Thomas Theorist, can I say that Rosie's theme in Season 10 was used before Rosie was even introduced? It was used in "Calling All Engines" in a scene where Thomas and Percy go to the Smelter's Yard (yet Rosie never appeared because she isn't anywhere in the special at all) and it was also used in "Thomas and the Jet Plane" when Percy sees Thomas looking down on himself after Thomas gets the moody impression that he thinks Jeremy is better than him because he can fly anywhere he goes and that he doesn't have to put up with cows on the tracks. Some may consider it lazy on HiT's part, but I don't know it feels like they foreshadowed a character through a musical theme.
@@ThomasTheorist Another thing, Bulgy must have seen your video and he seems unhappy about his theme being placed last at 64. Nothing I can do about it.
I can always remember Henry's HiT theme. It leaves a calm peaceful impact on me. Glad someone sees how grand Harvey's theme is. Murdoch's theme is peaceful, but strong, just like him. Thomas' HiT theme sounds mature, but in the era, he was a bit of a child at times. The fact you picked Henry's theme for number 1 makes me smile. It is my top pick too. It truly captures his tragedy and triumph perfectly. It is optimistic and makes me feel the same way. I need to start using it more often in my series. You earned yourself a like from that alone. The main themes I use in my series are Percy's classic theme and Harvey's theme. I will start using Henry's theme soon.
“They couldn’t even make a new theme for Rosie.” I remember someone once pointed that out. I’m not sure exactly why they recycled the motif for a whole new character. My best guess is that they felt the composition went to waste as incidental music.
For me my top 5 are: 5. Emily’s classic theme: It really suits her basis, the song really screams elegant and classic. It also has a touch of Victorian ballroom songs to it which suits her basis quite well as Stirling Single used to be Victorian era express premier. 4. James’s Jazzy classic theme: It really gives out 1940s Jazzy playboy kinda like which is what James is. 3. Edward’s theme: It has a notes of being a ‘older’ compared to other characters, the beat and tempo are not as modern as the rest but not as old either, and it sounds mature. 2. Henry’s Flying kipper suits: I agree with everything you said, the long version of this theme is a story in itself, starting of with a Flying Kipper which feels very hopeful as it was one of Henry’s first special job after being handicapped for so long, the way the instruments play also gives a night time vibes to it. The drop of music in the crash also fits perfectly, it really reflects Henry’s shattered hope and confusion. Then there was the last part which sounds even more hopeful than the first which is where Henry got his rebuilt. The music is pretty much a phrase “No matter how hard the life is, you will come back better and stronger.” 1. Gordon’s classic theme: This one screams speed and power, fast tempo, upbeat music, it suits him pretty well, the tempo also somehow matches the puffing sounds of Gresley A3 3-cylinder valve gear. I especially love the Upsidenow’s arrangement, it really epic.
7 months late but as for 29:36 The reason Duck's theme works well for waltz dancing is because it's effectively written as one. Duck's theme is in 3/4 time (3 beats per bar), and is at a steady tempo. Waltz pieces are primarily in 3/4 and have slower to medium tempos. Mike and Junior know their craft very well.
I'm really happy to see you have sources for the music. It's not hard to find recreations of the classic themes, or even some Hit era stuff, but CGI Thomas music available is really hard to come by aside from certain movie tracks. At least from what I've seen, and that's a shame, as I enjoy that music, even if it's a different style than the classics.
For me, my favourite Thomas theme of all time will always go to James' theme. It just clicked with me ever since I was a young girl. Always brightens up my spirit and I can easily think of it when I'm walking and get a small bounce in my step. Mike and Junior are absolute legends for a reason and James' theme is their greatest achievement.
Well, Daisy's classic theme evokes Cruella De Vil's theme for me at the beginning, out of unjustified reasons. I've didn't knew that it was originally based of The Stripper music. I'm ok with the HiT era themes, but Mike O'donnel and Junior Campbell's work are so magnificent, unique, fantastic, and nostalgic.
You know what’s funny? Someone showed this to a non-Thomas fan and the first thing they said was, “Why did they make Daisy a slut?” That is hysterical! 😂
It’s funny that you say Trevor’s theme is lesser known because I find it gets stuck in my head regularly, often without even hearing it. I’ll just randomly start humming it and then I can’t stop.
I totally agree with you during that bit where you said your opinion on which theme is best might change. My top 5 are: 5. The Runaway Theme 4. Thomas and the Trucks 3. Gordon’s Theme 2. Jame’s Jazzy Theme 1. Henry’s theme (I’m biased, he’s my favorite character.) Wonderful video!
My top 10: 1. Jazzy James/Triumphant James (Yes technically two separate pieces, but I can't listen to one without then going to the other. So, I count them as two parts to a single theme.) 2. Duncan's Theme 3. Henry's Theme 4. Edward's Theme 5. Donald & Douglas' Theme 6. Annie & Clarabelle's Theme (which I think is one that was missed) 7. Terrance's Theme 8. Emily's Theme 9. Sir Topham Hatt's Theme 10. Thomas' Theme (All are the classical versions, not HIT/CGI versions. More often then not, you can't beat a classic.)
I don't know if I'd say the same for the music that was actually used in the show, but the version of James' Triumph heard in Thomas Reorchestrated is hands down the best piece of music I think I've heard.
There were sadly a number of themes that you missed, which I will list below. - Fergus' S7 US Dub Theme, which became reused in Season 11 as Sir Handle's Theme - Spencer's HiT Era Theme - Murdoch's S7 US Dub Theme, which is nicely mashed up with Henry's HiT Era theme at the beginning of _Peace and Quiet_ - Arthur's S7 US Dub Theme, present in _Something Fishy_ - Harold's S7 US Dub Theme, heard in _The Flying Horse_ - Duncan's S7 US Dub Theme, a short tune heard throughout _Trusty Rusty_ - Toby's S8 Triumphant Theme, featured in _You Can Do It Toby!_ Very much how Edward's Theme got a triumphant remix in _Edward's Exploit_ the same applies here, but this time to HiT Era Toby. - Skarloey's HiT Era Theme - Rheneas's HiT Era Theme - Peter Sam's HiT Era Theme - Rusty's HiT Era Theme, heard in _Rusty's Tuneful Toots_ - Duncan's HiT Era Theme (Hartshorne gave him two themes) - Proteus' Magic Lamp Theme, heard in the climax of _The Magic Lamp_ - Jeremy's Theme, heard at the very end of _The Great Discovery_ it sounds like Superman's theme. - Jeremy's landing Theme, heard in _Thomas and the Spaceship_ - Neville's Theme, a short ditty heard in _Thomas and the New Engine_ - Dennis' Theme, which was reworked as Henry's Crash Theme in _Big Strong Henry_ - Madge's Theme, heard in all her major roles - Henry's S14 Theme, heard in _Henry's Health and Safety_ (I think) - Harvey's S17 Theme, heard in _Gone Fishing_ - Winstone's Runaway Theme, heard in _Wayward Winstone_ - Duck's S22 Theme, heard in _School of Duck_
Well this is an interesting video as Thomas & Friends definitely has had a lot of good and bad music through its time on the show. Although I have realize you did forget some character themes mostly hit era such as Molly, Neville, Dennis, Mighty Mac, Freddie, and Hank. Also I can't be the only one who finds it funny yet interesting that Henry's hit era theme is at the bottom of your list while his classic theme is at the top kind of poetic when you think about it. Also my five favorite themes are Mighty Mac's theme, the never Overlook a little engine remix themes, Oliver's theme, Toby's season 1 theme, and Edwards season 2 theme. Keep up the good work Adam and I can't wait to see more videos!
You wouldn't even believe how MANY remixes from Thomas' Jazzy Theme (the Thomas & the Trucks theme) has, even if the theme is on a different season style, or even if it's in the style of a video game's theme Trust me, I'm also a Thomas music creator and I know what I'm talking about B) Still, this video was great!
What I love about the classic themes is there are many alternative versions like in season 1 Henry has regular, sad and kipper versions. In season 3 Oliver has his escape version as well as oliver owns up version
OK, there was so much in here that if I am going to take a top five or a top 10 I would have to rewatch this entire thing and think about it really hard. Lol. But for right now, I will state my favorite one and why. I know this isn’t the case for a lot of people, but my absolute favorite theme is the Skarloey railway theme. I actually got into the show pretty late in childhood around the age of eight, and I know for a fact that I didn’t take time to analyze characters or themes back then, but for some reason, this is the one that stuck with me all those years from when I started watching a different channel and wasn’t able to see the show anymore to when I got back into the show a couple of months ago after going through a pretty hard time. I couldn’t remember all of those names and places from when I was younger, but upon hearing that theme, everything became clear and I suddenly remembered all of those details. The theme invokes a sense of so many things. Beauty, sorrow, despair/melancholy, overcoming obstacles and probably one of the most important aspects of all, longevity and hope. To your point about it being able to represent so many different characters, the way I see it, it’s the different variants of it that represent different characters. Kind of like how the hit era does it. I kind of hate all of the Narrowgauge hit era themes, but that’s besides the point. The way I see it, the theme that everyone regards as the main theme best suits Skarloey. I don’t know, I just feel like it encapsulates all aspects of his personality, and in a roundabout way, illustrates the character arc the show never gave us. The ambient version best suits Rheneas. He definitely has the softer and lighter personality out of the two of them and the brighter theme illustrates that. I know it was never exactly used for him, but I just feel like it works so well with his personality. The others are a little bit harder to pinpoint, I’ve seen other UA-camrs do it, but it’s harder for me to do it myself. I base a lot of my thinking off of character analyzation, and I know that it may differ from a lot of people, but that’s just how I see it.
6:40 i think nia could’ve used a sometimes you make a friend or we’re friends instrumental for her theme but that’s just my opinion 37:20 fun fact: edwards theme is basically a slowed down remix of gordons theme at points.
Definitivamente el tema de Henry es el mejor! Captura toda su personalidad y grandeza como Locomotora de la LMS, te da la sensación de viajar en su tren, asomando la cabeza por el vagón! Simplemente hermoso!
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Nia _did_ have her own theme in "Counting on Nia". As for my top 5, I'm thinking: 1. Viaduct/Repairs/Harbour 2. Skarloey Railway 3. Trevor 4. Toby (specifically the remix from "Time for Trouble") 5. Annie and Clarabel
Got to the end of the video and I couldn't agree more for your number one theme. I recognized the music before the words came up and instantly went "Oh hell yes"
My Top 10 Favorite Thomas Character Themes would have to be: 1. Thomas (All Classic Series Versions) 2. Skarloey (A Bad Day For Sir Handel Version) 3. James (Classic Series) 4. Bill and Ben (Season 2, Every Cloud) 5. Edward (Classic Series) 6. Duck (Season 2) 7. Percy (Seasons 1-2; Seaside Trip) 8. Henry (Season 1) 9. Bertie (Season 1, Let’s Have A Race) 10. Emily (Hit Era) (Gordon, Topham, Mavis, Diesel, and Harold all deserve honorable mentions)
I never had been too fond of the theme made for Rebecca, it just doesn't suit the character well. Classic Series Creations (in this case Wisteria Bird Studios) really did a much brilliant job with their own theme for her, which also suits her pretty well and in a way almost reminded me of Arthur's HiT theme.
Well done! 👏👏👏 Yep I agree with your top 3, love Stepney's theme. Thomas theme is very iconic, versatile. What you describe with Henry's theme is exactly how I feel, that coupled with Henry's tragic story, it always gets me too.
Great video! Though I'm not much a fan of the Dutch angles and zoom outs you used in editing. Here are some missing themes I noticed: Annie and Clarabel's theme. George's theme. Diesel 10's theme. Stephen's theme. Hiro's theme (one of my favorites.) Percy's theme from Very Important Sheep. Donald and Douglas' Hartshorne theme (though it's also used for Callan Castle in the Hit Era.) Duck's CGI theme.
I’m still surprised that they made Rosie have a younger personality and not that of a military railroader. She is a US army locomotive, an s100 to be exact, so it would have made more sense to give her a personality akin to that of a military soldier. Also, they should have remade her model. It doesn’t even vaguely resemble an s100 despite being based on one. I know many people have made 3d models of s100s, and they’re a very simple design, so why they didn’t rework her model is beyond me.
Ngl I love this list and you brought up a good point on how flexible Henry's theme is and this is definitely a hard ranking for any fan especially considering how you have to take in how the theme changes per season (like thomas and Percy's mellowing out through classic series) or different variations (like sad, triumphant or night) and if you think about it Henry's themes tick off those two boxes perfectly. Though in my opinion here are my ten personal favorite. 10. James 9. Stepney 8. Skarloey 7. Percy 6. Thomas 5. Oliver 4. Edward 3. Gordon 2. Henry 1. Donald and Douglas

Holy cow! This was a video I'd want to do but don't have the time, I do play an instrument (trombone) but I'm not the best at it. The only thing I think you got wrong was that the flute probably can't go that high, and it was probably the piccolo, but besides that that was it. In terms of Thomas issues, you forgot George but I don't know of anyone else. Good job for making this video!
I agree so much with the top 1 theme As someone who have music as second special music and know a lot about it Henry's theme is just so amazing! It fits perfectly him and the struggle that he had to go through and the way after the flying keeper he got re-built and never had the coal issue again It's fitting for him and overall sounds really nice^^
Henry’s theme has all those variants that bring more to the character and brings more reason that Henry is my favourite character! His S1 theme brings out the triumph and the sadness in him and the S3 theme brings out the nature loving side of him. And also the flying kipper theme is just the flying kipper and the way the crash takes place is amazing.
I can't believe Trevor's theme is considered forgotten. back when I got back in thomas and friends, the theme would be stuck in me and my family heads. My dad says it's he favorite
You say Trevor's theme is lesser known, yet I instantly recognized it lol! Though I'm not sure my judgment should be used on that since I, while born in 2006, was much more exposed to the classic series rather than the hit era that was around in my childhood! DVDs and VHSs were my primary source of Thomas content. So while not intentionally so, I was more exposed to the true, original Thomas that Awdry had envisioned!
I kinda agree with Gordon for me his hit era theme fits better for his more noble and triumphant moments like it could fit in something like pushing james up the hill in trouble with mud or rescuing thomas in down the mine
My top theme are 1. James theme hit era 2. James theme cgi era 3. Daisy theme CGI 4. Mike's theme 5. Rex's theme 6. Emily hit era theme 7. Edward's hit theme 8. Harold theme 9. Bertie theme And 10. The packs theme
For me the number one theme is Spencer’s CGI theme. It is miles better than the other 2 themes because it is much quicker and grander, it makes me feel so grand and jubilant. It is great and one detail I noticed is that the Miller era runaway theme sounds a bit like the spencer theme, but more dangerous and scary. It deserves to be #1 on my list, and I am slightly offended that you didn’t include it on your list. If you can, please tell me your thoughts by replying to me.
Great ranking video! Thomas's theme is my favorite out of all of the others. Simple and easy. Henry's theme is also really good and Edward's aswell! But Thomas's theme is my number 1 favorite!
Out of curiosity (since it's not in the description), I'd like to ask where you got Rebecca's theme, so I can earworm it myself. Also, there were a couple themes you missed that I'd like to ask about, primarily some of the Series 7/HiT variants (Murdoch, Arthur and Spencer are the ones that come to mind, though there's probably others). So I don't overload this comment, I won't go into any others, but just out of curiosity. Great video, definitely going to have to take a listen to some of these.
13:09 I really do like Murdoch's theme! His them sounds very grand, very bold, although I'd say it suffers from being almost too triumphant, murdoch dose have a little boldness and cockyness to him, but he's also a shy gentle giant :]
Thomas’s theme from season 3-4 is my absolute favorite from the whole series i just love how orchestrated the whole piece is and it flows very nicely 🥲
I find i like robert harshorne's themes sometimes. He used a lot brass in the beginning amd they were fine. He reallt came into his own in the later cgi seasons. He is really good when it come to woodwinds actually, though he did compose several scores that sound good with mainly brass.
Minor theme you missed is the Donald and Douglas theme from bad day at Castle Loch. It’s only in the US version, and I think it’s literally the only time it was ever used. But it’s a nice little variation.
Henry's classic era theme also gives of the vibe of going on a long journey, a fan cover of it was used in scene from a episode of a TF2 fan series as music the theme for when three of the characters we going on a long journey to a tournament.
22:46. I agree with that. I like Emily's HiT theme more than her season 7 theme. I also have to mention that they used Emily's HiT theme in S18 episode 3: Flatbeds of Fear
My Top 5: 1. Thomas OG Theme/Henry OG Theme (Thomas OG Theme on top tho) 2. Skarloey Railway Theme 3. Percy OG Theme 4. Edward OG Theme 5. James OG Theme/ Duck OG Theme
I admit, I haven't finished the video yet, I'm only up to Ruth's theme. I will say that all your choices so far to make sense to me and you manage to explain yourself very succinctly without going overboard. I like that. Anyway, your comments about Ruth herself stirred up some thoughts I had about her. She would've worked much better if, instead of some random inventor, she was the chief mechanical engineer of the Steamworks and doubled as Victor's driver. She could've built a gauge-converter wagon for Victor (you know, a concept taken from RWS lore) so that he could be Ruth's chauffeur and help with maintenance and remote breakdowns that don't require an extended visit to the works
My top 10 favourite themes 10. Emily's Theme 9. Bill and Ben's Theme 8. Daisy's Theme 7. Percy's Theme 6. Henry's Theme 5. Diesel's theme 4. Donald and Douglas' theme 3. Skarloey Railway Theme 2. Viaduct Theme 1. Duck's Theme Honourable mentions (Edward's Theme, Oliver's Theme, Toby's Theme, Stepney's Theme, and Murdoch's Theme) Thomas was my childhood.
Mike and Junior are absolute legends for a reason and James' theme is their greatest achievement.
i absolutely love james’s original theme, and especially the lyrical version “james the really splendid engine” omg it’s awesome
Well, Daisy's classic theme evokes Cruella De Vil's theme for me at the beginning, out of unjustified reasons. I've didn't knew that it was originally based of The Stripper music.
I'm ok with the HiT era themes, but Mike O'donnel and Junior Campbell's work are so magnificent, unique, fantastic, and nostalgic.
you know what? I think your right!
@@ThomasTheorist why you delete your fun fact video
You know what’s funny? Someone showed this to a non-Thomas fan and the first thing they said was, “Why did they make Daisy a slut?” That is hysterical! 😂
This is a cool novelty, and it allows for other composers beside Mike and Junior to get their time in the spotlight.
The one song I remember the most is james' theme
THAT SWING RYTHM IS SO PERFECT
It’s funny that you say Trevor’s theme is lesser known because I find it gets stuck in my head regularly, often without even hearing it. I’ll just randomly start humming it and then I can’t stop.
I totally agree with you during that bit where you said your opinion on which theme is best might change. My top 5 are:
5. The Runaway Theme
4. Thomas and the Trucks
3. Gordon’s Theme
2. Jame’s Jazzy Theme
1. Henry’s theme (I’m biased, he’s my favorite character.)
Wonderful video!
My top 10:
1. Jazzy James/Triumphant James (Yes technically two separate pieces, but I can't listen to one without then going to the other. So, I count them as two parts to a single theme.)
2. Duncan's Theme
3. Henry's Theme
4. Edward's Theme
5. Donald & Douglas' Theme
6. Annie & Clarabelle's Theme (which I think is one that was missed)
7. Terrance's Theme
8. Emily's Theme
9. Sir Topham Hatt's Theme
10. Thomas' Theme
(All are the classical versions, not HIT/CGI versions. More often then not, you can't beat a classic.)
I don't know if I'd say the same for the music that was actually used in the show, but the version of James' Triumph heard in Thomas Reorchestrated is hands down the best piece of music I think I've heard.
Emily's HIT theme and Henry's classic theme live rent-free in my head.
I quite agree!
And classic Gordon
Oh, absolutely!
There were sadly a number of themes that you missed, which I will list below.
- Fergus' S7 US Dub Theme, which became reused in Season 11 as Sir Handle's Theme
- Spencer's HiT Era Theme
- Murdoch's S7 US Dub Theme, which is nicely mashed up with Henry's HiT Era theme at the beginning of _Peace and Quiet_
- Arthur's S7 US Dub Theme, present in _Something Fishy_
- Harold's S7 US Dub Theme, heard in _The Flying Horse_
- Duncan's S7 US Dub Theme, a short tune heard throughout _Trusty Rusty_
- Toby's S8 Triumphant Theme, featured in _You Can Do It Toby!_ Very much how Edward's Theme got a triumphant remix in _Edward's Exploit_ the same applies here, but this time to HiT Era Toby.
- Skarloey's HiT Era Theme
- Rheneas's HiT Era Theme
- Peter Sam's HiT Era Theme
- Rusty's HiT Era Theme, heard in _Rusty's Tuneful Toots_
- Duncan's HiT Era Theme (Hartshorne gave him two themes)
- Proteus' Magic Lamp Theme, heard in the climax of _The Magic Lamp_
- Jeremy's Theme, heard at the very end of _The Great Discovery_ it sounds like Superman's theme.
- Jeremy's landing Theme, heard in _Thomas and the Spaceship_
- Neville's Theme, a short ditty heard in _Thomas and the New Engine_
- Dennis' Theme, which was reworked as Henry's Crash Theme in _Big Strong Henry_
- Madge's Theme, heard in all her major roles
- Henry's S14 Theme, heard in _Henry's Health and Safety_ (I think)
- Harvey's S17 Theme, heard in _Gone Fishing_
- Winstone's Runaway Theme, heard in _Wayward Winstone_
- Duck's S22 Theme, heard in _School of Duck_
What about the classic Derek and George themes?
@@ImsorrywatThose too.

You wouldn't even believe how MANY remixes from Thomas' Jazzy Theme (the Thomas & the Trucks theme) has, even if the theme is on a different season style, or even if it's in the style of a video game's theme
Trust me, I'm also a Thomas music creator and I know what I'm talking about B)
Still, this video was great!
My top 5 Thomas themes
1. Rebecca's theme
2. Thomas season 6 theme
3. Toby's theme
4. Red Rosie's theme
5. Diesels classic theme
Strangely, for me, I don't hate overusage. In fact, the overusage of Edward's Classic Theme is another reason I love it so much, for some reason.
What I love about the classic themes is there are many alternative versions like in season 1 Henry has regular, sad and kipper versions. In season 3 Oliver has his escape version as well as oliver owns up version
@@LegendaryCaptain Agreed.
35:09. Fact, whenever I ride my Bike at full speed of run, I listen to Gordon's theme lol
6:40 i think nia could’ve used a sometimes you make a friend or we’re friends instrumental for her theme but that’s just my opinion
37:20 fun fact: edwards theme is basically a slowed down remix of gordons theme at points.
That would've been GREAT, just like Ashima's theme in TGR
@@ThomasTheorist exactly! because the songs become a critical part of not just thomas but the character he sings it with!
Kind of ironic that James the #5 engine is ranked at 6, while Percy the #6 engine is ranked at 5.
was expecting you to show us the actual themes but its still a good video!
Definitivamente el tema de Henry es el mejor! Captura toda su personalidad y grandeza como Locomotora de la LMS, te da la sensación de viajar en su tren, asomando la cabeza por el vagón! Simplemente hermoso!
I love Henry's theme in the classics I usually listen to it on bike trips!
This was great! Also you forgot George and Derek lol
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Nia _did_ have her own theme in "Counting on Nia".
As for my top 5, I'm thinking:
1. Viaduct/Repairs/Harbour
2. Skarloey Railway
3. Trevor
4. Toby (specifically the remix from "Time for Trouble")
5. Annie and Clarabel
i think the harbour theme is different from viaduct and repairs
Robert Hartshorne was also composed 6 episodes from series 6 and every episodes of series 7 in US and almost every episode in UK.
Got to the end of the video and I couldn't agree more for your number one theme. I recognized the music before the words came up and instantly went "Oh hell yes"
My Top 10 Favorite Thomas Character Themes would have to be:
1. Thomas (All Classic Series Versions)
2. Skarloey (A Bad Day For Sir Handel Version)
3. James (Classic Series)
4. Bill and Ben (Season 2, Every Cloud)
5. Edward (Classic Series)
6. Duck (Season 2)
7. Percy (Seasons 1-2; Seaside Trip)
8. Henry (Season 1)
9. Bertie (Season 1, Let’s Have A Race)
10. Emily (Hit Era)
(Gordon, Topham, Mavis, Diesel, and Harold all deserve honorable mentions)
I never had been too fond of the theme made for Rebecca, it just doesn't suit the character well. Classic Series Creations (in this case Wisteria Bird Studios) really did a much brilliant job with their own theme for her, which also suits her pretty well and in a way almost reminded me of Arthur's HiT theme.
wat is rebeccas character?
Well done! 👏👏👏
Yep I agree with your top 3, love Stepney's theme. Thomas theme is very iconic, versatile.
What you describe with Henry's theme is exactly how I feel, that coupled with Henry's tragic story, it always gets me too.
Fabulous ranking! Henrys theme is definitely my favorite
Great video! Though I'm not much a fan of the Dutch angles and zoom outs you used in editing.
Here are some missing themes I noticed:
Annie and Clarabel's theme.
George's theme.
Diesel 10's theme.
Stephen's theme.
Hiro's theme (one of my favorites.)
Percy's theme from Very Important Sheep.
Donald and Douglas' Hartshorne theme (though it's also used for Callan Castle in the Hit Era.)
Duck's CGI theme.
I will work on that! I think I did it that way cause I was using images! Instead of footage... but yeah I kinda agree
@@ThomasTheorist Understandable, since you didn't want Mattel's grubby mitts on your video. Great video regardless.
Fun fact James's theme was based on Beese bounce by henry besay.
10. James
9. Stepney
8. Skarloey
7. Percy
6. Thomas
5. Oliver
4. Edward
3. Gordon
2. Henry
1. Donald and Douglas

Lol fun fact the melody to Bulgy's theme in Bulgy Rides Again is just the melody of Bertie's theme, but recomposed and slowed down 😭
Good job for making this video!
yeah, a few people sid about George too!
The Skarloey Railway Theme is so magical.
I agree so much with the top 1 theme
As someone who have music as second special music and know a lot about it Henry's theme is just so amazing!
It fits perfectly him and the struggle that he had to go through and the way after the flying keeper he got re-built and never had the coal issue again
It's fitting for him and overall sounds really nice^^
In my opinion, the hit era themes represent the characters way more, but the classic themes just try to make good music.
r/angryupvote
I kinda agree with Gordon for me his hit era theme fits better for his more noble and triumphant moments like it could fit in something like pushing james up the hill in trouble with mud or rescuing thomas in down the mine
Trevor's Theme has been living in me head rent-free for the past seven years
17:00 You know that Rosie's theme is a random reused Season 9 theme.
My top theme are
1. James theme hit era
2. James theme cgi era
3. Daisy theme CGI
4. Mike's theme
5. Rex's theme
6. Emily hit era theme
7. Edward's hit theme
8. Harold theme
9. Bertie theme
And 10. The packs theme
"Daisy''s theme is too provocative and has always rubbed me the wrong way..."
Okay, Soccer Dad!
He’s not wrong, it’s funny, but definitely sticks out like a sore thumb
For me the number one theme is Spencer’s CGI theme. It is miles better than the other 2 themes because it is much quicker and grander, it makes me feel so grand and jubilant. It is great and one detail I noticed is that the Miller era runaway theme sounds a bit like the spencer theme, but more dangerous and scary. It deserves to be #1 on my list, and I am slightly offended that you didn’t include it on your list. If you can, please tell me your thoughts by replying to me.
yeah it's pretty great ngl

Simple and easy. Henry's theme is also really good and Edward's aswell! But Thomas's theme is my number 1 favorite!
Great vid really enjoyed it 🐐
Thomas and the trucks is one of my favorites and I love when the trucks start pushing and the music start intensifying

@@ThomasTheorist Thanks!
Henry is my favorite character and his theme is just incredible. Great choice!
I agree with your number 1, Henry's Theme never left my head especially the Henry's Forest theme
Are you going to do secondary themes like the viaduct, watermill, or busy themes?
17:00 lots of people don’t realise Rosie’s theme was originally a travel theme in calling all engines
13:09 I really do like Murdoch's theme! His them sounds very grand, very bold, although I'd say it suffers from being almost too triumphant, murdoch dose have a little boldness and cockyness to him, but he's also a shy gentle giant :]
My rankings are:
1.Henry’s theme
2.James’s theme
3.Edward’s theme
4.Toby’s theme
5.Emily’s theme
6.Emily’s HiT theme
7.Oliver’s theme
8.Donald & Douglas CGI theme
9.Stepney’s theme
10.Duck’s theme
I really, really hope this doesn't get copyright striked.
Keep in mind Gordon’s theme in this video is lower pitched so S A Music wouldn’t get copyrighted and the original is much better
Minor theme you missed is the Donald and Douglas theme from bad day at Castle Loch. It’s only in the US version, and I think it’s literally the only time it was ever used. But it’s a nice little variation.
It’s also used in Henry and the Flagpole too.
My favourite thomas theme is edward's CGI theme.
You're not the only 1 who likes ruth, i also like her !
yeah agreed
@@ThomasTheorist the theme from edward the hero (which is also the best CGI miller episode)

you get two thumbs up too, lad!
36:40 when I was at this part I wasn't connecting at first, so when the zoomed in percy face came up, it genuinely scared me
My favourite theme also Henry’s
Henry's classic era theme also gives of the vibe of going on a long journey, a fan cover of it was used in scene from a episode of a TF2 fan series as music the theme for when three of the characters we going on a long journey to a tournament.
22:46. I agree with that. I like Emily's HiT theme more than her season 7 theme.
I also have to mention that they used Emily's HiT theme in S18 episode 3: Flatbeds of Fear
My Top 5:
1. Thomas OG Theme/Henry OG Theme (Thomas OG Theme on top tho)
2. Skarloey Railway Theme
3. Percy OG Theme
4. Edward OG Theme
5. James OG Theme/ Duck OG Theme
nice list!
@@ThomasTheorist thanks bro
What about Spencer's cgi theme you can hear it in hero of the rails and Spencer's vip
Here's my top 5
1. Flying kipper
2. Lukes theme ( Obs)
3. Skarloey theme
4. Thomas and the trucks
5. Rosie's hit theme
30:38 the best
My top 10 favourite themes
10. Emily's Theme
9. Bill and Ben's Theme
8. Daisy's Theme
7. Percy's Theme
6. Henry's Theme
5. Diesel's theme
4. Donald and Douglas' theme
3. Skarloey Railway Theme
2. Viaduct Theme
1. Duck's Theme
Honourable mentions (Edward's Theme, Oliver's Theme, Toby's Theme, Stepney's Theme, and Murdoch's Theme)
Thomas was my childhood. I'm glad to say I'm a Born again fan of the show at 16 years of age. The themes for each character is something I believe defines Thomas as a show itself. During the 7 year range of not being interested in Thomas, I still had the themes in my head for years.
Ngl I love your 2nd and 1st ranking. I agree with your logic wholeheartly.
The Season 4 Skarloey Railway theme matches the hard work of the engines, whereas the Season 7 variant matches the beauty of the Railway itself imo.
You have to also admit, Diesel's CGI theme sounds like Rockstar Studios could've produced it
I agree with this opinion! thanks for this video!
