I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the eight-hundred-fifth day of the war.
Day 805: May 08
Today, there are a lot of updates from the Avdiivka direction.
Here, Russians have paid a heavy toll in their attempts to cross the fields in front of Umanske.
After breaking through the Ukrainian defenses in the north and taking control over the settlement of Ocheretyne, Russians have slowly diverted their offensive actions towards their objectives in the North. This change of direction confused many analysts, as Russians had initially focused on the Ukrainian defenses to the West. The ultimate Russian goal to the West is to take control over Pokrovsk, which serves as the main Ukrainian headquarters in this direction. However, if we look at the developments in the fields in front of Umanske, we can better understand how the Russians have been forced to deprioritize their ambitious goal of taking Pokrovsk.
As you may remember, Russians had conducted a large wave of attacks in the fields between Umanske and Tonenke. Ultimately, these attacks failed due to a multitude of reasons. Firstly, if we look at the geography of the region, we can see that Russian attacks through these fields are funneled together by the rivers to the north and south. Additionally, the river branch stretching through the fields condenses the funnel even further. This forces any Russian attack to follow a predictable path, making them far more manageable for Ukrainian defenders, as they can open fire on them from multiple directions.
Secondly, this direction was being defended by the Ukrainian 25th airborne brigade and the 53rd mechanized brigade. Both consist of experienced and well-equipped soldiers who are more than capable of fending off Russian attacks. A Ukrainian military blogger stated that Ukrainian defenders had established well-prepared positions, utilizing the terrain to draw Russian assault groups into kill zones before finishing them off with anti-tank mines, ATGMs, artillery, and FPV drones. The Ukrainian blogger also stated that Russian assault groups lacked tactics in their attempted breakthroughs, being unprepared to dynamically face the Ukrainian defense.
After these failed assault waves, Ukrainian military bloggers shared satellite images showcasing the huge Russian losses in the fields in front of Tonenke. The military bloggers state that the fields in front of Tonenke had turned into a graveyard of Russian armored vehicles. The images show the disabled and destroyed wreaks of 77 Russian armored vehicles, to only 5 Ukrainian vehicles. The military bloggers also stated that the satellite images only show the most intense and concentrated clashes between Russian and Ukrainian units. Russian forces had also conducted numerous attacks with smaller assault groups consisting of one or two armored vehicles at a time. Adding these Russian losses to the total amounts to over 100 Russian losses in tanks and armored vehicles alone.
After these failed initial attacks, a Russian officer stated that Russian forces would ultimately be able to overload the Ukrainian defenses if they only sent forward more waves of armored assaults. As it turns out, the Russian commanders followed his advice and immediately started a monthlong operation to cross the fields. A Ukrainian soldier active in the area stated that throughout this operation, Russians conducted constant artillery preparations on Ukrainian positions with artillery, multiple rocket launch systems, and air strikes with “fab” glide bombs and “kab” guided munitions.
In response, Ukrainian drone operators undermined Russian close-fire support capabilities by targeting Russian mortar emplacements with FPV drones. Russian forces attempted to hide these emplacements in the settlement of Tonenke. Still, they were constantly spotted, as the intensity of fighting here had left the settlement in ruins, leaving little cover for the Russian mortar teams or infantry.
Over the next two weeks, Russians continued their mechanized assaults through the fields. Ukrainian forces released a multitude of combat footage showing how they repelled or destroyed these Russian attacks with guided anti-tank missiles and FPV kamikaze drones. As the monthlong battle went on, and Russian armor losses kept mounting, Russian forces started decreasing the armored support of their infantry fighting in the fields. Ukrainian fighters in the area stated that Russians started using tanks more sparingly and from increasingly larger ranges as indirect fire platforms...

Ukraine should be provided with an enough fighter aircraft to form airforce, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, including ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range versions should be sent to them]), and the russian military facilities inside of russian territory should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans understand that not only is aiding Ukraine the morally right thing to do, it is the practical thing to do also. America has spent something like approximately 6% of our military budget so far to aid Ukraine. However, more than half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

Tks for the reporting
I was waiting for this development for a long time. Drone mounted machine guns are a very scary but inevitable technology.
🐾 AI 🐦
Just like 'Ghost Recon Breakpoint'
It's basically an A-10 Warthog.
Except WAY cheaper.
Russia made these weapons long time ago, remember the flying AKs? 🤣,
Won't happen. Too much recoil and weight of the machine gun will be too much for the drones they are using. Yes they could bring some drones that can handle the weight but they recoil will still be too much to be accurate.
Thank you for the updates

It's absolutely insane seeing the evolution of combat technology, now we have machine gun drones 💀 truly a terrifying time to be alive.
Flying machine guns vs mechanized shovels, what a world we live in
May be necessary, but quite horrifying
Rpg's on drones? That's a new level of hell the Russians were not prepared for.
SLAVA UKRAINE ❤❤❤❤❤❤SLAVA UKRAINE ❤❤❤❤❤❤
If we see heavy drones armed with non-recoil rifles and accurate electronic targeting aid, things will become really nasty for enemy troops
I report it on UA-cam too...
When I was young, the idea of mounting guns on radio controlled flying machines was out there, but no one was seriously trying to do it. Even after the US military started using UAVs, the idea of small drones with machine guns seemed a bit far out....but now, it seems like some new sort of armed drone is heard of every few weeks. I just wish I could afford even a cheap drone (that flies, that is, I have a couple of cheap drones that can't fly straight...or long enough to adjust. Don't buy extremely cheap drones.
What Ukraine needs for the machinegun mounted drones is the 1960s US Gyrojet technology.
'The Gyrojet is a family of unique firearms developed in the 1960s named for the method of gyroscopically stabilizing its projectiles. Rather than inert bullets, Gyrojets fire small rockets called Microjets which have little recoil and do not require a heavy barrel or chamber to resist the pressure of the combustion gases. Velocity on leaving the tube was very low, but increased to around 1,250 feet per second (380 m/s) at 30 feet (9.1 m).' from Wikipedia.
@teamyoutube please keep this channel alive.
It’s funny how over 6 months ago there was tons of talk about how Russians would run out of tanks and armor. Not happening still.
But you are seeing more and more T54s and T 64s and less and less T80s and T90s. The quality of their tanks is steadily decreasing.
There was only 1 tank in the Mayday parade.
A T34.
No T72s , T80s, T90s or T14s.
One.
The number of tank deployments is decreasing on a weekly basis it seems.
those drone mashine guns remind me of WW2 germany and new wunder waffe.
They need to develop a drone that allows the machine gun to be mounted between the props. There will still be recoil, but it won't cause the rotation that an underslung mounted gun gets, which will make aiming more accurate and consistent.
Isn't the next step to start making like 1/10th sized metal gears? Maybe some 4 legged things that can stand up into a quadrapod that raises up to like 5-8 meters?

It's so terrifying to see this shit being developed and perfected. Fuck.
Sure enough, between missions supporting the infantry, the 47th Mechanized Brigade deployed M-2s on tank-hunting missions. In a single furious skirmish in southern Ukraine last summer, one Bradley crew reportedly knocked out two Russian T-72 tanks.
The 47th Mechanized Brigade has been in combat non-stop for a year. It has taken a toll on the brigade’s M-2 battalions. The analysts at the open-source intelligence collective Oryx have tallied 37 destroyed Bradleys and dozens of damaged ones. As it fought that Russian offensive west of Avdiivka last month, the brigade was running out of M-2s.
wow, gun drones huh. Necessity powers innovation it seems
Why is UA-cam working against everyone who supports Ukraine? Which side is UA-cam on??
"Outsmarting the Ukrainians was easy. You see the Ukrainians only had so much ammo that they couldn't continue to fight if they ran out of them. So I fed wave after wave of my own troops into the Ukrainian guns until the Ukrainian ammo ran out and they had to retreat."
- Interview of a Russian commander after getting a medal for successful taking of Yasnobrodivka
Recoil and weight(ammo) are the obvious downsides of small arms drones. The Octocopters can solve the second issue, but the first can lead in a diferent direction: Combining AI based aim and stabilization with low fire rate, high stoping power rifles, recoil could become much less of an issue. The resulting long range sniper drones would be able to efficiently kill enemy targets from farther than can be detected by eye, and much safer from the conventional ECM options.

those drones are cute and all and bless the Ukrainian's for pioneering what will likely be next gen warfare with no one on the battlefield and a bunch of drones just flying around being shot down but they're useless in the long run... even if they get the stabilization down they've made the visibility of these drones far larger, less stealthy and easier targets to take down by other means including just spraying bullets at it... it's nice they're working on the recoil but it's funny that even still you need operators for the drones AND you still need people on the front lines... stop treating this war like it's a MechWarrior game that you're going to win by simply fighting remotely... know though that the US military is watching EVERYTHING you do very closely and adapting it's strategies and tactics accordingly... you are continuing to feed the number one military threat on the face of the planet and god help us if the wrong people get into power and get to wield it's power... it's better to fight dumb wars win or lose than to advance technology that will be a struggle to fight against in the future... it drove the nuclear arms race and thankfully that ended quietly and peacefully despite some of the close calls... how many more Ukrainian lives is a line drawn on a map worth? this is bigger than your thick skulls and your pride and you've already driven a large portion of women and children from your country and you send thousands more to be slaughtered by the day... how long do you think it's going to take for your country to recover? you've essentially shot yourselves in the foot as the only way you'll be able to grow your country after this war will be to hire migrants and outside labor that is going to wash out your population that you're fighting against the Russian's so hard to keep... it's a lose-lose for you in the long run.
💙💛💙💛💙💛🤘🏽
2:55 “A Russian officer stated that the Russian forces would be able to overload the Ukrainian defenses if they just sent more waves of armored assault.”
Ah yes, the classic Russian strategy of “throw cannon fodder at the enemy until they run out of bullets.” In use for over 100 years at least!
It may have worked for two world wars, but they no longer have the population base to draw from to pull this kind of thing off for long. And worse, looking down the road, you can see a steep population decline and effectively a dying off of the country. Putin is killing off Russia itself, rather than admitting that he's in over his head.

I support RFU on Patreon! Your work is crucial to fight Russian lies and propaganda, that is why they attack over and over. UA-cam needs to figure out how to defend their channels against these kinds of attacks. This is ultimately a problem they created with faulty methods of flagging. based on the kook idea that people on the internet are honest with no bad actors.
This may be closer to the truth than Russian sites, but even as a Ukrainian supporter I recognise this channel as propaganda. Its far too peppy for the Ukrainians and gung-ho in reporting the Russians to be hopeless to be completely truthful. At best, it's a rosy version of the truth - if the tone of this site was true, the Russians would have lost the war long ago. Nonetheless, the site should not have issues with youtube as all sites like youtube have a certain element of propaganda in them.

Guns on drones had to happen. Controlling recoil, improving accuracy is next. At Universal Pictures in Florida, about 20 years ago, I saw a Terminator themed skit that featured drones with guns.
I've noticed that multiple grenade launchers don't have as much recoil as machine guns.
Lol, Russians did it already 10 years ago.😉

@@continental_drift This, and there are also recoilless submachine guns, like Uzi, Carl Gustav, and others.
@@continental_drift Probably more weight than a belt of bullets and a barrel.
@@traumflugDon't they have to have some form of recoil when you're in the air? Conservation of momentum, if the bullet goes this way, equal momentum goes the other way. If you let the air escape backwards the bullet wouldn't shoot as fast, so that momentum has to be going into the gun, which would go into the drone, which would send it backwards. On the ground friction helps a lot but in the air it's all physics.
Great tactical analysis, thanks.
Recoil issues can be harnessed as a scattershot feature, rather than being regarded as a bug - bit like a perpetual cluster munition \m/

Wow... Machine gun drones. That's terrifying.
It wont work well.
The recoil from the gun will constantly destabilize the platform.
aka the gun will shoot wildly.
@@HollyQUin-iu4kk Well, recoil has a predictable direction. All one has to do is to make the flight controller aware of it and chances are good it can mostly compensate it.
@@traumflug Be realistic. An AR drone isn't going to have the range or capacity for serious use. It'll have maybe a 30 round mag and 25 minutes of flight time. But unlike a grenade drone the AR drone will have to come pretty close to the target to be effective. Unlike the grenade drone which has the advantage of higher altitude. Meaning the enemy will have plenty of time to shoot it down as it's big and bulky.
The US doesn't put guns on military drones because it's not worth risking the drone. Ukraine is better off sticking with grenade drones.
@@HollyQUin-iu4kkUhhh... did you watch the video? They're not AK or AR drones. They're huge octocopters with belt-fed machine guns. One of the big points made was various Ukrainian experiments being made to deal with the recoil.
