The sound quality on this NEW version of the BOYA mini shotgun mic is incredible! I Think the audio sounds better than my lav mic! That is very good news, maybe I can finally untether myself?

The profile of this mic is warm and reduces high end hiss, and when using outside in the wind the dead cat or wind muff did an incredible job of removing virtually all wind noise.
Overall very impressed for the very low price.
Highly recommended.

@@mikesunboxing Lav mic for me, inside the sound was far richer, some of the top was missing with the Boya. However the Boya with the dead cat installed was great outside.

Some of my team could do with one of these cos as soon as they move their cake-hole away from the laptop mic during a MS Teams call nothing gets picked up. The sound itself sound great and the build quality looks top notch....the P P P P P P ing didnt sound too bad at all. All this what what they are asking for it looks like a really good bargain ! Thanks for another informative video Mike and Kath, nice shameless plug of your MUB hoodies (which I recommend, I have one) and of course.....you get a muff with the mic.....who can say no to muff ?

The wind muff actually helped whilst outside and that shocked me
the wind muff made a massive difference, i was actually quite surprised how well it did

I actually am very surprised by this microphones quality. I have been recently been looking for a new microphone to buy but the high end mics like rod are very expensive. This little box mic seems better than your rode microphone with im generally surprised by. I'm going to purchase this and see it in action.

The real question is that if this little boom microphone is sounding better than a rode what are there other microphone products like and are they better? I would be interested to see your reviews on their other microphones! I know you did a studio clip shirt microphone review from Boya. I'm interested what there mounted desk microphones sound like.

i'm really not sure. for live work it might be a little low but for recorded footage you could always boost it in post production

I recently bought this mic and I can't seem to get it to work on my camera, I'm using the correct TRS cable for it. Could the cable be a defect? The microphone works well on my phone and laptop.
that could be it. try using a standard pc type audio cable, this happened to my rode micro also

You never addressed how to use the monitor headphone jack... I've had a major problem with that... it's the whole reason I bought it for live web music.
the headphone jack is for being able to playback content and monitoring. without removing the mic jack
@@mikesunboxing Yeah...I saw where you mentioned that in retrospect. It's kind of a bummer that you can't monitor in Realtime. Unless you've found a workaround? I thought I had with an app, but no luck . Any suggestions how I can cheaply monitor my own live music stream?
@@tonymolek Did you find a solution? I also was under the impression that live monitoring was possible. Other unboxing videos suggested Boya said it is possible with certain apps. Tried several but no succes (android smartphone)

why would you not reveiw the most important feature of this microphone which is the headphone output...that is the only reason anybody will buy this cheap mic for the ability to monitor your audio...so why leave that out..... 👎
you are the first person to mention it, so it can't be the most important feature. It might be to you, but not many it seems
