I agree with everything you said. I’ve given up everything such as instagram, facebook, TikTok I’ve never had! It feels much more worthwhile living in the real world without pressure of a false reality
My focus now is on how my life *feels* instead of how it looks (on social media) As long as I'm in a good disposition in life, I'm good and there's no need to show 'proofs' online. And I always try to live by this, "If it cost me my peace, it cost too much". Much love Haley~
I deleted these apps 6 years ago at the beginning of my 20s. Followed by my partner doing the same. We are forever grateful we did this as found ourselves miserable stuck in the world of "likes" and scrolling ❤ great video
Thank you Haley! Your two previous videos about deleting social media are what helped me delete all of my social media. Instagram was affecting my mental health severely. I’m 4 months free! I love your inspiring videos♥️ Sending gratitude from a fellow Canadian 🇨🇦
Hi Sarah - I'm so glad my videos resonated with you. Congrats on being free for 4 months! That's a big achievement, I hope you're enjoying life 🥰 lots of love.
Social media and basically the curse of busyness/hurry is what I feel is holding me back from having a fully intimate relationship with God. That and dedicating too much time to my hobbies/interests which ties into the whole busyness thing.
Hi Adam, thank you for sharing your thoughts. If you don't mind me asking, what are some of your hobbies? Perhaps they can be used as a way to connect with God - through service to others or charity. I believe that we've each been blessed with unique gifts and are meant to use them for good ☺️
@@HaleyVillena hey Haley! Things I love doing are playing ice hockey, learning languages and ethical hacking (which is tied to my career). I feel like I put more effort into to making time for those things and not for reading my Bible and having quiet with the Lord. I have gotten a bit better but still, devoting time with the Lord doesn’t seem to be a priority
I tried Tiktok for a week wow I just can't believe the negative impact it has on the brain, distraction of time and what is on there. I am shutting down most of social media-FB and TikTok, and possibly IG. I do enjoy UA-cam though.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for sharing - it’s interesting to hear your experience as someone who just joined the app. Scary how addictive that content can be. Best wishes on your journey ☺️
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience. Isn't it amazing how much time we gain back, as well as clarity when we don't fall into the trap of these mind-numbing apps?
Hi, Haley. A follow up from your original video. I am 2 weeks out of Instagram, I* deactivated my account and deleted the app. It's been a more calming time and I feel that now I am not feeling that "need" to open the app every single time I grab my phone, as much. For me, I'm keeping UA-cam and Facebook. The latter, only because I am pretty active in a group of fellow musicians where I share my cover videos with other people and tips for recording music 😃
Hi Luis! I’m so happy you’re feeling the positive benefits of being off of IG. I feel like if a platform is genuinely allowing you to connect with like-minded individuals in an impactful way, then a balance can be found. It’s great that you have a group on FB! Best of luck with staying off IG.
I spend too much time using YT and having it play in the background when I’m doing tasks in the house. I’m still debating if whether I will continue using IG since I had a family member who I don’t really speak to give out my social media links without my permission. I then saw this person randomly following me and my baby private pages. I was very upset and messaged them and family member but they ignored me. Using less of social media also means protecting your personal life from people who don’t have your best interest at heart.
Hi Christine, thanks for being open about your experience with social media. I agree privacy is definitely a big thing to think about when it comes to our presence online 🙌🏽
Same. I still have my socials, just not on my phone. They’re on my iPad that only works on WiFi. My outlook on life and my daily moods have gotten so much better. I’m no longer stuck in a cycle of scrolling my life away. My days are filled with productive activities with my friends and family.
Hi Chloe - thanks for sharing your experience. I'm so happy you've found yourself to be more productive and social with your loved ones. All the best to you!
yeah u just influenced me to delete socials i dont want my current behavior to be my normal anymore, i swear being on tiktok is just continually seeing other people who have more than you and it is damaginggg
I just deleted my Facebook, messenger and instagram. I hope that I won’t used them anymore in the future. I keep scrolling through only. I just have WhatsApp with me now. I am thinking to find more useful things to do in my life after deleting them, maybe reading more, go for walk and listen to music.
I've been on and off social media for the past 2 years. I take a few months off and then I go back onto it and then I delete the app off my phone again and a cycle continues. But here's the thing. I truly just want to fully delete my profiles on everything. I'm just nervous to do it, I don't know what to do. I feel like if I'm nervous to do it. There's something in me that's insecure about losing the followers and or the connections. But That's a feeling I need to work through because it all doesn't matter in the end of the day. I don't post anymore and I don't scroll anymore. I think I just need to fully delete the profiles and never look back. UA-cam is where I consume most of my content, but the thing is I don't want to consume the short content. I want to consume the creative and inspiring content. Does anyone have any tips about not scrolling UA-cam shorts? I also use social media for my job but the thing is is I can just open the links of each of our profiles and that's all I need to do. I don't need to do anything else on social media. Thank you for the amazing advice on this video. I think I'm going to delete all my profiles. ❤❤❤
I think I see a lot fewer shorts when I click the "subscription" tab at the bottom of the screen instead of being on the homepage or whatever. I didn't know about it until I heard someone else mention it! So even if I am watching shorts, they are by accounts I'm subscribed to that I know have good longer videos, so I don't mind as much. Sorry if you already know and do that. I'm not sure if there's a way to make that the default page. I'm always having to remind myself to hit the subscription tab, usually it's when I'm tired of the homepage recommendations. And there are a lot fewer videos on my subscription tab. But it is still difficult to keep from clicking some of the shorts on the homepage. 😅🤷♀️ Good luck with your journey, though! Excited for you!
Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience, I think what you’re going through is common. And having apps like this be such a large part of our lives does make it difficult to let them go easily. As for YT shorts, I don’t have any “hacks” of my own - but I do agree with @TheClutterLady in that staying on the subscriptions tab can help limit what you see. Best of luck with your journey 💕

@@HaleyVillena she didn't tell its addictive, you are making things up. She said that it's a distraction and leaves negative impact on brain.
I just deleted TikTok and it has allowed me to create more content for UA-cam. I was consuming more than creating and I didn't like that.
