      I’m a sucker for portal axles. My Stance is the most capable for climbing steep technical rocky terrain. The Phoenix is fun cause it has the option to change the overdrive and has dig and is a great trail runner. My H10 handles rocks great, trail great, and powers out of sticky situations like a U4 race buggy. Love anything Vanquish comes up with.

      @@the-ab-outdoors I like it a lot more as a mullet! Most of the driving I do is on rock piles in my yard, so having the extra clearance in the rear is really helpful. And I was able to get it down to around 20% overdrive, which helps power up the sand hills on some of the local trails. It probably hurts the center of gravity, so I’m considering cutting out some non essential parts of the cage to compensate that.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  7 місяців тому +1

      @@ShoddyRC that's awesome!! I agree the portal rear is almost a requirement for most RC crawlers. The leaning of the cage and non needed parts is something we've yet to tackle! 🍻🍻

    I just got an Optic….im gonna build it to crawl ….even with just wheels/tires swap indicates good results…probably gonna install a Fusion pro eventually but want to see how the brushed set up does first.
    I have just about every other vanquish rig and my VRD and Phoenix are highly built…my Pro and Ultra are mostly stock with Fusion SE motors…..the Optic to me is inline with the axial bomber , Capra and maybe Ryft all rolled into one…just not as fast as the Ryft.

      @the-ab-outdoors i have a 2000 classic 4.0 that I restored/built 12 years ago. I just finished restoring it a second time last month. Shocks, brakes, ac system, axles/pumpkins, timing chain, injectors, all seals, interior and exterior lights. Repainted her myself 3 years ago. Not a ding on her and she runs like new. Boom, shitty diffs.. no thanks.

    Next will be either the Fordyce for trail.. or nothing. Wait for the next release.
    Never buy stuff right off the hop.. Wait to see what's what. Pros and Cons.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  8 місяців тому

      With Vanquish it's a crap shoot, typically their stuff is creme of the crop. However they have to eat too, and the market leans towards RTR trucks. Most people just want to buy something they can tinker with and upgrade which is why the sintered stuff is in there (and cost savings on their part obviously lol). We're purchasing a Fordyce real soon as well! 🍻🍻

  • @aaroncarr5725
    @aaroncarr5725 7 місяців тому +1

    The H10 has the same diffs that are in the Stance. People are putting in brushless systems and driving it like a bouncer expecting it to not break 🤦🏼. It was built and designed to run as is. If you upgrade then you need to expect to upgrade more than just the motor. I’m not sure why that’s so difficult to understand.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for the feedback!
      It's a little crazy to expect people to spend $235 dollars additionally on a brand new truck to upgrade all the sintered gearing to machined. That turns a $500 truck into:
      - truck - $500
      - gearing - $235
      - motor (fusion se) - $80
      - wheels (vanquish) - $180
      - tires (generic) - $60
      - your receiver - $40
      Total - $1095 - before tax & shipping
      Just the diff replacements for a single axle are $55 pre tax & shipping.
      So yes we would expect that we should be able to put a cheap fusion se into this truck and not immediately break the rear diff driving it. Another interesting point is people are breaking them with the bone stock systems in it, what is the reason for this?
      Again as stated in the video the main reason for the complaints are due to the history of the Vanquish name, and how this specific product doesn't necessarily follow all that came before it. 🍻🍻

    • @aaroncarr5725
      @aaroncarr5725 7 місяців тому +1

      The only thing you would need to replace are the diff’s. I have a castle mamba/2850 slate in my 410 rtr(sintered gears) and fusion pro in my Stance(sintered gears). Haven’t had any issues. It comes down to driving style. It even says that it’s a trail rig on the box. It’s not made to be a rock bouncer or racer.
      All of the things you listed are the owners choice to do. It’s no different than a real car. You can’t put a V8 in a car with a 4 cylinder and not expect
      to have to upgrade anything else. That’s the way this hobby is. The 1/24 and 1/18 works is even worse. Buy a $150 car that you know you are going to drop $350 in upgrades to it.
      As for people breaking stock vehicles, that’s not an uncommon thing with people that don’t know how to drive. I worked at a hobby shop for a while and people couldn’t understand that parts break. They didn’t want to hear that the vehicle wasn’t indestructible. It didn’t matter if it was a $120 scx24 or a $1500 xmaxx ultimate. They also didn’t want to hear that it was their crap driving that caused the part to break.
      I love my Vanquish trucks. Am I fan boy, sure, but i also love my Axial and Traxxas trucks as well.
      While i may disagree on the Optic, you make great videos! Thanks for the content.
