Definitely Worth the Effort 👌 I would not have covered the wheels with the white fabric. I would just sit the white fabric and fold it inside instead of over the wheel. It's art that you can use or sell you can sell it. And you're saving the planet one more bottle in the landfill. 🙏👏

Great idea. Most recycled stuff I have seen is practical but ugly...this is really cute. Storage baskets or even small waste bins would work for this. Very clever!

I kept wondering what useful item was going to result from all that time and labor. An unbelievable amount of effort and time to produce something that could be purchased for less than $10. Remember, the video was sped up to who knows what rate. Was it twice as fast? Three times? Faster? I’m sure the person crafting this item was overwhelmed with a feeling of self satisfaction as they looked at the final product. “I made that!”. It’s certainly a project for someone who has an unlimited amount of time and energy!

@@debbieparke5191 ummmmm excuse me !!! You’re judging me and you know absolutely nothing about me ! To enlighten you though, I make part of my living crafting, ALL kinds ! My passion is sewing, I make clothes, gowns, doll clothes, doll house miniature textiles (curtains, rugs, mini quilts, blankets, pillows, wallpaper, etc). Several years ago I patched all the jeans trashed by the tree guys from Asplundt. Climbing trees like monkeys trashed their jeans 👖, several pairs a week. It was a job keeping up with them. It was fun though. I sewed on patches too for the police and conservation officers when they needed it done, but their usual seamstress was not available and they needed the work done ASAP. I’m an avid cross stitcher and embroiderer and pull in some good money doing it. All of my work though I do because I love it and I want people to be happy, so I give it away much of the time ! I love gifting my work. I’d give it all away if I didn’t need money for my diabetes supplies and medications. I also dabble in painting, stained glass, papier-mâché, salt dough ornies and keepsake baby/toddler hands and feet (ornies or framed). I frame ALL my cross stitch and embroidery work. Some I make very rustic frames for with tree limbs or very old barn wood, and often times I haunt thrift shops for vintage frames and redo them a bit to make them an ideal match for the stitched piece. I do all my staining and antiquing myself and I always mat my pieces, and often double mat them (and I cut these myself also). I make minis for dollhouses, houses which I often make from scratch, some from kits !! I also wire all my dollhouses for electricity ! I make food, lamps, silverware, pots and pans, dishes, towels, tables, chairs, anything and everything that a house would need. I make lamps also from vintage Mason jars, paint and decoupage the jars with cut-out sections from the shade fabric, and cover my own shades with fabric and coordinating ribbon or lace for the edges. These sell faster than I can make them !! I had a spot in a craft shop in Ohio and stock ran out all the time ! I dearly love making primitive fabric garlands (for the regular sized rooms mostly, but I’ve made a few tiny ones for the dollhouses. They’re especially tedious, but well worth the effort), and rarely ever make the regular house garlands under 25 feet (I’ll make whatever size the customer requests !). Back in the mid to late seventies I made a 100 foot red/white/blue garland for my own Americana-themed bathroom ! I’d just bought my house and lived across the street from my parents, so I anchored one end of the garland at my house in the upstairs bathroom, then ran it down the stairs, out the front door, across the street and into my mom’s house ! I was braiding this one, not tying hundreds of hand-cut fabric strips onto twine as I usually do, and was using red, white and blue (one strand each color) of thick (“waxy”-looking covered) macramé cord, braiding it just as I do my long hair. I’d never before attempted a project such as this, but I soon realized what a humongous challenge I’d taken on !! Thankfully, we lived on a side street that had very little traffic, so I ran into no problems in that regard. BUT, trying to manage those absolutely HUGE skeins of cord was a monumental task, to say the least. They were extremely hard to handle and were VERY heavy ! Keeping all the strands from getting tangled as I braided was no easy task either. I did bribe one of my five brothers to help me out untangling. He was kind of expensive, but I was desperate. 😂 This project took me 2-3 days, but finally it was done and time to hang it up. I guess maybe a border is a better name for it, not garland. I tacked it all around the bathroom, where walls met ceiling, just as one would do with paper (wallpaper) border, just tacking but no pasting. The wallpaper itself was a heavy, bright, shiny vinyl of red, white and blue kind of a large-sized paisley print with smaller semi-abstract flowers and vines (extremely 70’s hippie-looking). The macramé cords matched perfectly with the vinyl. All very bright and very American 🇺🇸 colors ! I was a tiny twig of a thing back then, weighed 93 pounds, and everyone who saw me making this massive, soon-to-be 100 foot braid, laughed hysterically at me wrestling all this cord. I didn’t care though. I was a mutt on a mission ! I knew exactly what I wanted for that room, and I was going to get it ! It was an extremely ambitious project, but I got it done, and it looked beautiful in my bathroom. I was pushing 30 when I did that, and am 74 now. Would I ever do it again ? Oh yessssss ! 😆
Ok, sorry, got a tad sidetracked there I’d say. 😂
Along with all the above, I also make dolls of all kinds. I’m doing a semi-primitive sunflower-themed doll now for my three year old granddaughter (three different fabrics; a small sized sunflower 🌻 one, a yellow and cream tiny polka dot, and a muted marbled plain goldish-yellow print). Finished a quite prim doll for her several months ago, with a muslin body, cranberry and cream homespun fabric with muslin accents for her clothes, and with added touches of cream-colored vintage crocheted repurposed lace tablecloth on the apron pockets, bonnet, petticoat, etc. Working on her cranberry-colored hair now, made out of yarn. I sew each little piece in by hand. It’s a 3-ply yarn, but I separate it into three separate strands, each about three or so inches long, which makes it very wavy, bordering on curly, then I sew it along the top seam of her head, tie each one, and will put a few tiny prim bows made of the coordinating goldish-yellow fabric in her hair once it’s as full as I want it. She has a bonnet also, so I can’t go too crazy with her hair. I’m also making keepsake cross stitch pieces with words of encouragement on each one of them, for my 18 year old granddaughter, the sister of the three year old, Kennidee. Yeah, quite an age difference, and my daughter is 40. 😂 Kenzie is about to graduate and is becoming worried and a bit scared/apprehensive about going out on her own, into college, and wondering what kind of job or profession she wants to pursue. She’s been in nursing for a couple years now, but is not real sure she wants to continue down that path. I thought she’d gain courage and incentive to pursue her goals/dreams and to never give up, if she had words in her house to see every day; like, believe, faith, listen, learn, courage, care, dream, love, remember, give, blessings, compassion, empathy, family, encourage, laugh, create, live, pray, etc,, and of course, Grandma Loves You ! I’ll stitch some as separate pieces, others I’ll group into two or more clusters in the same piece, others into groups of four to five on the same piece of fabric, etc. I’ll plan it all on 14-count graph paper and make sure the arrangement is pleasing to the eye. I’ll pick several fancy and a few semi-plain/semi-fancy fonts but make sure they’re all coordinating and compliment each other to form cohesion to the finished piece. I’ll probably use the same color Aida for all of them, but pick a few different but yet coordinating colors. I’ve already made her a huge cross stitched piece basically stating how I’ve watched her grow from a baby to a beautiful young woman, that life’s path will not always be easy but that she’ll have God and her grandma to guide her throughout her life. I will be gone physically one day, but I’ll always be with her in spirit. It’s a long tearjerker verse. I did it all mostly in burgundy, very dark green, cream Aida, fancy design vintage frame in black, matted with the same dark green, then used a kind of wide grosgrain deep burgundy ribbon around the sides of the green mat, giving it a double-mat effect. It has loooong strips of fancy wild-type flowers on each side of the wording, which is done in an elaborate font. It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever done. It’s about 24x30, pretty good sized. She cried when I gave it to her for her 16th birthday. I cried the whole way through it while stitching. I always sign and date my work too. I have little antique bronze hearts that say MADE WITH LOVE that I add to my most special pieces of stitching or dolls.
I also work with both my granddaughters and teach them all kinds of crafts, basic sewing skills, cooking, baking, etc. Crafting seems to be a dying art among kids these days. It’s sad. Im teaching Kennidee’s great grandma how to embroider ! She’s 78, only four years younger than me, her grandma. 😂 Rather odd. We share the same birthdate too, 6/16 !
Anyway, as you can see, I take my crafting very seriously ! Unless I’m making a kiddie craft with the three year old, I only make things that send a heartfelt message, keepsakes, words to live by, prayers, etc. I need my time to be well-spent. I’m not into frivolous things, stuff that’s just made for fun then tossed in the bin; again with the exception of crafts done with Kennidee. They’re childish, granted, but they are to be cherished because SHE made them, and her and I had one-on-one quality time together !! I’ll not live to see her grow up as I did Kenzie, so every second counts, no matter what we’re doing ! Crafting takes on a whole new meaning when done with a child !
That’s basically my story, and I’m sticking to it ! Everyone should craft in some way, ANY way. Creating gives new life to the soul ! Hugs, Grandma GG. ♥️

If you cant sow like me then that part where she is sowing the fabric that will be the lining of the basket is going to go really wrong or at least woth me because I cant sow even if my life was on the line. So maybe you could save up leggings that are really stretchy and ise a glue gun to glue the bottom to it after you do the same thing by using a glue gun.
So saving left over fabrics or old clothes curtains or something similar and ise them if they are not leggings and just a flat piece of fabric glue the ends together make a seam.
I bet it would look even better, the open spaces between the yarn she wrapped around the circle part, stick flowers in them fill the sides up as much as you can to fill and have volume but dont pole through the fabric or justvtake the fabric out, then you could take it to the bathroom set it on the back of the toilet lid where the tank is then add toilet paper rolls and when you need a new roll get one out, or you could put washcloths in it. The silk flowers would be a great accent to the basket and serve a purpose. Hope these ideas makes sense anyways! Have a wonderful and blessed day and stay safe out there! ❤️❤️❤️😊
