Nice. Would like to see a review on the Avitus winter MTB shows. How have your Avitus shoes held up over time? I find cheaper shoes tend to come apart at the sole, maybe they do not use as strong a glue?
I also bought pair of MTB shoes on ali as ‘experiment’ with boa like closing system and start to wear/like them a lot. Finding the right size does remain a lottery.
I got lucky with these. I wear an 11.5 in regular shoes but that was not available so I ordered the 11 and they fit perfect. I was a little worried but sometimes you get lucky I guess. The Crankbrothers were also size 11 and that wasn't an issue, they were just so uncomfortable. They pressed on the arch and on the side of my foot.
It may not be the shoes. First check your pedals and see if there is an adjustment screw for the spring tension. One of the issue I had was the tension being to much. It was impossible to get the shoes to clip in. After backing out the screw some it now clips and unclips easier.
If you use a large flat possibly. I wondered the same thing and will test. My concern is the lack of contact area with the cut out. They offer these for flats as well, but it would be nice to use both.
Do you think the actual pedal was the issue with the clearance problem? Because other SPD shimano pedals like the XT have the actual clip a little more exposed which might work better with how recessed the cleat sits.
Well when I told the guy at pro bikes about the issue he said it was common for crankbrothers. He said he actually has his shimmed as well. (Same brand but not same exact shoes) seems to be a common issue. But I am a sure the pedal matters as well.
Shoes are definitely not the place to save money. I have the mallets and can definitely notice they took 4 years to design with top tier mtb pro input. Something like cheapest tshirt, sure, it won't make a big difference, but I've learned many times that everything that touches the ground is important - shoes, tires. Also the mallets come witch shims and many optional adapters for fit. For comfort once I found the right size it was perfect, these are enduro shoes to protect from rocks - not for strolling around the town.
I’m with you don’t I won’t skimp on shoes or tires hell I’m not gonna skimp on anything when it comes to MTB. The dude in video makes some of the most ridiculous arguments against the crank brothers shoes. Video was good for a down vote. I must admit it was an above average Ali express commercial though. 😂

@@gravitycheckmtb ok let me rephrase. I can clip in but its hard to get it in. But once it is clipped, it's so easy to unclip but hard to get it in.

I think Avitus is a copy of our Sandugo mountain bike enduro shoes here in the philippines
