It's wasn't supposed to be a serious video. We were literally just trying a bunch of stuff to see if it would start without digging into it too deeply. In the next couple of videos, we did work on it semi properly. It did end up running and is now fully rebuilt and running great. I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of it. 😁
it's an immaculate FZR. I have the very same bike in UK. owned for 14 years. black like your bike. how ever you need to get the right front fender or mud guard as we call it in the UK. and the exhaust is off a much later FZR. how as said mint condition bike 👍.
It's far from immaculate. But thanks. The exhaust is actually off a 94 YZF600. I had to modify the bracket slightly to fit it. We have pretty strict road worthy rules where I am. The FZR came with a Laser performance exhaust on it, and that is too loud to pass road worthy. That's why I have the YZF600 muffler on it. I already had it, and I didn't want to try source a genuine FZR one.
It was so satisfying when it actually fired up. We figured out the reason why it didn't run too well. Make sure to check out the next video and find out.
I'm pretty sure I've said multiple times that we are not professionals, and these videos are for entertainment purposes only. Also, the bikes we make videos with are personal vehicles. All of the shop bikes do get worked on by actual mechanics. Maybe you should worry about your spelling and sentence structure before being a keyboard warrior. Appreciate the comment. Have a great day. 🙂
I just acquired my dead dads old Vance and hines 1992 fzr600 3 days ago hasn’t been started in 17 years for the most part the bike needs a lot of work should I do a restoration video
Absolutely first and foremost the sentiment , it was your dad's plus they are great bikes and they were made for more years than any other sport bike produced. Basically unchanged for years with minor brake tweaks and the single head light for 91 and 92. Went back to double when the YZFs came out. Tons of parts available. I have a 92 I'm restoring also with lots of aftermarket goodies. Got it at a impound auction 20 years ago with 25k on the OD.for $125. Someone went crazy with a can of silver spray paint, it's on everything. Cleaned most of the parts and had frame with the bits and pieces powder coated gloss black. Ended up with other bikes to mess with so she sat untill a few months ago when I dug out all the parts after getting a wild hair getting a rolling chassis. Finally reassembly is happening. Probably going to be my track day bike. I live near COTA and want to do some laps there. The bike rips and don't have to put my nicer stuff through the abuse. I have all sorts of brand bikes. I love them all, it's my addiction
@@plap. I found out it’s actually a 93 with double headlights unknown miles because it says 0 you think it would be possible to switch it over to the single trapezoid lights from 92?
@@Jeweltocool They swap out easily but they need the tube bracing that goes along with. That is the only thing specific to each. The rest of the faring parts are the same. Remember the single head light was a two year thing, 91/92, so it is way harder to come by. Most people like the duals better anyway.

The shop was Gabriel's dealership. Just second-hand bike sales. Neither of us are mechanics. The shop never did mechanical work. We just have a bit of fun trying to fix and modify bikes.
How not to recommission a bike, really crappy skills here. Surprised you didn't kill the starter, should have dropped the old fuel first, checked spark at the plugs then started. Basic 101 failure, this video caused me pain to watch, and still you moved it on without checking the jets after she's been parked for how many years... sad 😞
You obviously didn't watch part 2 and 3 where we did clean the jets and changed plugs, fuel, oil, and all the usual stuff. I did this video purely to see if we could start it doing as little as possible. Neither of us have ever claimed to be actual mechanics. In fact we state in almost every video that most of what we do is the first time attempting these things. We leave all our mistakes in the videos so the people watching don't run into the same problems. As for me selling it. At the point of sale, it had a new battery, new oil, new plugs, new coolant, carbs were cleaned as well as the jets, new fuel cap, and the bike started and ran first go every time. So before leaving potentially damaging comments to small youtubers videos, maybe check if there are follow up videos that go more in depth and explain what's actually going on. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Every comment helps.

All future content will come with a disclaimer at the start of every video stating that these videos are for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. Just so all you butt hurt people out there can't complain that we are ruining our OWN bikes. Make sure to subscribe. if it was a kick start you both would have given up and changed the fuel. It is way cheaper than either, not to mention much better for the engine.
What does "95 fuel" do? Octane rating only prevents detonation in high compression engines a engine under heavy load or advance timing 🤣 wth man.
