You are so right Bill. I'm finally having fun squatting since I dropped the weight down and have been working a lot of reps. Seems like it's really helping my confidence. How's your training coming along ?

@@fitman046e Hi Stephen, yes, it looks like you are doing well with this new strategy. Like you say, you do need to keep an eye on depth, though the camera angle is not the best for judging that. My training is generally going slow. Upper body and pressing is all hypertrophy at the moment, sets of 10 or 10 till Christmas. Deadlift is low volume and not heavy, I'm only pushing squat atm, as I still have issues with my SI joint. All change in the new year though.

@@billwestwater3098 Best of luck with your training Bill and also recovering from the SI joint. I did purchase a squat box and have it set to depth and have started working it into my squat workout, but only at lighter weights until I get used to it.

@@fitman046e One rehab exercise I have found very useful for the SI joint is banded clam shells. Has made quite a difference. A squat box is a useful tool just to get you used to depth. I have also used one quite a bit at various times

After 29 years away from powerlifting I decided to start again, so 2 1/2 years ago I began my journey. I initially trained 6 days a week hitting each compound movement twice, but after awhile I was fatigued and dreaded going to the gym, so I changed my routine. Now I do squats on Monday, chest on Tuesday, take Wednesday off, deadlift on Thursday and Triceps Friday. I work biceps on Monday when I do legs and I do shoulders on Friday. I take the weekend off and my body seems to recover better with the additional days off. Thank you for the question and best wishes with your training.

I don't take steroids, but I am on TRT to keep my levels in the normal range.
