One thing that also gets lost [even by the writers?].
There is a difference between the Quantum realm based theory of time travel....and the time stone.
The Quantum realm obeys the MCU laws of time travel physics.
But the Infinity Stones -do not- obey laws of physics....they *command* them.
The time stone can do all kinds of things with time that the Quantum bridge and Pym particles cannot.

In the Dr. Strange movie, the ancient one stated that the time stone wouldn't let her see past her own death.
I still don't understand how Dr. Strange could see past the time where he died (seeing the Rat turn antmans Van on, and see the time heist ect.). But it would make sense if he was able to see the point where he came back alive (after Hulk's snapped everyone back into existence). So the movie's plot does make sense, but not for the reason the writers say it does.

I dunno, I think both have great writers but was hugely disappointed by both. No doubt GOT failed worse for sure, but Endgame dropped the ball for me too. Time and rushing things was GOT’s problem, and time travel and focusing so much on it instead of showing something new or writing a more creative way to reverse or undo things was Endgame’s demise for me personally. It just seemed so lazy and underwhelming compared to Infinity War especially. The issue with Cap and the timelines is most likely that Winter Soldier was written with the idea that Cap would always be the man that Peggy had married.
However..... when Infinity Saga was told, they decided that the back to the future rules of time travel wouldn’t work, because well...they actually don’t make sense.
So they basically retconned the original concept to the way the directors, the Russo Brothers describe - as alternate timelines.
I think that is why the writers and the directors don’t agree.

There are three glitches in the timeline as I see it. First of all, we have to assume that the timeline we know stays as it is, unchanged. Changing something in the past does not change that "prime" timeline, but instead breaks off a branch timeline. This means there are three branches that could not be closed off, and one presents a paradox.
First, we have Thanos and Nebula. They left their timeline at 2014, but never returned, meaning there's a branch there where NONE of the events after 2014 happened as they did in the prime timeline. That means no snap(s), so Tony would survive that timeline.
Second, we have Loki stealing the space stone (Tesseract). Cap returned it to 1970, but in 2012, Loki steals it and disappears, meaning events after the first Avengers film would unfold differently. Loki would not be in Asgard for Dark World, and so might not be in a position to take over Asgard... meaning he wouldn't be there in Ragnarok. However, he would still have access to the Tesseract if he encountered Thanos again, so Infinity War might still unfold as in the prime timeline.
Third, Cap goes into the past and marries Peggy. This would create a branch where he and Peggy were together... but it should not intersect with the prime timeline, which means he should not be there to give the shield to Falcon. This is the paradox. He can't be in BOTH timelines.

I don't get the A force moment being controversial at all, sure it's not like Captain Marvel needed the help so I thought the suggestion from Nando where it was Nebula and Gamora being the ones who had the Gauntlet and needed a path to be cleared with help from all the women would have been a slightly stronger moment since Nebula really was one of the MVPs of the movie and after killing her younger self her story just kinda stopped, also it would be a reversal of what she did in the comics and then have Carol be the one to almost bring it to the truck. But other than that I felt it was a badass shot while also having an emotional beat with Natasha not being there as well. We got the "trinity" fighting Thanos on their own so why complain about them doing a call out to A Force?

Edit: and I also disagree with the fact that cap himself didn’t create a new timeline by living out his life with Peggy. There is no version of the MCU with one Universe on a single continuous timeline. It does not work - at all. The minute Tony and Bruce explain that when you go into the past that becomes your future, and you have to be anchored in your own time, that idea goes out the window.
Look at it this way. If Captain America goes back in time and returns to the present by aging he has rewritten the past to include his presence.
The minute Thanos and Nebula are killed, and Gamora is replaced by a version of herself from the past the timeline rewrites itself, and Guardians, and every movie following it can't happen, so Sam Wilson can't be waiting for Cap to return from the past without the infinity stones.
This is so obvious within the film's rules that the directors admitted that Cap found his way back to his own universe's present via unknown means.

The "only taking the stones makes an alternate timeline" thing doesn't work. If it did, then the original question about killing Thanos as a baby would work. It has to be the time travel that makes all these because otherwise, Thanos leaving in the past and never coming back would change history. Alternate timelines explains most of the movie fine, except for Cap. To reconcile how Cap is still in our own timeline as an old man - I would propose that it works differently when you DON'T return, but ride the timeline all the way back up like he did. That's the one thing that's different. So, when you go back in time, it creates a temporary second split, but as long as you're there it's like pinching two strings together (the universes are entangled) and sliding your fingers up. The moment you leave and return to your time, it's like letting go of the two strings and they separate, at the point you first arrived in the past.

I think the way it works is that, if you take the infinity stones, you create parallel timelines, but if you don't, you're stuck within a stable time loop. No matter how hard you try, you can't change anything that happened in the past that didn't already happen. If they'd have tried to kill baby Thanos, they would have failed, no matter how hard they tried, because the past is always set in stone unless you start messing with the infinity stones.

Endgame specifically says that time is not a loop so how could cap always being Peggy’s husband doesn’t make sense other wise why would he have created an alternate time line. Plus if you watch the Peggy Carter interview it’s clear at that point that Steve had not come back. So that theory doesn’t really hold up.

blackknightkanos yes but they already said time is not a loop so it’s just not possible. Steve going back do be with Peggy is the first time that’s ever happened so the Peggy we see in our timeline is not married to Steve. Plus I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have got as emotional in the meeting seeing as how nobody even knew they had a relationship it’s clearly not what the writers had in mind.

I thought the women Avengers gang thing, on a story level, made me go "huh, why is the movie pausing to set this up?", because it felt shoe-horned in. It probably would've felt more convincing if they had spent a couple of more minutes setting it up, to where they all happened to end up in the same place. I just wrote it off, but at the same time I was thinking, actually how often would we get another opportunity for everyone to be in the same place like that? How many other blockbuster franchises can claim to have that many prominent fan-favorite female heroes?
So ultimately, I would have to say eh what the heck, let 'em have some fun playing with that angle, because the reality is the ratio of male to female heroes is unfortunately still about 5 to 1, or 10 to 1.
Although I think it would have been also cool if they gathered up all the bug-themed heroes, too. lol

It didn't bother me personally but I see why people feel the way they do.

Guys, I love you, you helped give us one of the best movies of all time, but that girl power scene was such a forced pandering one, you just did to do it, and you basically admit to it within a few minutes of showing it. All the women randomly show up to help Cpt Marvel, leaving their counterparts who are in serious danger to assist this random woman most of them don’t know, who just entered the earth from another planet, blew up Thanos’ ship and seems to have taken zero damage. They group up, and in the very next shot we see Cpt Marvel in, she’s all alone, plowing through the Outriders with no effort whatsoever, and even ends up facing Thanos himself. All. Alone. None of the others are anywhere in sight. So in the context of the scene, they all happened to be in the same area, abandoned the ones they care about, and seconds later, Carol simply dashed through them, leaving them in the dust, and they just said “eh, cool, let’s keep on fighting”. Let’s not pretend it was something else other than pandering and ticking a checklist.

The girl gets a portion of his super strength and tries to follow in Steve's footsteps, working for S.H.I.E.L.D then dawning the role as Captain America. The boy doesn't have super strength but is smart and strategic like his mom so he gets in with the Stark's as a new/alternate universe Iron Man. He could get in with Howard and have Tony grow up with this 1970's Iron Man and Female Captain America to look up to but also resent them for being his fathers greatest creations in the same way Captain America was to Howard in the main MCU timeline. Then what if alternate Iron Man gets taken in and brainwashed by Hydra agents in S.H.I.E.L.D the same way they did to Bucky. He start working as a sleeper cell for Hydra and his sister Captain America has to stop him, similar to the events in Winter Soldier/Civil War.
