And that's with these new "made in China" ones. My grand daddy took an original made in USA one to the steel mill in 1972. He died that day in an accident, and his coffee is still hot to this day.

I'll give you a hint about using these fridges. Line the inside with reflectix or something like that and cover it with a blanket keeping the vents clear. If you insulate it well, the battery will last much, much longer. By default, these 12v compressor fridges are very poorly insulated and will run near constantly except in very cold weather when you really don't need the refrigerator. You can also get some of that material they make yard signs from (Corrugated polypropylene) and glue to the CP one of the reflective emergency blankets that kind of look like tin foil, silver side facing the inside.
The "van life" people talk about this all the time.
Years ago I had one of the peltier device coolers. Totally worthless.

Wrap in dyno Matt , I would just freeze a container of water , or couple ice packs take some load off the compressor, I had the ones back in the day that plugged into cig lighter same like you said poorly insulated light duty and they weren’t cheap back than but nothing was right , now we have internet and partnered with china instead of Japan 😂

I have the makita coffee maker and I run it on DeWalt 20V MAX and flexvolt battery . Just buy the battery adapter. I just wish my 8Ah and 10 AH would fit. I do have 15AH flexvolt. just way too big. does fit lawnmower .

I bought the cooler per your review. I put in a few 20 oz water bottles and it ran approximately 24 hours set at 35°F in a room set to 74° on two 6 ah batteries. One nice feature is that if the cooler is powered by AC or DC and there is a battery, it will switch over to the Dewalt battery. The external power supply takes priority over the Dewalt battery, it will switch back from battery to AC/DC power. Also, according to the display on the cooler, the batteries only get discharged down to 15 volts.

At first I thought the separate battery hookup on the coffee maker was silly. Then I thought about it. This thing should not be moved much, and should take up as little space as possible.
Then I noticed the screw holes in the battery connector so you could mount it to a wall or something.
Decent design, but for a revision I would suggest making the cord two to three times as long, with the option of coiling up underneath the makers base if you want it shorter. That way you have a lot more mounting options.
Also, maybe a stationary screw down base that the maker can be easily and repeatedly detached and attached to that holds it firmly during transport, but can be detached to get to the water tank.
Those 2 things so you can get to it even if it lives tightly packed on a shelf in a truck or trailer, and you could mount the battery part above or below it.

I just got the fridge myself because of your review and i can confirm that the biggest batteries that will fit is 1 10ah and 1 8ah which this combination will be the 1 that can give you the absolute most runtime. Will not not fit 2 10s. You could also do 1 12ah flexvolt and 1 5ah powerstack. Basically flexvolts fit as long as the other battery is slim. Or you can jus run it off any 1 battery aside from 15ah flexvolt (well you can use the 15ah flexvolt if you leave the battery lid open) hope this helps.

Your yeti remark was spot on. Some coolers last a week, others will keep soda cool for an afternoon. What will that do on a hot day? It’ll keep lunch cold. My parents had one for their car cig outlet on trips. My dad left it plugged in all night in hotels because it was useless otherwise. I guess they’re better than a tub of melted ice.

It’s getting cool around my way now but I’m curious what this will do on a hot day with 2 good 6Ah batteries. Maybe next summer I’ll sit this outside in the sun and see how it does.

The Makita coffee maker has the battery slot on the side of the coffee maker and it is compatible with the 12v and 18v batteries there is a sliding cover which is also a switch which switches from 12v to 18v whilst blocking the connector for the other battery type. This has a shoddy looking plastic connector dangling on a wire that looks like anything could crush the connector or at the very least damage the wire. I may be seeming biased because I own Makita tools and not DeWalt but I am not the type of guy who drinks hot drinks usually because I can't take the extreme temperature. When it comes to "hot drinks" I usually drink things that have been sitting for a bit and have lost like 30% of the heat
As for the "electric cooler" the Makita one is also a warmer and can keep foods hot/warm too AND they have 2 sizes they have the 18v 20L then there is the 40v 20L (which also accepts 18v batteries) and then there is a 50L bad boy which is both 40v and 18v ALSO they have a built in bottle opener in the front and as for the USB ports they are inside the battery compartment which I kind of prefer (having them on the outside and inside would be better) because with them being on the inside the battery compartment which is water and dust resistant you are not likely to damage your phone whilst it charges up ALSO all of these coolers run on a single battery but have 2 slots of each type so that when a battery dies the other will start powering up the cooler and then you can replace the one battery meaning that the cooling/warming never stops unlike this which I assume both batteries may work in parallel. Forget the last part because I think this DeWalt compatible also does that

Those look like the kind of gadgets that seem great at first but end up collecting dust because a good thermos and an ice chest full of ice work just as good with out spending so much cash.
They're only good if they were free. I'd never fork over the cash for any of them.
Why carry a coffee maker, two batteries, a charger, coffee, and water when you can just carry a Thermos full of coffee and be done with it?
(A thermos can also be used to keep cold things too).
I've got a dozen of those portable refrigerators that only sort of work, and those run off the car's battery, not batteries that need to be charged. A bag of ice or a couple of frozen jugs of water in an ice chest works far better.

Hey brother I love your rate hack videos, and the toes are funny as hell. I was wondering if you could possibly help me figure out what's wrong with an electric forklift we have at our plant. It's showing an error code that is not in the manual and I can't find any info online. Just thought you may be able to help.

Does it charge the batteries when it is plugged into 12v or 110? Any chance you would run it in the back of your truck for a few days and see if the batteries last all day at a reasonable temp 35~40°F. Just curious to know how well it works in the back of a service truck on a 100° day. Even leaving it plugged in to a switched 12v outlet would be fine, so when you are driving it is running from vehicle power.

This cooler uses an app that you can control it with. Which is cool. Except the instructions say absolutely nothing about what app to use. And no mellif branded apps exist.

Thanks for the review. The cooler/ refrigerator is definitely something im interested in and didnt know existed if not for your video. Got tons of batteries already and of all capacities. I know you said the biggest battery that will fit is 20v 6ah which is the same size as an 8ah. But i was wondering if you thought bout if the 20v 10ah tho that would possibly fit? Its only a tad bigger then the 6 and 8ah but still smaller then a 9 and 12ah flexvolt. Its still a 10 cell battery jus like the 6 and 8. If 10ah will fit i jus think that would be perfect.

The biggest I have is 6Ah and according to the product description that’s the biggest. From what I see with 2 6Ah there’s a little room but not much.

You lost me just a little bit. Do you get 5.5 cups, of what “you consider” a cup of coffee (12oz). Or 5.5 (6oz) cups, out of that 6ah battery?

    • @FunkFPV

Man, what a cool thing to have that can run off batteries. You could have coffee while you're camping too. Coffee in your car. You could have coffee in the bathroom. Sit out in the shed and avoid the family while drinking coffee.
Dude, working on mechanical stuff in the winter is THE WORST! It gets real bad when your hand are so cold for so long they kind of turn to into stone and they're dead numb. Seems like that's always when I bust all my knuckles and split all my fingers and nothing cooperates because it's cold and you can't focus because the cold wind cuts through you like an angry ninja. I am not looking forward to this winter....

It’s as good as the Keurig. I’ve found the pods will do 12 oz just fine.
If you’re going to use it in the house you’re better off getting a cheap K-cup machine that runs on 110 volts.
