why would the Jester classic be a broken car? The Mk. IV Supra it was based was never know to be a good car for track racing and its fame is generally associated to the motor attaining 700 hp on stock internals.
100% - They really need somebody like Broughy on the team who would test everything and balance the cars. At the end of the day its a Car game. We race them, collect them, have car shows in the game.
The more R* add news cars - the more handling flags they add - but they dont seem to understand how these flags change things regarding this balance.

Cheers for highlighting this. As you said, this change greatly impacts those of us who try to drift these cars. Without the middrive, they are pretty useless as drift cars which defeats the whole point of them being advertised as such (IMO).
Only the rt3000 and futo can still slide. They haven't changed too much, I already didn't use handbrake boost for them since they slide well enough and are more controllable without using it.

@@VapidFreak what actually lags the game is putting a ridiculous amount of bs into the game that has bombs and then puts 32 instead of 16 people into a lobby. The Ps3 had problems at 16, the ps4 didnt. The ps4 had problems at 32 (now also at around 20 cause of all that added bs). Hopefully the "enhanced" version isnt a 64+ lobby so the ps5 also gets to its limits.

@@Wraikey honestly its more of a bad coding, if FiveM can handle more than 100+ players why GTAO cant? using PC myself and yes having full lobby compared to empty session does indeed drop my fps from 80-90 to 50-60, while in FiveM (it has custom server files) i got stable 40-60 fps on 300 players server.
I was getting rather bored with GTA until the tuner DLC, when I got into drifting, both with low grip tuners, and cars like the Standard Futo and Rapid GT. But now all my drift tuners are awful to drive and I could swear the mid drift boost feels weird on my pre-tuner cars.
Yeah I noticed when I try to handbrake boost in any car they now downshift into first gear and won't go over 40mph.

Btw wanted to let you know the upcoming Zeno has a Xa-21 collision bug. Avoid the mirror upgrades to prevent your car from flying in the air over random bumps when it comes out.

@@DBrealmadrid9606 Did a little digging on Reddit and found an old thread about the XA-21 post arena war update that had some ground clipping issue once custom mirrors were added. So, I guess leaving the mirrors alone is the fix.
I feel like there's no way the Growler still has the same top speed as before. It feels SOOOOO slow now in comparison. I'm so sad, that was probably my favorite car of all the tuners, and it got nerfed the hardest out of all of 'em. RIP Growler
Damn I won it on the Lucky Wheel this week in the casino, upgraded it and was looking forward to using it. Now I never got to use a fully upgraded one before this update.
One of my favorite cars of the game. The acceleration was incredible. Good top end speed too it was lacking a little in the midrange but boy I love that car. Imma high level GTA 5 racer and compete wit cars that are not so easy to drive. You have to have throttle control racing the Growler, the back end will get away from you easy

Absolutely ruined their drifting potential! Even the cars slower for races (Warrener, RT3000, and Remus) were great at drifting so they all had uses. Now all the cars are awful at drifting and weird to race with it
Rockstar games should refund me/everyone for the millions wasted trying to perfect my drift build only for them to kill the tuners

from the R* created races there was one I found where you could exploit a Comet S2 with low grip. I think it's called Trench IV? It's a transform race starting with sports in which you quickly transform into a Rocket Voltic after 2 fairly long straights and a very subtle corner in between them. You only use your custom S2 on that section, so no downside to not having grip.
But it's a transform race, it's rare to ever find people who know what they're doing on those, it's not like you'd need that advantage - I tried it a couple of times for fun, you can really watch them disappear in your rear mirror lol

I mean it sucks but that's just what Rockstar do: Patch out everything that's fun.
Because in some rare cases people could use it for these missions where you have to go across the whole map and with faster cars the mission could be actual fun and maybe even done quicker, Rockstar can not accept this, better they ruin all Tuner cars to get rid of that fast driving fun.
It’s ironic how they changed missions to give you more money the longer you take, we do them quicker to earn less money and now they’re patching our cars that let us do them faster, further punishing us for doing them quickly, as if less pay wasn’t already enough. They’re trying so hard to keep this game a time wasting grind.
The dominator asp was one of my favourite cars to drive. I went to use it in day one of the update and it just felt wrong

Yeah going 180mph on a highway in a comet s2 was really fun and the thing took like 500m distance to go down to 0 and wanted to spin out on every turn that wasn't minimal so not like it was going to be exploited in any way, damn it rockstar

I had a lot of fun with the Dominators and even managed to win a bunch of races against faster cars but they're joyless tubs now, you just can't balance the rear on the throttle like before. Same for the Tailgater S, they may as well have made it all wheel drive.
These cars were way too expensive to have the hand brake boost removed, that makes them utterly useless for drifting now. I have been in both the drift and race scenes for years, this sucks! I will say to be fair, they didn't drift all that well anyway... they really needed just a little more torque mid slide. I tried multiple and none drifted quite like the OG cars. (Futo, Stanced Shchwartzer, older muscle cars, etc). Still very sad about this though.
This is really quite the let down, the first day I got my Calico, I had soooo much frickin fun using the low grip/lowered set up, I seriously drove around with that car for hours on end, just driving around LS randomly. Being able to go 170-180 MPH down the highway because of curb boosts, or even down some city streets if you controlled it well enough, and that made it so much fun for me, I felt like I was driving a really high powered vehicle, something I've never really felt for a long time in GTAO. Annnnd now that's gone, because Rockstar has always gotta remove the fun stuff, yet I can almost guarantee that Titan bug from CEO warehouse sells is still in the game. I hope that is not, but ayiyi, I thought Rockstar was getting back on track with good quality of life features, but this is a setback for sure, specifically with the way they did it. It's crazy how noticeable the top speed difference is on the Calico now, that car was one of the most fun things I've experienced in GTAO. RIP to the Corvette speed of the Calico, gone but never forgotten, you will be dearly missed.
I was okay with the advance handling flags that were added to the previous vehicles from the Souther San Andreas Super Sports Update, Nightclub DLC, etc. mainly because I understood it was for testing purposes. The Jester Classic for example would be in the top 10 for Sports had it not been affected by these handling flags. But would it really that much for them to reverse their decision and take these flags off? And as for these Tuner DLC cars I believe the reason they did this was to promote people to buy Expanded and Enhanced, think about it. Why would they fix this “patch” when they have a new version of the game coming out? They did this so people would be more keen to buy the next version of the game. It sucks but it makes sense. Why else would they do such a sh*ty fix?

So what better way to motivate people to spend their money than to ruin the experience on what’s now considered old Gen (PS4/Xbox One) I wouldn’t doubt if Expanded and Enhanced has all of the handling flags fixed. Great video. The handling flag doesn't just get activated with handbrake boost. But with any traction loss, such as oversteering. Even if they prevent handbrake boost, I just don't want to lose power to wheels. Which is what actually affects performance. HBB is fun though for free roam. I'd like all advanced flags to be removed and just individually nerf top speeds of certain cars the correct way.
No reason to nerf the top speeds though. They'll get kicked to the kerb by anything that can handle better
Just had a race where the power completely dropped out after a corner, would have lost but I think the same happened to the other guy who ended up quitting. Looks like street races are pointless now.
Watching this video now after seeing all of the HSW cars made me come up with a theory. Rockstar nerfed the tuners because they were worried that the tuner cars would take some attention away from the HSW cars. They probably thought of a scenario where somebody would look at the HSW car and say "why would I need this if my S2 already goes faster".

Rockstar needs to realize that in a game where you have flying rocket bikes, space cannons and laser guns a few unintentionally broken things are fine....ie the Tuners cars and even the Kuruma glitch
I find it very amusing how R* make an effort to fix this type of speed bug every time it crops up: the Viseris, the Tuners, the Slamvan Custom, hell they even kinda accidentally patched the Rapid GT, and yet the 811 is still completely broken. I guess its brokenness doesn't really make itself known on console and that's how it's slipped under the radar. I hope they never notice it and it continues to be broken because it's extremely fun

If Rockstar ever decide to actually fix anything with cars, their first priority should be the car classes themselves. There's so many cars that should not be where they are today.
This is what makes FiveM and Project Homecoming so much better. You don't have a bunch of idiots fooling around with cars and aspects of them that they don't even understand themselves. I really loved racing street races but now I feel like I absolutely forgot how to drive those cars. Jester RR, Sultan, Vectre or cypher were my top cars for any street race. Now I feel like I'm gonna crash while going over some bump plus traction is a little bit weird too.
yea i felt the exact same way when i was racing with my friend. now i gotta get used to its worse performance thx R*
i noticed this with the cypher in the snow, and the sultan with lowgrips in the snow. Everytime i would initiate a higher speed 4 wheel drift, or a regular drift, it would bog down and straighten out, or with the awd, yank the wheels to the nearest object that would destroy the car. The cypher was one of my favorite drift cars, just because how unpredictable it was, and how good it handled low speed drifting. Really a shame. And also the sultans drifts were not initiated or used the handbrake. the cypher however did use it, but that was to keep it in a low gear. however, a seasoned drifter can use the regular brake to a similiar advantage, just no, no lift shifts

Spare a thought for those of us who've stayed away from Tuner cars so we could enjoy the whole thing from new during our 3 week Christmas holidays

My favorite handling flag was i think the RE7B where it was really fast around bumps
But the Hydra speed glitch that has been in the game for 7 years almost, (which allows you to go from Paleto to LSIA under 3 minutes) still remains the king of fast travel across large distances.
But a car that can outrun a MK2? Need to fix that immidieatly.
Of course, they have to have some way to try and sell a scam. Fuck them.

Another thing I have noticed when driving the tuner cars while doing donuts or drifts at low RPMs, it seems like the character continuously hits the handbrake throughout the donut or drift. You can even see the rear tires stop spinning as if you're hitting the handbrake.

So annoying that they did this again. They removed HBB in 2015 with the Lowriders DLC. Everyone were complaining about it and next update (1.31) they added it back in the game stating
"Fixed some issues related to vehicle drifting and double-clutching, thanks to feedback from the racing community."
I am so frustrated with R*. It's disappointment after disappointment.
This is what I always think about when they add these flags. Like broughy said, hbb isn't really used in racing too often. Its more for free roam stuff, drag racing or drifting. Its already proven to be disliked. They have full access to top speed and acceleration files if they really wanted to correctly nerf cars.

I won the Growler from the podium over the weekend and noticed the weird handbrake boost behaviour but thought nothing of it. Having never driven it before I just thought it was a quirk of the car itself! At least I didn't waste money buying it, I suppose.

Exactly, these high top speeds induced by the stancing have no harm to anyone & is quite fun to mess around, the way they go about using the Viseris' AHF in solving it is very lazily done without considering the consequences of affecting the driftability, such brain deads R* is!

Ik, all they did to the bouncy AHF was toning it down a bit not completely remove it. But this Viseris AHF on the Tuners needs some serious reconsideration on their end 'cause it's such a big deal for the drifting community.

It doesn't have to be. They literally scammed us of the vehicles & if they want to avoid potential suing they'd need to make things right.
The thing that bugs me is that none of it is unified across the cars. If they all didn't HBB, kerb boost, etc I'd probably be fine with it. But I don't understand why on some cars it's 'ok' but on others it's not.
I enjoyed the worse handling but increased top speed with the stanced cars. It was pretty fun, challenging and just good fun to drive around in free roam.
Some interesting overall insights there into the changes Rockstar made to the Tuners class with the Contract update, but damn that's actually a great shame they basically hard nerfed the overall category, from those crazy fun lowgrip stanced top speeds, to just even the general performance with those cars being notably slower per lap than before :/ but woah I had no idea about how insane the Viseris once was🤯 seems I'll have those videos to check back on and see the speed demon it was back then!😂👍
So rockstar will patch a fun high speed glitch and clothing glitches. but not godmode, orbital spam, rocket spam, godmode van, and Infinite off the radar.

Thanks for putting this out,but I feel you underestimate the level tuners have been affected in street and pursuit races,not to mention general driving around.These cars threw me back in the seat in ways I thought wasn't possible through a screen.No other racing game drives like those tuners did,and I'm not a drifter,just a driver.I don't think it would be so bad if they were always this way,but they weren't.I didn't play daily and spend GTA $ millions for what is in my garages,and quite frankly,I want that money back if I cant drive the cars I bought and won.I wont be winning any more.I am truly saddened,plus one second lap times added up to dozens of exhilarating turns,skids and slides that just aren't there anymore.

Great info as always, though I wish more than a second or two was spent on the Dominator ASP and Tailgater S, as at least a little more assurance that they haven't lost their spots as I think the #2 in muscle(after the new Buffalo) and #2-ish in sedans(after the schafter twins).

I'm really really sad to hear this. especially because its basically an update revert. Drifting was actually the most fun in gta5 online I had in a while and I´m just now realizing it was the only thing that kept me so intrigued to the game. But since it´s over now and I actually don´t think that this will get fixed, because THIS is a bug. I will actually not play it that often anymore which is also another thing that I don´t want, because I really think this is a great game and it has lots and lots of potential. Just throwing it away feels so not compliant with me... Anyways who am I to ask.
Only rockstar can patch anything that makes stuff fun when it comes to racing but wouldn't bother fixing god mode glitch or orb spam

I agree 100%, the crazy top speed with stanced and low grip tires was the only reason for me to use it on Comet S2 but now I have literally no reason anymore to use that feature on any car! Also, the Tuners shouldn't be slower now!
I'm not all that mad. Ended up owning almost all of them for free after buying them anyway.
They just feel terrible to drive now. Racing is terrible since everyone just uses the jester now plus they were race cars that was the point. Rockstar won't ever get any of my money again

Cypher got nerfed and i'm sad. Low stance was my shit with it, normal tires, and go sideways doing 80. I was so hype seeing that M3 lookalike, and drove it to hell and back, but the minute the new DLC installed and loaded up, I jumped in and was like 'Look how they massacred my boy"

I doubt only drifters are affected by this problem. I can guarantee that people playing the tuner contracts or just freemode are suffering these changes. Handbrake boost is a huge thing for me as a player, because it allows me to put some gap between my pursuers and me, or simply allows me to make a quick escape when cornered or when the terminator police AI crash into my car (don't even wanna mention the awful npc's). All the cars that have these horrendous flags feel butchered, like if you were driving with black smoke coming out of the hood. It f*cks up the engine sound, performance and more importantly, it makes u feel like u paid for something that doesn't even work properly.
That's what I hate about the tuners DLC. All of the cars should have been equal in most ways, maybe one has a slightly higher top speed, one has a slightly higher acceleration, one has slightly better handling than etc... But all of them should have been useable and great in Tuner Races, having one or two cars being completely the best is dumb and boring! That's why I stopped playing it.... 🤷
You're correct, seeing as how the whole DLC is based on racing. I had hopes that more cars and tracks would be released so more than four cars can be used, but I'm done giving Cockturd the benefit of the doubt. They will probably just abandon the DLC.

All the ones that were bad/slow for racing were the fun drifting cars. Zr350, Remus, Futo GTX, Dom GTT, rt3000, Warrener HKR..I don’t think rockstar intended for all 17 cars to be competitive racers, it was always a few great race cars, a few great drift cars, and a couple for the car collectors.

tbf the viseris did receive an advanced flag (namely, the short shifter) and so did the tuners. they behave almost exactly like the hotring sabre, which has just 2 advanced flags (short shifter and bouncy suspension).

it was already known they were gonna be nerfed because the fact that lowering the suspension meant even more speed made 0 sense (like everything else in GTA) and tbh they were extremely unbalanced for the most part plus it was obviously a bug and a game breaking one at that
that said I will agree they shouldn't have nerfed the normal states of the cars because it's plain dumb but of course this is Rockstar and they don't care what anyone thinks

Have you tried testing the comet s2 while just lowered? I ran some drag races with my friends against the rsx and they seem to have the exact same top speed

They're just trying to protect the casuals. It seems obvious that these "drifters" you talk about are just people who are hardcore into these bugs like brake boosting or whatever it's called. Casuals complained a lot and got rockstar to nerf these cars, that's how "balancing" is supposed to work.
I don't know about you, but I haven't heard or seen a single person moan about middriving or brakeboosting or even shortshifting, and the few that I have heard are overall an incredibly small minority

It's kind of ironic how they remove these bugs when they make the game fun and deeper, and totally fit in with the whole lore of the American parody and cheating your way to the top.
The Sultan mainly lost it's 'personality' One used to more or less surf it with brakes and throttle for the most fun, and the best times outside full kerbbosting. Now it's just slightly snappy in the corners.. (and the Cypher is in my eyes dead as a neutral commuter with some extra speed on the freeways) I really loved the Street racing, they fully killed it off for me. 1700 races of fun.. and now the fun in Street Racing fully died for me.
HBB was a bit unfair from a racing perspective anyway. It is a glitch that should have been patched out years ago.
It never gave a significant advantage to matter in a racing situation.

I haven’t stopped doing tuner contracts, and it sucks to drive the dominator asp... the sultan does feel lacking too... in racing they haven’t really affected me personally though since I barely race and when I do, it’s pursuit where it’s more knowing your tracks than speed that makes you victorious...

The rt3000 doesnt even rev high enough to hit "vtec" or vvti anymore... it was already so slow before and now i cant even enjoy the sound of high revs in the hills. I don't care if it's slower, just gimme back my revs!

It’s exactly the same because weight doesn’t affect performance in this game. It only affects collisions.

I used to have a non-lowgrip Remus for a grip/drift balance in the rain but without the hbb, it's about as useful as the f1 cars.
