My birthday is next month and I’m definitely getting this pc
I upgraded from a third gen celeron to an 11400F and 6500 XT. I went for the 6500 xt because it had better gaming performance and it is a radeon card, just like how my first and veeery high end gaming pc had one. I went for the i5 because i wanted the better multicore scores than the 12100F plus it has pcie4.0 support which the gpu is running on rn (its better than an rx 580)

Hey long time no see man!
i like every part except for the motherboard. I would opt for the cheaper, and m.2 supporting asrock A520M-HDV, but since its an amd board you would go for a ryzen 5500 with the extra 10$, or the 4500 if you are on a very tight budget. and while yes sata drives are cheaper, you can still use one and buy a nvme drive later. very similar price, better performace and a m.2 slot.
Does this board have wifi? Can i add a 2 TB SSD later if I need more storage?

nice build, I love this channel, its what got me into pc building back from his 500 dollar budget pc in august 2020 with a Ryzen 3 3100 and 1650 super build. It still works and I gave it to my niece for when she plays Minecraft. however just looking at how demanding games are getting now, I would rather get a used 1660 super/ ti that is going for the same price as the 6500xt.(currently around 150 USD) I just don't think 4gb is enough vram for modern gaming, 6gb isn't crazy either but in my opinion I wouldn't go under 6gb. plus I don't think 480gb is enough storage, considering you can get 1tb SSDs for like 40 to 45 bucks. Despite my opinions on what I would spend my money on, I still think this channel has the best intentions for great pc parts for the price if you have to have new parts. Continue the great videos man.
I’m so happy to hear that! Yeah, you’ll usually get better price to performance with used parts. I typically focus on all new parts exclusively as it’s easier for new builders :)

Im trying to build my first pc and have no clue what I’m doing. I’m trying to build it to go with my oculus quest 2, but the cpu used in the video is not compatible with it. Are you able to use whatever cpu you would want to?
It should be compatible. But if the 12100 doesn’t work for you, any 12th gen Intel CPU will work.

@zinxzilla8205 if you could get a used 6600 for $140-160, get that or the RX 580 for $100, you could also get the rx6600 new if the price is under 220

@zinxzilla8205 if you're playing vram intense games it's better to get th 8gb but if you need a place holder the 4gb is fine but both are fine

Motherboard doesn’t have an M2 slot, had to be able to fit this PC under a $500 budget so cuts were necessary

Any 1440p 144+hz monitor from Asus, Viotek, Gigabyte, or BenQ. Great brands!

But its for beginners who dont want to use used parts. obviously you can upgrade many things if they were used for the same price. Personally I got GTX 1660 ti ventus for $130. There is alot of potentional upgrades with this.
