Yes, it's just a new gen AMD refresh, but it performs A LOT better (especially better than the Intel G16 models), because it produces a lot less heat (and is also just faster).

The performance per watt on the Intel CPU isnt as good as AMDs also I tend to get better battery from AMD processors rather than Intels. I think Intels CPU is better for editing video due to more instruction sets it can use but Im not sure
@@mobeen369 Yes, especially in games where you need to look far (like big maps in Battlefield or long corners in CS). But i prefer the portability of the G14 over having those things because i move around a lot :) If you're going to be sitting on a table while gaming, I'd get the G16.
Oh right, I would be at a desk mainly, but I have external monitors, 2 nice ones. It’s just when I am out, I wouldn’t want the screen to be too small, only thing I am scared of.
Sucks the g14 is oled. Wished it was ips/mini led. The burn in is inevitable, and you have to baby the display the entire time of use. Im not the kind of person to be wanting to think about protecting my display from itself when i have college as a higher priority. Ips/mini led is just risk-free. Plus, warranty through the reputable Asus would be a joy to experience when the oled gives in.
OLED burn-in is pretty much a non-issue in 2024. There's so many anti burn-in techniques in modern displays that even after leaving it on at full brightness for 2 years, it still won't have visible effects.
@crimsontechyt so burn in will never happen? I'll be able to treat the oled screen the exact same way I do with my ips, g14 2023? I don't believe compromises can be afforded for me as my workflow has moments of constant still images at high brightness. I can't hide the task bar because I lose track of time, and my flow is broken if I have to check anything else. Having adhd, I leave my laptop on the same screen for a good amount of time. If the screen goes into the save screen, it bothers me, and it's hard to refocus. I don't like black screen savers, but I'll take mellow ones. Besides that, I fully expect no extra needed care from me in order to preserve the screen.
It WILL still occur, but in such a long time under regular use, that other parts will fail before it even comes close to burning in (i.e. the battery or a fan)
I wouldnt replace the liquid metal with regular thermal paste. The laptops entire cooling system is designed around it, and having a worse cooling solution wouldnt go well i think. Liquid metal goes wrong maybe 0.5% of the time, and thats only when there's a defect, or when it hasnt been applied correctly (which is VERY rare). I wouldnt worry too much about it :)
No you don't, that thing sound like a jet engine ready to take off while gaming, no VRR, and no glossy anti glare coating, I had it and returned it immediately.
I can’t mentally handle the oled. I play games with static interface. Might get the IPS but not too happy about it. I wish it had miniled. Probably won’t have it next year either. As they already jumped to the „top tier” display. They wouldn’t downgrade. I can’t have burn in. Just no. 😂 also the backlight bleed of IPs won’t make me happy

I really want to, but its a bit too expensive im afraid 🙃
the g16 im looking at has ultra 9 and oled screen so wonder which do you think is nicer? they both virtually same price for me
I would absolutely get the AMD OLED version. It has less heating issues, and obv a better screen xd
alrighty thanks
how is gaming comparison on screen size, is it way more comfortable to game on the 16 compared to 14 or is it minor difference?
@@mobeen369 Yes, especially in games where you need to look far (like big maps in Battlefield or long corners in CS).
But i prefer the portability of the G14 over having those things because i move around a lot :)
If you're going to be sitting on a table while gaming, I'd get the G16.
Oh right, I would be at a desk mainly, but I have external monitors, 2 nice ones. It’s just when I am out, I wouldn’t want the screen to be too small, only thing I am scared of.
Webcam testing is my favorite part :D
My ass is gonna be broke when I buy the g16
great video which sum up most of my question
Any tips to repaste
Because really hate liquid metal
Which have potential to ruin this laptop
After the seal broken in future
I wouldnt replace the liquid metal with regular thermal paste. The laptops entire cooling system is designed around it, and having a worse cooling solution wouldnt go well i think.
Liquid metal goes wrong maybe 0.5% of the time, and thats only when there's a defect, or when it hasnt been applied correctly (which is VERY rare).
I wouldnt worry too much about it :)
@@crimsontechyt but one day you need to repaste
And you sure is it safe?
Or will the liquid metal can last forever even if it dried out?
Liquid metal doesnt dry out, as it just stays liquid above a certain temperature :)
This laptop is way more expensive in the UK. Why? lol
The g16 isn’t 1800 its 1600p while the g14 is 1800p
Yeah, I think I showed the wrong res in some parts of the video.
In the display / screen section it's showed correctly
Do you notice grains in the screen when it’s in low brightness?
Review the rtx 4080 vapour chambour model
Thanks you very much
Never seen such a good comparison. Well done.
Thank you :D
you should get your hands on the lenovo legion slim 5 gen 8 14 inches
No you don't, that thing sound like a jet engine ready to take off while gaming, no VRR, and no glossy anti glare coating, I had it and returned it immediately.
Je ne recommande pas asus car j’ai eu un problème avec les mises à niveau renvoyé 2 fois et après enquêtes est revenu obsolète
G16 for bigger display and future proof
Ooo the video I waiting for!!
I think the 4070 on the g16 is 105W max with boost.
+ it can hit 115W on manual mode.
Damm big comparison
here it is
Best review
Thank you :D
do da legion pro 7i gen 9
4:33 LIE!! all models have an OLED display
No they dont, check the other comments please
@@crimsontechyt Sorry, in my region is all models available with OLED display, I based my comment on this. That was my fault...
@@kGábor-q6f no worries :)
Lovely :p
Big dan and its son

thank you
I can’t mentally handle the oled.
Hell yea (:
