- I'm going all in on Milwaukee REDLITHIUM USB 3.0 batteries to bring light to the darkness at work.
Update: The Milwaukee 800L flashlight randomly stopped working after 5 months. Can't recommend this flashlight based on my personal experience.

My work gave me a Milwaukee head lamp for work, thing is amazing.. I’m a head lamp enthusiast from my time in the army.
I'm all into covering gadgets. I think that is an excellent side gig for this channel (yep I know you've been doing this already) . I know many popular gadget reviewer channels already, but I've seen your channel blow up and I think adding your personal favorite gadgets would be a great add. Just keep it with your personal favorite gadgets and have it just be like a little mini-series unless of course you want it to be a full gadget gauntlet type deal then do that too. Thereyago👍
He's almost as good as ave and project farm.
95% of gadgets are junk and not worth reviewing. Just like this flashlight. Low end, but not priced low end and you get stuck using their overpriced medium quality batteries. Frankly, this is probably among the best in gadgets.
In my experience, most gadgets are solutions in search of a problem at too high a price and always at low quality.
My thing is I like to check out tools I’m going to use. The problem is I only need so many power tools 😜
@@FunkFPVjust buy um all and write it off as a business expense for UA-cam bam free tools then get um all 😂
@@matthewwimpey7220 "Writing it off" doesn't mean you get it for free, that's not how that works.
Funk with a new video makes any day allot better
I appreciate it 😎👍🏻
Funk, I understand the HR thing, for sure. After my 5th trip I made the switch to a strap-on👀 Headlamp that is😬🤣
My addiction got really bad too, the wife had to put her foot down, on my neck!!!😂
I may hafta check out the Milwaukee lights, that can't be all that expensive...🤓 😂
Buy yourself a Christmas present 😜
When i did HVAC i had a 300 lumen Milwaukee flashlight that had a decently strong magnet on the battery cover, i got it in home depot for $40 and its one of my favorite tools, i used it to stick to ducts or to find studs, it was great
Finding studs? I just got mine and that never occurred to me!
@SpearFisher85 well now you know, I don't do it too often, as I usually have my stud finder, but when I'm on a ladder and my stud finder is on the ground, I'll be lazy and look for sheetrock screws to find the studs, lol
@l2mloyalty929 yes the screws are a life saver sometimes! 😄
So many people need a Rovyvon A8 in their life... Easy to carry and very versatile.
@@CristiNeagu checking them out now
Nutty pricing on that 2114. A Nitecore NWL20 COB mechanics Work Light. Uses standard 21700 removeable battery, and usb-c for $35.
You should try streamlight. They're a little pricey by solid I use mine as a hammer a door knocker a baton still works like new and it's bright as hell
I have that redlithium small one, it is way brighter and smoother light than a maglight. I stuck a powerful glow in the dark dot to the back with good velcro, i can peel it off charge it with the light and it becomes unloseable. I've probably run through 150 charges, it's still great 👍
ever since they started making near indestructable flashlights that took 18650s i've been hooked, my current edc is a coast px19r that comes with a 21700 WITH A BUILT IN USBC PORT IN THE BATTERY!! it can also take a regular 18650 or 21700 in a pinch while the fancy usb rechargable cell it came with is plugged in, 4 brightnesses, the $10 version i bought on the shelf next to it came with a quad aaa holder but also works with a 21700 after popping out the plastic spacer ring but has the advantage of the disco flasher mode that the coast doesnt, both are over 2k lumens, the coast claims 2600 but it'll only get that right after a full charge
Yeah, companies like Keeppower make most common lithium ion batteries with usb-c port on them. Just got to make sure the device want to use them in can take the extra length.
I have the Milwaukee m12 rover light. Its amazing how strong it is, its hit the ground about 6 times at different heights and still works
M12 Rover fan here. The best work light known to man hands down.
Tell you what I really like, is those little torches that are about the size of a permanent/vivid/magic marker.
They fit nicely into the pen holder in your top pocket and also fit nicely into tight engine bays
I love your videos especially because you don't swear in them your personality is what brings me back I absolutely love your short videos I wish I would get notifications of them but they show up in my recommended So that's how I watch them I am subscribed to your channel
The recommendation thing works weird. I sometimes get notifications for videos I’ve watched days ago 🤷🏻♂️
My brother got me an Olight baton 3 for my birthday, which is now an EDC for me, and I love it. That said, I use Coast headlamps for any work that I have to do.
i've gotten so many rookies with the ole "shake the spray paint until the rattle goes away" its an old one but a fun one
I use a flashlight similar to yours I use the belt clip to hook on my epalits of my shirt/body armor to search bags and what not for some hands free use. Thanks for all the great content.
I’m sure you’re trying to spell epaulets.
Quality content as always. 👍🏼👍🏼
😎👍🏻
Ive had that milwaukee light for about 3 years now, best flashlight ive ever had
I loved my minimag. Never had a problem with the twisting mechanism. Not too bright, not too dim for close up work. Ultra practical size to carry and use for up close work.
Get the panthat beanie hat from costco with built in led lights, ideal when working outside
Wandering the aisles of Home Depot, as you do, a Husky brand flashlight caught my eye. 750 lumen with 4 different levels and strobe. The head swivels 90 degrees and has a magnet on the base, which is great for when I'm working in gas dispenser sumps. It does have a rubber flappy cover for the charge port which is eh but it is USB-C so I can just plug it into my truck on the drive home. I wear those Duluth firehose cargo pants and it fits perfectly in one of the smaller outer pockets. It's survived a few drops and so far the rubber power button has held up to gas and diesel. Also survived a drop into a sump with fuel and stayed lit and still works. So far really like it and way better than the small AA battery one I used to have.
I really like your channel. I enjoy seeing what you do and the tools you use. You seem like a down to earth guy that you can just shoot the shit with.
Thanks bud 👍🏻
That energizer aluminum model they sell or sold is the best flashlight I've ever owned. I bought like 5 just in case they stop making them.
Maybe 3 times bigger than a pen, can light up an entire field as if it were day.
I've had good luck with a Streamlight Wedge. I'm a construction surveyor and it's great for looking into catch basins, drop inlets, and sewer manholes when doing as builts. Only issue with it is the type c charging port doesn't have a cover so it gets filled with junk. Still charges though.
I too have a flashlight problem. I’ve been using streamlight for a while now and they have done me well. I had my eye on these Milwaukee lights for a while though! Great videos, subbed
I prefer the ones that use AAA batteries and roughly size of a sharpy. Clips into my shirt pocket beside pen, NCV tester, marker and multibit micro screwdriver.
I've actually switch to headband lights and keep the flash light in tool bag for occasional use.
LOL, Magnetical, I'm so going to use that the next time I'm at work! 🤣🤣
It's seems all pretty nice. But the proprietary batteries are a big NO for me. I have replaced all my flashlights with 18650 powered options for obvious reasons and advantages like price factor, greater capacity, more power, easier replacement and greater compatibility.
18650 batteries are proprietary. This is just a different proprietary system.
@andyhenderson441
What are you talking about? I think you need to look up the meaning of the word "proprietary".
I was thinking it was a 2170
@mikebalentine
There might be a 21700 on the inside. I doubt it though. 18650s are much cheaper.
@@alphadawg81 that makes sense
As a transmission mechanic, I switched to rechargeable headlamps years ago. Never looked back
I'll stick with my O-Lights. The Prerun 2 and prerun mini have been amazing EDC lights. Their magnetic bases and 90 degree heads make them so useful for hanging or mounting as work lights. I don't think I've ever ran the Prerun 2 out of battery. I just charge it whenever. My only complaint is that the prerun mini has a pocket clip not designed to be replaced and these back and forth clips need to be adjusted from getting caught on stuff.
Olight… tell me you’re poor without telling me you’re poor.
@@CasperInkyMagoo If it works, it works. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg on a flash light to do a job. You goobers thinking you have to spend a lot of money on cheap chinese shit thinking it will be better just to raise your imaginary dick meter a bit higher then the person beside you.
@@CasperInkyMagoo Yep. I'm poor. What's your HK comparable flashlight you'd recommend?
@@CasperInkyMagoo Must be busy making all that moneys. Guess I'll order some Olight knockoffs from Amazon.
Streamlight has been my go to for several years. I am also a forklift technician. But I am always looking for a newer better light.
As a service plumber, I have a long list of what I want from a flashlight. Might actually be a slight mental deficiency. But regardless, I've been using a Wuben L50 for a while and so far it's acceptable.
I've been using a COAST XPH30R headlamp for a while now, way better than the Milwaukee stuff in my opinion because it uses standard 18650 batteries, they're cheaper, more common and work in a larger variety of applications
yeah the coast stuff is pretty good. I like that their stuff is built well and being able to swap batteries to easily to common ones is great. I got the px19r as well the xph30r. They both come in handy. And I love that Coast doesn't force it's customers to use their own batteries.
TorqueTestChannel just dropped a video with the new Coast flashlight in it. It did great and by far the best durability, the Milwaukee broke from about a 10FT drop where as he had to Gronk Spike the Coast into the asphalt multiple times to get it to break.
i once lost a coast flashlight - polysteel 600, FANTASTIC little torch - during pizza delivery. I left it on the roof of my car and drove off without realizing. a little over six months later, having long since forgotten about that flashlight, i took a delivery to the same house, where the homeowner asked me “hey, did any of your drivers lose a flashlight out this way?”
he presented to me my polysteel 600, with a healthy helping of new scrapes and scratches and a generous amount of dirt. i thanked him generously, he tells me he only found it because he drove over it, and i’m only sad for about .5 seconds before i click the button and realize it still works perfectly. threads for the battery compartment and lens were perfectly clean, too.
coast lights are DAMN good.
THANK YOU MY MAN you made my new flashlight decision sooo easy lol. I have the exact same coast flashlight and had the same issue.
Im an hvac guy ive had all the milwaukee lights. Even that 1100 lumen one you have. Theyre ok....i use Olight now....they are on a whole new level. No mini usb shit. Magnetic charger. Get within 6inches of the charger and WHAM! Slaps itself into place and charges. 10x brighter and last 10x longer. Half as big. Amazing. Perun 2 is all around amazing light. Headlamp or everyday carry. Will out any milwaukee to shame....and im a milwaukee fanboy.
Stream lights are my go to. Slim with 2 magnets, & another for my hard hat. Rechargeable & lasts a long time
Olights are handy with magnetic charge connector. Some have clips for baseball cap.
I actually just picked up the oClip light. Video coming soon 😎👍🏻
@@FunkFPV Awesome 🙂
Streamlight Stinger, and the Switchblade for a work light are where it’s at for me.
My "Yard, house, and garage" light is still my old school Maglight they issued me when I worked for State Prison system. If you can't see it with Maglight then it's too far to worry about yet.
I had a second hand Maglite Mini for years but did get a Hoover flashlight a good bit ago and it's really a great light. Hoover is owned by TTi which is the same company that owns Milwaukee. Being a tool and vacuum manufacturer, the light uses the same battery as full size cordless vacuum cleaners and lasts about 16 hours on a charge. Other than the rubber overmolding on the handle that has degraded on mine due to chemical damage, it's my favorite flashlight by far.
Ryobi offers the same light for their battery too, being they are also owned by TTi.
Love the content. Thought I'd weigh in on the flashlight review and comments. Been in the construction industry for 30+ years and used all kinds of lighting devices and recently ran in to this harbor freight little rechargeable flashlight (i know, i know, harbor freight, but hear me out). It's a Braun 250 lumen penlight, LED, rechargeable, adjustable flashlight, adjustable side LED light, and (if anyone really cares), a UV light as well. Smaller than a nickel in diameter, about 8" long, light weight but tough shell. For the price, I've been really impressed, tough little bastard, will light up half a block, and that little magnetic end is way more useful than one would think.
Years ago, I had a coast led lenser(?), nice light, until it broke and their customer service was non existent.
Been spending money with olight for a long time and love their products.
Recently got into Milwaukee battery tools, one thing is, their batteries are $$!
They are expensive. I guess we’ll see if it’s a “buy once, cry once” type thing.
Pretty cool 😁👍 i got a Sofirn IF22A for EDC. I 110% agree a flashlight is a must have for EDC day or night. I never leave the house without my Leatherman and flashlight always comes in handy too. I really like the Sofirn because its dimmable goes from fire flie to 2100LM smoothly and its rechargeable and has a fantastic battery life. I also have that very same holster you have in the video holds many flashlights super secure will also hold a police boton pretty good too.
Thanks for sharing Wes 😁👍
They make a pocket flood light that is a dream come true for HVAC service work.
Great stuff
I have the milwaukee head lamp and several m12 lights, but my favorite small flashlight is the Nebo slim, it's rechargeable, has a clip and two magnets so you don't have to put it in your mouth 😂
I'm never going back to a cigar style. I edc a unilite for just normal stuff. I just clip it to my shirt collar and swivel the head to face whichever bulb I want to whichever direction I'm looking.
My choice is the il-175 because it's the most compact. I'd recommend you'd go with the larger model.
I love these. Yes i know they are 18650s, but the engineering with their lights and the true view Kelvins are excellent.
If you are interested in lanterns, flahlights and headlamps then Fenix is a great brand to check out. Never had a problem with them and they have no useless or wierd UI or modes on 95% of their lights
Pshh, I'll grab some when it's USB-C!
Fenix have many USB-C chargable flashlights and they are very durable and reliable
I love the coast g20. I'm a locksmith so i need a smaller form factor. Been using it for ages. The problem is now they're designed to last about 3 months. I may try these but they're a little big to put inside a door
Ahhh!!! Thanks!!! I almost thought you were getting eat to serious!! Nothing like a good H.R. joke in the AM
The new fenix ld is great, i recommend.
The olight perun 2 is also a good one.
Give the Rovyvon A8 a try. It's tiny, you can hold it easily in your jeans pocket, but it's pretty powerful, has magnetic mounting options so you can stick it onto things, and it also has white LEDs for a more wider light area.
I got mine the other day and it's great!
Personally I’m a Fenix guy but I also have a couple olights. Magnetic bases are great and some of them have the pocket clip designed in a way that you can clip it to the brim of your hat for hands free use. I use a Fenix pd36r for typical flashlight usage and I like the olight baton 3 for edc coin pocket carry or the arkfeld for pocket clip carry.
Wuben have leapfrogged Fenix, better features and great price point
You're a spitting image of the actor John Ashton from Beverly Hills Cop! p.s. Milwaukee makes good stuff. Streamlight also makes very good flashlights.
Great Job on the review. Thanks.
…I’m also trying to deal with my flashlight addiction…
If you need something smaller I'd highly recommend the surefire USB microstream, it's about the diameter of a AA battery but about 1.5 times the length. It's very bright for it's size and the battery life is good too. My only complaint is it's a micro USB to charge and not a C. They make a longer pen light version that's probably better for mechanics or people who use it often. Torque Test channel tested them and they were pretty accurate on their claims too which is refreshing.
I have the 18v pack out 3000lumens light the 18 v 4000 lumens flood the 18v flashlight and the 2 other rover lights in your video and that 550 one is my fav has a strong magnet aswell. Thanks for the great review
Picked up the automotive paint/detailer light. Best one on the market
Last month I broke my cheap Chinazon Prime flashlight and decided to buy an Olight Baton 3 and absolutely love it. I did consider the Milwaukee rechargeable lights first because I have mostly Milwaukee power tools but what sold me on Olight is the magnetic charging, magnetic back and double sided clip. It’s super lightweight and works great on the bill of my hat. My wife loves it so I had to buy another so mine wouldn’t disappear and actually bought myself a second one for a total of 3. I then bought the Arkfeld Pro and the 4 charger mag base. I would absolutely recommend to a friend
You said magnetic charging. Does it come with a charge base? It looks like a usb port.
@@MaxEntropy1 each light does come with a single magnetic charge base that plugs in power via USB-A and connects to the flashlight via the magnetic back. I also bought a 4-port dock that can charge 4 at a time.
Thank you for bringing back memories how I am an incompetent idiot because I can't hold the flashlight straight
i have a milwaukee rechargeable 250 lumens with a laser pointer and have beat the crap out of it and put it through the washing machine twice and it still works great
The neighbor calls my flashlight a “cop light” because the only guy who would carry anything that big also has qualified immunity. It has a rechargeable battery, but also works on 3 C cells. The wife got it for me so that the space aliens can find me. It’s bright enough that they’ll see it.
Love your stuff man! You’ve got a great voice, you’d benefit a lot from a high quality mic!
When I’ve dropped my flashlight like the Mag, I found it would be the bulb needed replacing and it would work again.
And instead of putting your flashlight in your mouth, have you tried a headlamp? I go through a lot. I just bought the flat one with the spotlight on the side and motion sensor to turn it off and on. They are pretty nice so far. Rechargeable is the only way to go.
Highligh is a 1200 lumen foldable rechargeable worklight that has a extremely strong magnet . Three modes of light and aluminum cased ! Amazon $40.00 12/4/23 Best light I have had working on trucks in a long time . Not sure how durable the folding lamp will last .
Forklift mechanic here. On the RedLithium Milwaukee flashlight, have one for work. The battery lasted maybe 8 months and then degraded fast on 5-6 hours a week of runtime. Pretty disappointing. The proprietary nature of the battery is disappointing and while it is a bright light, it burned a hole in the lens within the first 10 hours of use since the lens is much thinner than it would appear. I’m just going to buy a stream light or perhaps find something from a company like Fenix or Olight.
Good advice 👍 😄😄
I used carry a little milwaukee flashlight in my pocket but it kept accidently clicking on and draining the battery. So i switched over to a aaa battery led mini magnite. And those are twist on/off and i never have had an issue since.
I have had that holster. After some time the elastic will give out and you loose the flashlight
You guys looking for a wicked flashlight? Either nightstick or pelican make an intrinsically safe pen light that is the best I’ve ever used. Takes 2 AAA and lasts a couple months when being used daily. Bright and durable, and well made
Lost my black mag lite my Grandpa used to carry as a Policeman in queens. Still kicking myself to this day
HEADLAMP GUY HERE, ive just used lux pro $10 version because there not blinding bright and can use rechargable thriple AAAs
kobalts run hot
and temus $3 one with 5 lights seems comical for work but will break easy
hands free ive began to look at only
dog bone flashlight isnt my forte
Streamlight protac that takes 18650s for me. I do have a Milwaukee hardhat light.
Try the headlight. I keep one on my hardhat, and it's very handy for me personally
Fun fact nobody thinks about. My e.d.c (incandescent) lights during the late 90’s early 2000’s were from Surefire, military and police grade lights, so 90lms and 300lms for the two lights I carried. At that time most people had not seen flashlights that bright. The human eye, for most people, had not seen 1000+ lumens come out of a light the size of a mini mag. Fast forward to 2010 and my buddy comes home from the gas station with 1000 lm flashlight, I call b.s., sure enough it made my surefire look like a birthday candle. The point I’m trying to put a cross is the jump from high lumen incandescent lights to high lumen l.e.d’s, we don’t realize how much brighter the newer quality LEDs are. If I flick on one of my old sure fires, it doesn’t hold a candle to a reputable newer light.
I carry a smaller coast light with the same tail switch had it mess up contacted coast they sent me a new i had it with in 7 days. Still have the orginal 1 also
Klein makes 100% objectively superior rechargeable headlamps. All day long. And at half the price.
Milwaukee still out here selling usb-micro, while klein has had usb-c for years. I own both, and my only regret is not buying 3 times as many kleins.
Yes, my flashlight addiction also started with a mini mag at the age of 10
flashlight addiction....lol, it's only an addiction if it's illegal, otherwise it's a passion. personally i have a passion for cheap flashlights, while most of them are junk and end up being given away or lost, every once in a while i find a flashlight that for me is a holy grail best bang for the buck like the 3-aaa metal led flashlights walmart used to sell for $1.88, i bought 3 of them more than 7 years ago and they all still work and are the ones that i end up using the most. i used to buy more expensive flashlights, have even bought some defiant and coast lights from home dumpo, everyone of them has malfunctioned or outright died sometime around the one year mark, i will say the home dumpo flashlights are really bright, right up until they stop working........
I really like having a flashlight in My side pocket. I am a bigger fan of rechargable Headlamps.
I'm an olight guy. Always had Great luck with those. Affordable. Good designs, I like the charger. And they hold up well on my guns too. Even have one that's been through several hundred rounds of buckshot on a pump action and it's still kicking
Heh, I got a COAST ... uhh, lemme look... PX15R one that's almost the same as your Milwaukee one, with rechargeable battery that a usb-c plugs into, and holy hell is that thing bright. I have to carry a 2nd flashlight for small spaces because it's so bright. It only has two brightness settings. Blinding and off.
you need to look at the range of WUBEN torches, the X2, C3, X0 are all fantastic lights and shit all over the generic hardware store lights. I have a few of them and are all awesome, amazon has deal on them often. The X0 specifically would be my choice for your style of use
its 2023, everything should be USB-C..
That’s too big for my mouth. You’re far more man than myself. I like the Micro Streamlights. Got a pile of em, just swap em out at night when I’ve used it a lot. Always have one on the charger. Cheap too. Beat the hell outa mine and can’t remember one failing yet.
Do you have a preference for “ jump start “ chargers ? I don’t like the ones with air compressors and lights.
Stream light protac 90 is my favorite edc light the 90x though kinda blows don’t know why their basically the same light.
The Milwaukee usb stick light is a solid light and it's usb-c.
I might pick that one up for a look 👍🏻
You know I think you would like the icon 800 lumens slim work light I have four of them and have had 3 of them for well over a year
I was looking at that one this past weekend. I might need one 😜
Came here for the Debby Boone reaction.
The battrey looks like the 18650 ppl use in a vape
3:43 lol yes, let’s.
SILENCE BRAND!🦀🦀🦀🦀
Love Milwaukee tools but I prefer Nebo lights
LOL, the mouth to flashlight training part just earned you a subscription, looking for your only fans page now. 🤣🤪
I have my olight perun headlamp on me at all times, and at work I have a rechargeable led lenser headlight. I would say that headlight is the way to go.
The olight is detachable and has a strong magnet if you want to use it as a torch.
🤔 rechargeable battery with a spare battery or two. A fella could keep some light on the work area.
... on a first name basis with his HR manager ! ?
They know better than to talk to me. I make the company more money than they do 😁
