A Day Tour in Pacific Heights, San Francisco

- Pacific Heights is one of the most desirable locations in San Francisco. Whether you plan to visit San Francisco for a day or to live here long term, there is a lot to see in a matter of blocks. The hills in San Francisco create amazing views in all directions and I’ll walk you through to get a feel for the neighborhood.
I do briefly visit Fillmore street which extends beyond Pacific Heights but you can get a sense for some of the local shops and restaurants you may find here. I’ll be adding more neighborhood tours and will have to do a separate video to dive deeper into Pac Heights.

I have lived in SF 45 years and have lived in many neighborhoods here. In the 90’s I was a volunteer City Guide and my beat was Pacific Heights. I learned the history of the area and loved sharing it with visitors. 2 years ago I moved to the neighborhood, one block from Alta Plaza. While it lacks the ethnic diversity I’m used to, there are so many things I love about it. That’s San Francisco, every neighborhood is unique.

Thank you for this tour! I spent 2 wonderful years in San Francisco and it remains one of my favorite cities. I spent most of the time exploring the city on foot and playing tennis on Margaret S. Hayward Playground. Out team is the best! I miss you, guys!

The most beautiful neighborhood in SF!
I've walked every street in every neighborhood in San Francisco and have learned a lot in the process. What I learned about Pacific Heights is that its rich, entitled and paranoid residents universally asked me the same question: Can I help you? The interpretation was clear: What are you doing here?
Hey Cliff, Sorry to hear that. It's a huge neighborhood and there are certainly some parts that are much quieter and I've even felt out of place as a local. It's interesting how many people have hired private security and patrol consistently through the neighborhood. I don't think that happens in any other neighborhood here.

It’s so rare to have one of the units come available as a Coop, but I did tour one of the mid building units 5-6 years back and the ground floor unit is for sale right now. I did tour it 4 months ago, let me see what video I have if it. Great suggestion though Sulevi!!
May I ask where are the grocery stores close by in the area?
I missed this one, There are a few surrounding the neighborhood. Mollie Stone's, Whole Foods, Bryan's are all larger ones nearby. There are also neighborhood markets like large corner stores throughout the neighborhood like Luke's Local, Mayflower Market, Cal-Mart, etc
