    Just fitted one of these to my F25
    Any changes to MPG, as mine seems well, well down (under 40 most of the time)

    A word of warning from experience, I bought the same filter for my f10 and within less than 10000 miles I had started to get maf sensor problems, up on inspection the foam filter was disintegrating and been sucked into the engine. So would recommend checking it often.

      Hopefully mine was just a one off and yours will be good. I exchanged mine for a new one but lost confidence in it and put a paper one back in! Great channel btw.

    Hi mate. I have as well a bmw 3.0 that used to be a metropolitan police car. I have a question for you: when you changed the interior of the car did the electric heated seats worked?

    • @Nut_Job.
      @Nut_Job.  2 роки тому

      No, unfortunately not. But you could get them to work possibly if get them coded-in by someone, or if you’re brave enough to try it with something like BimmerCode. It’ll be an advanced coding though, so I wouldn’t mess with the coding unless you know what you’re doing.

    I don’t really no much about performance air filters or longer life serviceable air filters I wonder if the performance will be much better or acceleration response will be better

    Give it a few 100miles for the ECU to calibrate eth extra air and you might notice it being a bit more responsive and a bit better mpg, people think that the difference happen straight away and they just don't :/

    • @lieberfreialsgleich

      InsideByte don‘t dream! You cannot feel 1/3% more power. And it has nothing to do with the response, that‘s only software.

    Mate what’s the advantage of this particular air filter thanks 🙏 another great video but really don’t know what value will it add to have one of these installed in your car

    • @Nut_Job.
      @Nut_Job.  3 роки тому +2

      It’s a washable filter & lasts longer (in theory), and it is also supposed to be less restrictive to airflow... probably all BS, but it was pretty much same price as std...

      I half-heartedly bought the cable & tried an install of ISTA+ but it didn’t go smoothly so I parked it... I’ve always managed just fine with my generic Autel diagnostic tool to read & clear codes. Obviously ISTA is better, but I’d managed without so far 👍

    • @Nut_Job.
      @Nut_Job.  4 роки тому +1

      I feel you’re often paying a bit more for the K&N name, and I like the idea of an oiled sponge filter... reminds me of the air filter in my Dyson vacuum 😁

      I think Pipercross are a bit cheaper. Never tried one before, so that was another reason - curiosity. The Range Rover has a K&N filter and it’s pretty good too 👍

    Word of warning with oiling the filter, don’t over do it, it can gunk up the MAF and make the car run like a bag spanners.

    hello nut job, do you have a solution for a cold start on the f10 3.0d, it works restlessly for about 30 seconds and shuts off if I don't hold the gas, only when it's cold

    • @Nut_Job.
      @Nut_Job.  Рік тому

      Have you scanned the car with a diagnostic code reader? There might be something useful to learn if you do a scan (ie. Glow plugs etc)

    • @markovukcevic6595
      @markovukcevic6595 Рік тому

      @@Nut_Job. it doesn't report any error, it only has that problem when the engine is first started, otherwise it works without problems, it was the same on the e60 m57, restless operation for the first few seconds but it didn't turn off, and this one turns off, cold start as well

    • @markovukcevic6595
      @markovukcevic6595 Рік тому

      so for everyone who has a similar problem, it is enough to pour diesel additive, repeat the process if necessary, at least it helped me, the car works, calm on a cold start, no vibrations and that's it
