    I am not a builder, and do not understand some of the sustainable ways which are used… In my family , with allergy issues, I would be concerned about moisture, mold, and especially straw and wet clay , etc. Have you considered these issues?

      Living In The Country Is Much Different Than Living In The City. For 90% Of The Population, You Adapt Or... Well You Don't Have The Luxury Of Complaining In The Country. I Would Do The Same In Their Shoes & Get Over My "Issues"

      @@StarfireReborn If your “issues” are life threatening, then you would not make fun of this comment. It is not a luxury… it is about being able to live…

    Martina...I'm wondering about wool for insulation? I know it's an organic way to keep your home warm, I wonder if you could find a resource near your villa? Someone who is raising sheep to keep down their weeds, or for meat, sheep that don't have a good quality of wool for spinning can be used in that way. Have you considered wool? Just curious & wanted to pass the idea along, just in . you might not have thought of or heard of it. I know the US has started using wool for that purpose. This might be a good idea, if you could get it for free. I LOVE the door, it's absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the update, it's so exciting to watch you guys as you go along.

    Would you please do a renovation episode that answers some basic questions? 1. When you stay at the property where do you go to the bathroom? 2. Are you still going to try the hempcrete for insulation? (I hope so, i am very interested to learn how to do that) 3. Are you going to install a septic tank/field somewhere on your property? 4. What are your plans for your solar panels? Are you not allowed to install them yet or is it just a financial reason? 5. When you do install your solar panels what will you do for electricity on the days when there is not enough sun shine to charge your batteries? 6. What will you do for an internet connection when you move to your property? 7. What happens if your well can not or is not successfully drilled. 8) No eight question, just wanted to wish you much success with your off grid renovation!

    I still don't quite get the layout of the house, the kitchen next to the bedroom sounds like you would have to keep the door closed everytime you cook so you don't get smells and grease from the kitchen into your bedroom; but I'm sure you've analysed everything and there's a reason behind every decision. It will look beautiful!

    • @wegrowild
      @wegrowild  8 місяців тому +2

      You're right, I haven't really shown how the layout is. I will definitely show it in the next video🌼For now we're creating a smaller space where we'll move temporarily so we can actually heat up a small space. The "kitchen" will temporarily be in this small space but it will just be a table/furniture and the red woodburning stove (so not really a proper kitchen)🤎then, as we build the rest of the walls, we'll have a proper kitchen far from the bedroom 🙏🏼

    You should do a Q & A about your adventure. I’d love to hear more about the history of the house. How old is it, did someone else gut it? All the walls and ceilings look like some sort of tiles.

    Your house is really coming along beautifully (I call your logs the 'pencil pile' because to me they look like giant pencils😂)! And I envy that woodchipper, what model is it?

    Hi Lovelies, straw/clay walls, how cool! You will love them Martina! That’s what we did in our house but we were filling the wooden structure with straw first and the applying a mixture of straw and clay a bit of sand on it it several layers, was fun. Straw was from our neighbor and the clay just from our house, what we did dig out, it’s so precious to work with these natural material, you can do everything by hand and the finishing is fun, you have so many options! Good luck to you both and have fun

    Gah! Watching them move those bales of hay had my heart in my throat. A good friend was moving one by himself one evening as he had done many, many times before. He lost his footing on the dew on the ground and the bale crushed him. Please tell Micah to be very careful. Love watching your journey in between knitting episodes. The house is going to be infused with your energy and will truly be your “home.”

      There’s a girl i watch on TT who was crushed between a bale and piece of machinery, and is now documenting her journey of having her face torn off from the impact. It seems so dangerous 😢
