- 1987 bootleg I was given maybe early 1988 (?). Still partying it up at LSU, but it was very clear how awesome this fucking band was. Needless to say, right? So this is another cut from "Power Metal", which I first heard on CASSETTE (that's how old I am) - I fucking loved this one. To say Darrell shreds the SHIT out of this song is such an understatement. Check out the studio version too . Think I actually wore that tape out until I got it on that new-fangled compact disc thing. Then I could always jump directly to "Pussytight" from "Over and Out" and this one. More coming soon . .
First Down Below live footage with Phil, before this video there was absolutely nothing, only the studio version
Honestly did not know that but how cool! I always loved the studio version on Power Metal. There was an even earlier one (I think) that was not as good, released before Phil arrived
@@mikepatterson437 Yeah there's footage from 1986 of them playing this with the old singer
Came to post this. This is a holy grail situation.
Well this is fucking amazing
This is pure gold, but the solo was not caught 😞
this. absolute misery
Phil’s stage moves were hilariously awesome, really cool to see this, I’m sure he wishes this footage didn’t exist but honestly he was just a kid at the time and it’s actually a testament to how talented he has always been
It’s annoying how ashamed they are of this era. Pantera was actually putting out good music at that time compared to the shit glam metal bands
@@QuinterobashI don’t think ashamed I think it’s more likely legal stuff with the record label and the old lead singer if they reissued all the old music then a lot of checks would have to be issued
tjey dont regret anything they changed as times changed
Yea. I'm not understanding why everyone thinks they were ashamed of all this. There is an interview on YT with Dime and Vinnie at Dime's house showing off old guitars and what not. The interviewer confronted them about this era. And Dime at one point said, "Man I wouldn't trade my gold spandex for nothing!"
I think the cameraguy didn't like dime :')
...just a little more to the right! 😩
I was there!
Cool do u know who filmed this??
@@mikepatterson437 no I thought u did
No I was not there. somebody gave me that bootleg in 1988 and I have no clue who that was or who filmed those shows. Would be amazing if they had more footage though. They were fucking unstoppable then
@@mikepatterson437 me and my dad were allowed to film Lillian Axe and Oliver Magnum, Pantera denied us.
Its interesting that no one seems to remember this was done in I Am The Night first.
No I knew because I have that one too but the Power Metal version is so much heavier
Than you for posting!!! This is great footage!!! Please keep them coming.
Thank you and yes there is more coming soon. Have one more show of 6-7 songs and another Darrell solo . . after all that I have an Acid Bath show that I filmed in 1996 if you are into them
My aunt Lisa was with them during this time
