Thank you so much for including the patterns! I've started to work on my own set of armor and I just haven't been able to get the shoulders right. Also, laminating the thick piece of foam with the 1mm foam is a genius idea to smooth it out and get rid of the gaps.
I absolutely LOVE this vid, it is beyond helpful. I'm building a cosplay Mandalorian armor for the first time & this is such a great vid on a major piece of his armor. I'm hoping you do more so I can learn how to do it the proper way. Keep up the great work, you earned a sub from me for sure. This is the way!
Thanks for this! Took me a sec to realize that the top details were slightly different sizes and that's why you went with two 2mm strips instead on a single 4mm :)
Thank you! We just added the 3D files for her hammer to our shop as well. Debating if we want to mold and cast it or just have the files and 3D printed kits for sale.
Excellent work! If you're making your own Mandalorian helmet off Punished Prop's pattern, (and if you haven't done it already) please be aware that: his pattern appears to be slightly too wide, and the cheek design for Mando's helmet is slightly different: it's comprised of two flat pieces instead of single round one.
Thanks for the heads up! We're actually focused on the Armorer helmet at the moment - we'll be molding and selling resin casts of that one (pre-orders are up now! www.etsy.com/listing/740872334/pre-order-resin-helmet-inspired-by-the) But we'll be using Bill's pattern for our kid's helmet so we aren't TOO worried about screen accuracy for that :)
It really depends on how big your six-year-old is but as a starting point I'd suggest printing it out at 75% scale. Then just cut out and tape the pieces together and test ft it as a paper mockup version. Then you can scale up or down from there if it's not the right fit!
Collin Nuccio we just did a quick 2 step process for this one - 2 coats of leak seal and 2 coats of metallic rattle can. Unfortunately this particular metallic paint has been discontinued :(
This is really great! I have been thinking about my own build and thought 'wow!' when you laminated w the 1MM. I would never have thought of that. Fun watch, very informative. Question: how did you, and, what did you use for the paint and seal process? Thanks very much! THIS IS THE WAY! ❤😉💕😌
