First VP shows RC4WD how to do a mystery box, now they're going for the throat of the RTR market. This already has my vote for RTR of the year. Well done Vanquish!
@@lstruggy check out the new Fordyce. Portals are nice for extra ground clearance but that Fordyce is super planted. Selectable overdrive and dig on the Phoenix are neat features but add complexity and weight. As much as I love my portal Phoenix, I would have probably gone with the Fordyce if it had been available first. You really can't go wrong with either one.
@aegixxer1 I'm torn between a scx10 lll or a phoenix.. I'm hoping to do some crawling and some truck pulls.. Idk if that overdrive transmission will be good for pulling or be its weakness.. Plus we are weight limted at 8 pounds for pulling
Now there is an RTR I can recommend to anyone wanting to get into RC crawling and be sure they will be having a blast. Building and driving a Vanquish has been nothing but joy for me, and now those who don't want to Build it first can discover what the rest of us have been raving about. More Vanquish products out on the rocks is only a good thing. Congrats Vanquish you have raised the bar for RTR and it's going to be tough for anyone to touch this for Quality or for Value. Ideal starter platform for anyone wanting to get into the hobby and not have to build a kit to get out and start having fun !
Finally, S80 shocks that leak from the factory! Now all those guys on the FB groups can't blame me anymore hahah. JK, love you Vanquish! Great looking truck, I'm so happy for VP this is a big deal and will likely help a lot of new customers get into the world of Vanquish Products products.
I actually bought the gray RTR yesterday. From my local hobby shop. Truly amazing and the price is right in the sweet spot. For all that comes with the rig and for the capabilities for down the road.
That’s damn cool. It’s a light weight version of what the kit is. For me that would be a great RTR too start with. So versatile and upgradable. The radio looks great for an RTR. Top notch I think. I myself don’t use the overdrive or dig so that’s perfect for me. Damn I think I just sold myself on it and need to buy one now.
always have been and always will take a kit vresion over a RTR. but im glad they came out with a RTR version for the ones that are not builders so they can enjoy the hobby aswell..Nice review as usual.
Unfortunately for me a kit would take me as the say A Few Years Later😂 I’ve built up custom rigs but work & ice in general tends to get in the way. I’m one of the many that doesn’t get paid to play with RC’s. I was looking at getting the chassis kit then boom here it is. Already ordered the Gray one & have a Fusion Pro & metal beadlocks waiting.
Very cool! I'm a fan of RTR but when I eventually get a Phoenix I would like to build a kit but it is a great option to have out there no doubt. It was pretty impressive on those slippery rocks!
Congrats to Vanquish Products Products for bringing their first RTR to market! If I weren’t so neck deep in getting ready for comping in Sept, I’d have to get one.
I got one, over the months I’ve added the dig servo, a fusion SE, some dual stage foams and proline BFG Krawlers and some steel bead locks. It’s an awesome truck. I love the straight axles. It’s given the confidence to build a kit. So yes, RTR’s can lead someone into the hobby and make them a builder.
Im in the market rightnow and ive been watching vids for the past week and been bouncing around getting the Capra or the phenix and i decided to get the kit but im still not an expert on the electronics that was my only concern. But now that theres this RTR im thinking i might just go this route and skip the build in on my own sense it will come with electronics from them aswell i dont have to go out and just go by what you-tubers say. Its a awesome start for someone like me that wants in on the fun. Awesome
I'm just getting into the hobby, my first was an scx 24 that I completely changed everything on. Now I want the Phoenix after watching this. Thank you love all the videos and information you give. SBG rocks.
A Phoenix is now a possibility at my house at that price. Always wanted one and that it is only $80 more than an electronics free kit makes it much more appealing. Great video again Matt, music was a good choice.
Received mine yesterday. It being a straight axle will make me step out of my comfort zone. Can’t wait to run it, and I’m glad to finally get my hands on a vanquish.
Thats it,mate! It runs perfect for a „RTR SWISS ARMY KNIVE“. Please make white crosses on both doors!👍😎And have daily fun… You CAN make it more expensive… but you don‘t have to. It allready drives good,as we have just seen. To have fun, thats the point…
My step-dad just ordered one in red yesterday. The hobby shop here in BC, Canada didn't have any in stock but he really wants this one as he has no RC skills and wanted a great RTR. I always love watching your videos and reviews! Good job Matt! Oh and it was always great to watch when you were live streaming with the EVGA guys!!
I've built a lot of trucks and had a lot of Vanquish Products, products. The one thing that is really pushing me to buy this over the kit is the radio. Usually that is the first thing to go, and this one having so many channels for the other servos is a huge savings to me and makes the RTR platform really worth looking at IMO.
Great video Matt, and nice to see a review before any upgrades. Excellent stuff from vanquish, um just maybe another to add to the collection. Thumbs up...
I hope this is readily available in the UK, I was going to buy another Element next but I think this is a massive game changer. All the other big rc companies are surely going to have to look at their prices, because this thing is going to sell big time.
Don't expect to get any change from £600 with the current exchange rate, shipping and import duty. Still worth buying over a Trx-4 though Imo. Love my Phoenix portal kit 👌
I have been planning on getting the straight axle kit for awhile now. I cant believe how great of a value this is. What a great price. Also, love that color. Looking at y0u Josh >.>
This is an absolutely fantastic RTR offering. I'm not the target audience for it in the least; I love building my trucks too much to give that up, no matter how bad I am at building shocks. But for the folks who want a really capable, well made crawler in an RTR package, this is a fantastic kit to pick up.
This put Vanquish back on my radar although building them to me is actually more fun than running them so there’s that… Is it just me or are those foams a little narrow for those Falkens? They seem to wrinkle and then hold that wrinkle, I was sure you were going to have a blowout at any moment🤣. That gray Phoenix is staring me deep in my soul… Guess I could always take it all apart and build it again.
Your driving vids always bring me back to when I lived in the Beach and would walk down to Queen through the ravine. Wish I had been into RC back then. Gorgeous truck - may be my first Vanquish...
I actually like the tires on a dry day, I did put a 2 in 1 Hobbywing system and that made a huge difference!!!!! It's my everyday crawler with a few different sets of wheels and tires!!!
Neat release, but really I'm just here to see the cold open (like usual) 😄 edit: having finished the video, for an RTR the tires and transmitter are particularly nice!
... "portals are like training wheels" ... that belongs on a T-shirt. My impression is - this goes in a similar direction as the Furitek Cayman. Great working chassis with good radio with a place-holder body focused on performance in a RTR package. Makes sense to me.
If they had offered this 3 months ago...I would have bought one. That being said, I love building my RC cars. I have 2 Vanquish trucks and love them both.
Holy crap... I just ordered my first 1/10 crawler, only ever had 1/24. Phoenix RTR in Gray is on the way! You pushed me to pull the trigger over a TRX4. Gah! Nervous!
Literally was looking at the kit versions dreading having to build because I've never built a kit before. Was wishing for an RTR version and now it's reality. Will definitely be my next purchase.
The radio is a rebranded Turbo Racing P52, you can get one from China for about 40 bucks. It's a great radio, all the relevant specs are there (even expos and others!)
These are definitely perfect for that beginner that wants to get started in the Hobby and wants something that has quality parts and room for upgrades later down the road. I like how they put their price point just below the competition (Axial, Traxxas) but I think they still would have a good selling platform at $499 if they would have included the 1080 instead of the 1060. Just my two cents. Lol
Oh I will be consuming Vanquish products for sure. I was looking at various new releases thinking about which one I may get & them this came out. Game over Vanquish will get my $$$.

Ok been waiting a new rig all I have now is traxxas and i have been trying to decide between a new traxxas or axial but just made up my mind I will give this rig a try
That tech support you spoke of is definitely not there. QC was a long shot too. Remote I received channels 3 and 4 didn’t work and I got maybe 30ish mins on my truck before the trans quit working. Tech support was zero help thankfully amain came in clutch

So basically vanquish is the new axial because they give you bead locks instead of worthless glued wheels which really are used for racing

Ok been waiting a new rig all I have now is traxxas and i have been trying to decide between a new traxxas or axial but just made up my mind I will give this rig a try
Good choice!
That tech support you spoke of is definitely not there. QC was a long shot too. Remote I received channels 3 and 4 didn’t work and I got maybe 30ish mins on my truck before the trans quit working. Tech support was zero help thankfully amain came in clutch
First RTR ever to come with better tires than the kit version?! 😂
Crazy, but true!
BOOYAH ! Nuff said.
