  • If you’ve been out of badminton for a while due to sickness or injury, you need to get back slowly into the sport. Don’t get discouraged, you’ll eventually get back to your former shape. Here’s a workout you can do to get back on the court.

      Let your ankle heal before you play but there will definitely a bit of discomfort when u play again as it was twisted. Take care of the ankle! 😁🏸

    hello coach,
    I needed this kind of something just at this time! I resumed playing badminton only 3 days before after a break of 2 months because of academics...I have an important match in 4 days but I dont feel much confident...
    I feel like the break has affected my game and i wont be able to play well in the match...

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion

      To be honest no one gets on court feeling like they’ve perfected everything but if u go on court with a positive mindset and to focus on how to get ur points and how to cover your weak spot, you have a better chance in the game. So good luck and focus on strategy😁🏸

    Excellent tips. One question: is the goal of good breathing to help reduce one's heart rate during rhe actual games?

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  4 місяці тому

      Deep Breathing is important for recovery, to re-energize or refocus. Very helpful all the time!😁🏸

      @@CoachKennieAsuncion sounds good. I guess I need to practice it multiple times a day. I notice that I often have shallow breathing when I am anxious. And I play bad when I am too anxious!

    Is it normal to forgot the footwork and some strokes and net play after a long hiatus. I don't seems to get everything right on court than used to be.

      Do u warm up before playing and stretch or cool down after? I hope u do because its suppose to lessen body aches. However, if u haven’t played in a long time or just started then its also bound to happen since a lot of the sudden movement is new. As long as they are not sharp pain and only sore then its fine to proceed and play until your body gets used to it. But if there are sharp pains you have to go see a doctor for that.😁🏸

      @@CoachKennieAsuncion Thanks coach. From today i will start doing warm-up and strech. And i guess it is due to the sudden movement in my boly after a long time. Thanks again. ❤️From India. 🙂🙏

    Hi po coach, I was wondering if you can make a video of a routine you can recommend for recovery po? Right after playing and the day after po sana. Before, a day after playing parang wala lang po sa katawan ko po since I'm a badminton athlete po. Ever since covid happened po, medyo hindi na po na mobilize ang katawan ko kaya medyo rusty na po ata siya. And maybe because of age na din po. By the way I'm 28 years old po coach. Salamat po in advance and more power 👍

    Hello coach kennie,
    I have question about going back to play from injury. Last year on December 2021, I Injured my knee while I was playing badminton and I have been rehab and not be able to play for almost 6 months. Today my knee is feeling alright but I can feel that my knee is not strong enough to go back on court to play because I noticed when I tried go back just friendly play, Im not be able to move around freely like I used to (I can tell it because I have a fear from my previous injury and scared if its happened to me again if im not too carefull) so is there any tips for me that I could recover, gain my strength and go back again play badminton like i used to?

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve had players who experienced acl and had knee operations. It is important that you do strengthening first before coming back to court. When u do come back, know that it will feel a bit different as it went through an operation so slowly work your way. Don’t expext to immediately get back to how you were before operation. But you can get back stronger if you manage it right😁🏸

      @@CoachKennieAsuncion Thankyou coach Kennie, I tried go back to the court and just do hitting the birdie with a friend. I noticed my knee is not strong enough to move arround like I used to and you are right. What I need is to strengthen by slowly. I will try my best to be able to play again.

      Personally, i do yoga to help me with my lower back aches. When i retired from competitive tournaments and did a complete stop my lower back started to ache. I did yoga and wished i had done it sooner it not only helped my back but my whole body as well. So anytime i would play even after long periods of time of not playing, body aches were minimal.😁🏸
