Realistic Miniature Shack Built From Plastic!

  • My friends, every time I make one of these miniature old buildings, I feel like a kid again! And each time I learn some new, awesome technique. So how about we look at some faded wood with remnants of old, chipped paint, while everything is scratch-built from plastic? And let's not forget those cool hollow bricks with spilled mortar, which are also technically made from plastic!

You said that you could see how some people might not value these facades, but honestly this feels like some of your best work. It's such a small slice of life but the level of contrast and exuberance you bring to these pieces is incredible.

What I’m liking most about them is the history you can see in them. There’s the original building, the modifications and repairs, and then the weathering, plus the debris suggests a larger environment that the facade is part of.
A model should tell a story. A full blown diorama or even a vignette can tell about a whole war or just a moment in that war while implying what came before and what might happen immediately after. These facades speak of decades.

As a model railroader, these are some of favorite videos of yours. I learn so many things that I can translate over. Not that armor isn’t entertaining and helpful, I love watching those videos, but please keep doing the diorama/structure builds.👍

In addition to checking out the amazing facades that Emmanuel creates , viewers should see what Swiss modeller Marcel Ackle and American modeller Chuck Doane produce . These truly are works of art. For me Chuck is the true master.
However, I love what Uncle has created here with lots of ideas and techniques to be filed away for future use.

I love any model, facade, or diorama you do so don't think your subs aren't interested in stuff like this because we are. I'd actually say most of us watch because of your incredible attention to detail and creativity in how you approach things like that. I'd love to see you try to tackle an airplane model at some point. Since you do such a fantastic job of weathering your models, it would be cool to see that on a plane like a B-17 like it was battle damaged after a mission or something.
