- My friends, it's again one of those nice moments when you're left with a few parts from a previous project, and it's just enough to create another small yet exciting diorama. This time featuring a blown-off turret sitting in a forest, submerged in water!

Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with a handful of modelling brands and stores, namely VMS, Michigan Toy Soldier Company, and AK-Interactive. As such, I'm happy to use their products/services, and show them in my work. In return, they support my efforts in this hobby, although my hands are not bound nor am I obligated to push one brand or the other. Being independent from exclusive sponsorship deals, and instead showing you a variety of paints, techniques, and mediums was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

I have binge watched all your other material, so am always excited when I see something new ... Never disappointed - keep up the good work.
“Once everything was ROCK HARD in the morning” I bet everything was. I found that so funny, but take it wrong it just made me laugh. I really love your work and the content you make. Your voiceovers are one of my favorite parts next to your beautiful models.
Yeah, it caught me a bit off guard lol
Perfect model i love your models a your perfect modeling and ideas you have my respect
im going to make my first diorama for a 1/72 scale model ,and im going to use your videos as some type of tutorial , love your work
Looks good. Have a good vacation.
Time to make a vignette. I have lots of leftover parts. Love what you did with the tree!
love it, love it, love it! a lil' thing that I would add, is a bit of organic debris and dust accumulated in the creases of the turret, and maybe rain stains, somethong like that. cheers to that beautiful work!
Outstanding and it was enjoyable as usual.
Great vignette 👏
that is really good please make more from this
Good day to you Mr. Night Shift.
Enjoy your vacation.
Excellent work as always!!!
Good work! So much detail) Thank you for video!
Yes! Another video!
When you mix your resin pour it into another mixing pot and mix again, this will ensure you get a more even mix. I learnt the hard way as well... 🤣
Because of Night Shift I have officially sold my first commissioned model of Gaspatch's 1:48 Salmson 2A2 Mid Type! THANK YOU NIGHT SHIFT FOR GETTING ME INTO THE HOBBY!
Congratulations on your first commission build, it must feel really good, best regards from Australia, 👍👍👍👍
That is so cool, congratulations!
Just as I was on a binging spree of your old videos, Nightshift returns in glorious fashion.
Excellent Diorama. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it here but if you put a couple of drops of dish soap in your bottle of diluted PVA it should break the surface tension and soak in, saving you the trouble of using IPA. That's what I've always done and it works for me. Keep the videos coming.
Great job!!!!
Amazing as usual!
congrats on the vacation!
Splendid, simple and artistic...I love your work!
I love your work! It has gotten me back into the hobby and just finished my first diorama in 15 years! Thank you
After having a rough bad day this made it sooo much better!!!
Fantastic !!
I've made a couple models and night shift really helped on weathering
Amazing work
"My haste and my lack of brain cells that caused such an unpleasant problem."
That's a mood.
In all seriousness, it still came out amazing and you had a great way to overcome the issue. Hope you have a great vacay, NS!
I love your ingenuity when it comes to reusing parts from other models to make something amazing!!!
Excellent talent
Always an Outstanding video and presentation.
You inspired me to continue working on my Gundam. It's been sitting and waiting half done since last summer. Thank you! 💜
Für mich ist es Kunst was Du machst. ❤ Ich habe soviel gelernt durch deine Videos und bin Dir sehr dankbar. 😘🍺👍
As a student of Verlinden , you have far out shown the master ,
And yes , two part epoxy is a mess !
My last build required me to cast numerous small parts using silicone molds and epoxy , half of them never cured
right ! Out of frustration I decided to pour 3D print resin into the molds , and leave them out in the sun
Parts where fully cured in 5 minutes , with no air bubbles
Yet another fantastic build. You have some serious talent when it comes to composing vignettes and dioramas.
This i really awesome!
Valentine of the lake🤩
That plant work is fantastic. You've really inspired me to try a forest floor terrain piece with all the different plant products!
Enjoy your vacation :) You thoroughly deserve it!
I’m very interested in model trains and these form of dioramas. I have been consider to do another diorama themed around my childhood favorite show. This will take practice as my first diorama was for a school essay and I made that 6 years ago. After that I haven’t tried anything else besides a temporary outside layout. So I think it would a fun thing to do this summer.
If the figures are both 1/35 scale but there is a little size difference, that shouldn't be a problem; military units are not sorted by height and width. One of the units I was in, the shortest guy was 5'5" and the tallest was a whopping 6'8". He had a LOT of trouble in our M2 BFV. So a little height difference can only add to the realism. But that's just my opinion. Beautiful build, but I've been watching you for years and I don't ever remember seeing you do a bad one. Cheers, and enjoy your vacation!
The beauty of your creations lies not only in your technical skills, but in the balance and artistry of the compositions. Thanks much for your work.
I agree his artistic and stylistic approach is what breathes life into the work.
Amazing! Small vignettes are the best.
You should make a Canadian Sherman firefly. Also love you videos❤
My friend, one thing that always help me. When I got to the liquid resin was this. After about 4 to 6 minutes of mixing. Then I always added the color to make it cloudy. I never add the color in the beginning. Every single time I did it messed it up. So now I just mix the hardener and the resin together first. Be careful with color my friend. You can always put more color in but you can never take out too much color. I hope that helped you with the clear resin. I also buy my clear risen from a hardware store. It seems to work better the other type. We buy for models and diagrams..
Size difference with the figures is fine and adds more realism, people are different sizes..!
Add some flotsam & jetsam around the part of the turret in the water to make it look like the stuff washed up and gathered around those parts. Maybe some water staining effects...unless the explosion happened fairly recently - in that case, never mind! :)
2:20 man got quick scoped 😂😂
Always love seeing a new Night Shift video. Keep it up.❤
Btw this was day 91 of trying to get noticed by Night Shift mission complete
Cant wait for the next armor model, perhaps an Italian tank next time?
The stained wood bordering looks much better than the flat black you normally go for.
Aaaahhhmaaazing!
You sir, are an artist! There are many people on this platform that make excellent models, but you take it to the next level with your scenery. You need to start selling your back garden in small plastic bags! ;)
This reminds of those "Panzer of the lake" memes from a while back😀
Your dog has the same ponytail as you!
Your airbrush skills are insane. Very nice.
Now You need to make a matching vignette where the hull without the turret sits in the woods and if You don't want to do the inside of the tank then put a fallen tree on it or make the tank overgrown with plants.
Cool idea 💡
@@thatotherguy7596 thanks
@@kszaczuch 👍
Hi Martin
Fantastic piece of work mate
Thanks for sharing your video tutorial ❤😊
Another gorgeous project, my friend!
always great to see a new night shift video!
also, using extra parts from an old model is an amazing use of the old stuff that you might not have used otherwise
I love your mini dioramas. Well done!
Anymore dioramas and your backyard will be down to bedrock. Awesome build, love these vignette vids (probably a little more than your full dioramas, weird huh?) and the potent concise story the viewer can glean from them (the UXB vignette is breathtaking). Cheers.
Im building a churchill mk 6 from tamiya at the moment. And there's many figures that make for a great dioroma combination, I think you'd like it
My jaw was on the floor for a full thirty one minutes and forty eight seconds.
I would love to see you paint an astra militarum tank in this style
Wow! The Michaelangelo of tank and tank diorama's. A very enjoyable video to watch the processes going on and seeing where it ends up. As tank turrets can 'lift off due to internal shells going off after a body impact there's no need for any turret impacts. I was wondering which hemisphere this scene was in so I can calculate the water flow and ripple direction and what about the latin names of those ferns? Can't please some people. Glad you are getting away. Know the feeling not being away for a long time. Well deserved holiday ma friend. There's a huge appreciative audience out here so with all the behind the scenes editing, humility, humour and general brilliance you deserve the outcome of being self employed in the best job in the world. 😊 Awesome Mr.Nighshift 😊
Love your work as always it looks freaking amazing. Look forward to seeing whats next, Enjoy your holiday my friend....
I have an idea.
You're really good at weathering. Your groundwork is also absolutely fantastic.
Could do an aircraft crash scene? I'm thinking something like the Bf 109 in the Imperial War Museum.
Oh no, you forgot to put the doggie in this very naturally looking and detailed diorama. 😊
Awesome work, like always. Love your work and enjoy your videos. Viewing your videos since 2019. Very inspiring, easy to understand step by step. Keep the good work, can't wait for the next video!!!!
Awesome job, please consider doing more dark oak sides just like you've done in the other job. It is very nice!!
I’m always pleased to see one of your new productions; very entertaining and informative. You must be a fun guy. Also, how’s the leg?
Even when there's a mistake, Uncle, you still manage to roll with the flow and come up with approachable solutions.
Love the fish detail! Made me smile when you were painting them!
The turret hatches have an intact headliner pad installed. You seem to have mistaken this for steel, and applied chipped paint and rust. Also, there's no evidence of the violent event that resulted in the turret being transported into the water without its tank component. It's possible to get there with the hatch open, if the tank was flooded with water and an HE round/charge went off inside, but that would have been the more interesting part of the diorama missing. Overall, this one looks good though, if I disengage too much of my brain to really enjoy it.
Superbo complimenti
3:30 so you're telling us you spent hours rearranging a figure, a turret and a piece of wood on a styrofoam. That's passion for the hobby if I've ever seen it.
I'm wondering if it was possible to explain how you make your videos so awesome, i mean whith what kind of materials please...thank you so much !!!
Oh, Turret of the Lake, what is thy wisdom?
Its very good to see you again night shift
Yo Uncle Night Shift. Have you tried Magic sculpt for weld seams?
For your next 'palate cleanser' vignette, build The Tonk. After all, you already build The Tank of the Lake'.
😂👍🤦♂️
I suggest you to make academy panzer iv ausf h/j or make tamiya m18 hellcat, both are my fav tank
What I absolutely love in your videos is that models, effects and dioramas/vignettes that were on an impossible level of skill for me are decomposed and explained so well, that it becomes very clear how this and that should be done, and very easy to do. The rest is the matter of 'technical' skills. And my models that were made after I found your channel are a great confirmation of that :)
Your skills are unreal, watched every video and every new one I'm blown away 🙏
Have you ever tried making a diorama with cracked ice? Like a frozen lake/stream or partially frozen puddles is it possible?
Enjoy your Holiday Shift!
Simply outstanding Martin !!! I love how well done vignettes can convey such a poignant story.
Well done as always sir 👍👍
You build an paint dioramas I dreamt of making as a kid,,,great work man 😊🏴
Make something out of leftover parts! Great! 🤩
honestly id love to get stuff from AK, but unless you are from Europe, you have to use Paypal with them as other Cards not from Europe don't seem to work. it's highly annoying. the exact opposite of your work. highly amazing.
Paypal is a good thing! It has a lot of cool features
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
🐺 Loupis Canis .
SOOOO KOOOOOLLLLL !!
Love your projects .
Just amazing .
Great , WOW .
Please do object 490b from Trumpeter
its always a great day when nightshift uploads
By far my favorite project you’ve done was the “cats and dogs” jagdpanther build. I know it was a long time ago now but it really shows the immense amount of detail you put into your builds. I’m not a modeler myself but i watch a lot of modeling channels and so far I haven’t seen anyone use a real life example of the power lines outside of their house for a model. I love your content and I’ve been watching for a while just thought I should comment this to hopefully give your day a boost. 💕
I actually liked the look of the edges with the process, even though it was a mistake in resin mixing. The sloped edges seemed more natural in the scene.
Question. You mentioned stepping back and reviewing your work. Do you ever take a photo of your work to do the same thing?
2:21 I am dying 😂😂😂
Loving the new wooden sides! Really makes it look more professional, so to say, Keep it up man!
hey night shift always loved whatching your content but i wanted to ask you to try a 1/16th scale tiger as i have 1 from hobby boss and it is a realy fun build
Hello dear Night Shift, I want to get started in making dioramas but I'm a total beginner. Could you possibly give me some advice on what to start with and what to buy to begin dioramas? Thank you in advance.
I know it doesn't really fit your style, but I liked when you added the little fish around the tank! It just made it seem more lively.
