Glad to see that I am not the only one who does this. I posted a video on my channel cleaning the DPF on my Branson tractor with water and Simple Green and the keyboard warriors attacked. This method works great and I can go a long time between cleanings rather than regenerating all the time. I am going to check out more videos on your channel. 👍
I've got to do mine again soon! light came back on! when I'm off the tractor been running rpms at 2500 to burn scute out! but its still going to clog again soon!~ Thanks for comment!
I just spent about four hours washing mine out on my 18 wheeler I'm saved about $2,500 for the dealership to do it letting it dry out now and it's taking a while I keep turning it over I think I finally got it all out
These tractors do not use a computer to control emissions. Straight pipe it, or find yourself an overseas based Branson dealer, the equivalent tractor size, and order the non-us muffler/exhaust combo that bolts right up. Then ya won't have to do it again lol. These tractors literally use 2 sensors (pre and post DPF) to monitor for DPF regen. if they both flow the same (like straight piped), you never get the error. Hope this helps!
Thats what I'll do in future! We owned an exhaust/Muffler shop back in the good ole days when everyone dueled there trucks out with 12-inch Glass packs and chrome echo tips!! Then the Catalytic convertor age came! Most the country folks customers of mine could not afford a convertor or sometimes they were sent to me for diagnosis! so I gutted many for close customers and in some cases saved them thousands of dollars! and I wouldn't install a brand new convertor on a vehicle until the run ability problem was repaired because a convertor don't go bad unless the air/fuel mix is incorrect! I learned quick in the business, if I popped on a new convertor and 2 days later there back with a burned up part!!!! I would lose customers that way! I told them upfront!!Get the check engine light fixed before the Convertor is replaced! And Sir, your correct and great info on the tractor DPF filter above, thanks for the advice! And for my Branson tractor DPF filter, it will get gutted one day soon! Thanks for commenting on the video! We love all our viewers and would love to have you as a subscriber for Future videos!
I drive a 2016 Kenworth T880 that NEVER regens... I've had 2 check-engine lights and LEVEL 1 ENGINE DERATE messages on my dash for better than 6 years... My newest message is now SOOT LEVEL HIGH. REGEN DPF. But no matter what I try, that manual switch on the dash will not initiate a REGEN, and it will not REGEN on it's own... My bosses (the owners of the truck) will not have it fixed, or even acknowledge these symptoms that I tell them about 'til I'm blue in the face... I guess it'll just burn itself to the ground... Hope I can get out in time...
Yeah because a tow bill will cost them more in the long run! Have you tried running it at a high idle for 30 minutes or so? Try to burn it out? If not see if there Tech will take it off and flush it out! Be safe!
We believe ours was possibly clogged or the sensor was bad, we are fighting the dealer now since our machine has been bogging down on our CAT 289D3 since November of 2023 and 2 days ago it caught fire. The dealership told us they wouldn’t check it since we had low hours. Now our skid steer is fried in the engine compartment.
Hope you can get it resolved! Our tractor says to run it at 2500 rpm, that’s way to much since we use it for putting hay out our moving stuff around with it. It does clog up about every 300 hours. Keep saying going to delete it but never do. It’s expensive of a part to just cut off and throw in scrap pile. So I just use this technique with a power washer on it and keep on trucking! Hope you can get yours repaired and when it starts messing up pop it off and clean it out.. thanks for sharing!
I was told never to use water to clen them, it will ruin the filter. You're supposed to take it to a place where they put them on an over and them blow and clean the residue.
Sorry to hear! We bought ours from a gentleman that had little dealership going into Dallas, he was good to us when we had DPF clogg first time they put a new one on it under warranty and told us if it happened again to gut it! We also had to have power steering rack replaced under warranty because chrome chip off and started leaking fluid! We have about 900 hours and DPF is clogging again so I’ll probably gut it this time and hope for the best since tractors out of warranty!! The Cummings engine is a work horse though! Thanks for watching and hope you have better luck with your tractor! 👊

I saw a video where the adhesive between honeycomb was damaged with high pressure cleaning, and dpf was scrapped....
Thanks for sharing I bet youre not the only one having that problem right now
You bet! Thank you! We love all our viewers and would love to have you as a subscriber for Future videos!
Thanks for the video!
Thanks! Mine is shutting itself down right now and the replacement filter I was quoted is $3000. I will be disassembling first thing in the morning!

@@FOSTERSFARMGARAGETV i just drilled all the guts out of it and put it back on and it works fine

Ohh my I had same problem cleaning out worked fine ...
Save that money! Lol
I suppose this works for all DPF / DOC (CCRT) units? Mine is on a 2016 LS XR4145C tractor with 407 hours on the meter.

What triggers the tractor to display the regen lights? Is it a time duration or is there a sensor that reads too much back pressure?
Thanks m8...
How many hrs on TYM tractor? That was really clogged, wouldn't a shotgun work better........
I have 800 hours now and it needs done again soon! Run engine at higher Rpms will prolong a clean out!
I wonder if ya soaked it oven cleaner then washed if that would work too
Your exhaust must have been via crankcase
Your cleaning it from the back and just pushing the soot back into the exhaust pre dpf 😂 will clog up again in 10 minutes
Been 3 years now. JS
what is the psi on your pressure washer?
i think it is 1500 or 1800 psi Small Honda then my big one is 3000 psi i used the small one
Use gasoline after all its carbon soot only
20 Dollar Car wash Dawn Soap 😊
The irony
Not lost on me.
"But then where does it go?" "Not the environment"
Those red tractors and most of their dealers are POS's
Sure wish i hadn't bought one in 2019

Buy an older tractor that don't have that shit
