1) Tip
Stay in the moment! Avoid thinking too far in the match. Think about next point not about the result at the end. If you manage to think about the next point and having fun with that - the score in the end will be the best!
2) Tip
Force a smile, Really! If you can’t break out of the cycle of negative thoughts, smile! Only for a few seconds, this reaction will change your attitude in a split second. Perhaps that is all you need to relax back in your performance. Take a look at Kenta Momota, he does this ALL the time!
3) Tip
Race like you don’t care about the outcome! If you find yourself caught up in a negative cycle, you can perform at your peak! It’s impossible! If you then begin to play like you don’t care about the outcome, you will begin to relax and enjoy the event for what it actually is - just another day in your life! The game will take care of itself..
4) Tip
Find your habits on the court! Some people tend to forget how to play matches when they start. They rush around in every moment. If they get a point, they will be serving after 2 seconds. That will cause you to stress. Sofie and I are always brushing our shoes beneath, stepping and then we perform the service. No matter where you play badminton in the world, you can always do YOUR habit. Etc Russell Crowe in the movie Gladiator is always feeling / touching the ground before battling.
5) Tip
Acknowledge that your opponent tries to win aswell! In that process your opponent will make some good strokes and put you under pressure - Squeeze a few mistakes out of you.
Don’t get frustrated - that doesn’t help you.
Instead acknowledging the play from your opponent, let him know ‘’Good stroke’’ - and possibly smile. Then get ready for the next point!
Remember that nervousness can be dealt with! Before, under and after the event. Stay in the process!! Just remember to play as you are enjoying the game.
A special thanks to Morten Thomsen in the video.

Wow! Another great video :)
Something that helps me if I become nervous during a game is bringing my attention to my breathing. Breathing Consciously. I become more relaxed and aware.
That's great to hear!
I smile in badminton. Now im too addicted smiling in anywhere. Now people think im crazy 👌👌 ty for your tips 😂😂😂😂
It’s quite funny approach to a game :-) |
@@ShuttleLife hahahha true true true
@@ShuttleLife badminton is to enjoy not to rage so i just enjoy the game. Lose then lose for me just do better next time hahaha
Yea! You can win each match if winning depends on your attitude. 😉👌
@@ShuttleLife hahaha true true true
Before you play picture yourself executing every shot perfectly. This physiologically removes nervousness and helps you play at your peak.
Exactly!
Did you see our last video?
I wish I had these tips when I started my first competitions! I've found that over time I've gotten less nervous as competitions become "more routine." Although I'm still always a little nervous and just need to work with the feeling instead of fighting it.
Great video and tips, my son take a deep breath before each serve. Also I saw a Japanese player who closes his eyes for a while before serving or receiving. Good idea for mini badminton tips
Thanks ashraf, a very important tip there!
Yeah, I feel like one of my biggest downfalls is feeling self conscious playing at my club and being worried about potentially screwing up whilst people are watching me, even though i know that the best people there are prone to make mistakes as well. No one is perfect. Because of this I'm generally tense with my shots which in turn makes my smashes and strokes weaker as I'm not relaxed enough just until I hit the shuttle. It's funny (albeit annoying) that I intellectually know if I'm more relaxed and don't care about what others think I'd literally play much better, but sometimes my body and subconscious thoughts prevent me from performing at my peak. I'm much better with it these days now though and care less of other people watching. I've learned to just not think about it as much and take deep relaxing breaths when I can :)
Probably one of the most important video you ever made ! Thanks again for your work ! Sofie's dance and smile made me laugh so much 😆
So glad to hear that 😂
Sofie got the most beautiful smile 😅👌

These videos about nervousness will certainly help me loads. Lots of things I can put into practice for when my next match comes around.👍 Thank you.☺
Great to hear. It is a long process - if you are aware of this for a long time, you will improve significantly regarding nervousness and anxiety
I plan to watch these videos a lot before practice and on the day of my matches. The things you say are so true, you could actually be talking about me on this video!
Haha that is great to hear!

Good video, also a difficult part of the game to coach someone. I think I will try next time to coach on a few of these tips instead of game tactic when they are behind because of frustration.

@@ShuttleLife Did you see my other reaction?
I have a suggestion for a next video: my technique is good, but I lose most of my matches because I am out of breath, can you please make a video how to breath in badminton. My condition is not bad, I run 3 times a week, I play badminton and tennis,... that can't be the problem.☺

I lost really badly today. And I also know I wasn’t at my best because of the constant pressure I was putting on the result. And I lost 😃
God video Mads, og ikke mindst godt arbejde
Tak for det Nickolaj, hilsen Sofie og Mads
Sir I am very mentally weak how to deal with it I get scared when playing with a good opponent and not able to perform please make a video on it
Thank u for this vedio..
I've never had as much success on court as I did last night! I simply following the mantra 'focus on the point, forget about the game'. I also remembered to take a deep breath before I served which helped, must remember to do on all points! This video has unlocked something in my playing Mads, so tusind tak!🏸
You are very welcome mobime 👍😊
So glad I could help!
I can play singles pretty well!!
But when it comes to doubles i get nervous as hell!
And play super bad!!!!! And then get targeted alot
.
.
My nervous is more about my OWN teammate then anything else !
They yell at me or tell me in a rude matter it was a wrong shot , gets very angry! Which gets me down and nervous!!
That "premiere" function is so annoying, I thought it is actual video I can watch right now, then realized it is not..It is just waste of space in my (mobile) youtube feed. I think Badminton Famly stopped using it already..
First of all. Why is this annoying? 2 - we are not badminton famly.
We try to create content for you guys for free, remember that! We would love to find a way so all people know when a new video is coming. We are so sorry this feature doesn't suit you - we might do some changes. We only do this for you guys - we don't want to be annoying 😢✌️
Yes ❤️
Tq bro tq for osm sgsn..
Ti really healps
very nice video 🙋🙋
Thanks man!
@@ShuttleLife Yes all your videos are awesome
Thanks again 😉💪
You could be a bit louder and more confident still :)
Yea.. But it's a slightly improvement from the last video
@@ShuttleLife the video has lot of improvement 😀💪👍
Glad to hear
Badminton Exercises Yes but you create great content, so be confident and loud about delivering it! :)
nervousness =/= anger problems!
Gud bro
Superrrr video..😆
I am going to tournement at 19/12/2020
Poor racquet xD

Great mate :-)
Power Max racket
Please please please stop this premiere crap - it is an unsub reason if you continue.
Follow the lead from the big guys - they figured it out already. It doesn't work and makes people angry.
Hi Lars,
We are sorry that this feature don't suit you. We will of course try and re think our strategy. We just want to give you guys some inspiration for free for your daily trainings. We did an investigation on UA-cam and 93% liked the premiere feature. We might do some changes anyway.. ✌️✌️
Very very nice
