Kids, don't put plastic directly onto an iron. That's how to ruin the iron. Always put parchment paper (not wax paper) between the iron and anything meltable.
And for the “shrinkie dink” plastic from takeaway containers, they didn’t explain it but you need to make sure they’re made using plastic with #6 on them (you “can” use #5 at a pinch, but #6 is best) 0:07

Inspired by watching your channel's repurposing plastic containers videos, and out of necessity, I made a colander to wash spinach using the plastic container it came in. I used a knife to poke into the container's bottom twisting right, left and in a circle at each poke. I could have used a Dremel craft drill with a small (1/8") bit as well. I then put spinach in a plastic produce bag, poured water in the bag to cover about 1/3 of the spinach, and then gently swirled the water about the leaves to clean any residual dirt. To drain the water from the bag and shake off as much as possible: I snipped holes in the seam area of the bag, the bottom, of the bag. Then, I held the bag up above my shoulder over the sink. After wiping off excess moisture, I poured the bag contents into the DIY colander and shook off remaining moisture.
Hey you'll find that a lot of the produce that you get comes in a square or rectangular sometimes even large multihold clear container and I will take make a salad by tearing off pieces of lettuce or other dark green leafy vegetables baby carrots piece of onion small Tomatoes or large Tomatoes can even fit and anything else you want to add that can use a rinse sometimes I'll spray them with a little bit of soap water solution maybe a touch of bleach and then close the lid and then in the sink place the container and run the faucet over it so it can penetrate all the holes turning the container around and over sometimes depending on the items you might have to have it open and move them under the water to make sure you get all the soap off that usually only takes about 20 to 30 seconds and then you can put it inside your dish drainer turn it maybe once and a couple minutes later it's pretty much drained away the excess water
but i dont really understand how that would work? The opening where you need to insert the balloon is covered by another balloon, how is the air getting through?

Well if you save your plastic containers or at minimum the lids from sour cream and yogurt and similar containers you'll find that those tops fit a wide variety of other containers, cups and glasses. I took it a step further and when you flip them over you'll see these seemingly minuscule raised plastic lines that run perpendicular to the curved inner Edge that look to keep the top edge of the plastic container full of the product from actually touching the smooth and flat area of the containers lid. You can use a razor blade or sharpen to a point a flat screwdriver that you don't care about or broke the tip off of and run that around the Inside Edge of the lid and it will quickly pop off and leave flat and clean the plastic so that when you put it over a cup or something that has curled under Edge it will almost become water locking or liquid locking if that cup were to get knocked over or tilt too far. PS I forgot to mention taking drill up hole with a drill bit that's about 3/8 in to 5/16 into the lid some people will do it in the center I prefer to do it about halfway from the center to the circular Edge that way if you put a large chunk of ice and it's going to reside in the center of your cup wherever it can travel if it goes all the way to the bottom and your straw will hit that and not move it of course but if you put the straw hole closer to the edge that won't matter at all and you'll run into no issues with large pieces of ice or ice cubes that Bond to others
On that first one with the Winney-the-Pooh characters, they made an artsy toy for kids where they could draw anything on the plastic sheets and cut them out, heat them in the oven and they'd shrink. It was called "Shrinkydinks".
If you already figured out a way to screw the wide diameter cylinder part of a plastic bottle together, and it is still not completely air and liquid tight. Then a little bit more heatwork will solve that. greyishgreblum, "Pottery tap and die" w/ "cookie cutter" tap tool modification💜
I worry if heating the plastics creates unhealthy off-gassing. ALSO, If you are using plastic bottles on a regular basis such ideas tap out pretty quickly -- just avoid regularly using plastic to begin with.
I have only watched the first craft at this point, and, I WANT ONE. 😚 Sherie Rodrigues from Australia. And the 2nd idea, Been there, done that, so, I HAVE GOT TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE. LOL
5:59 Hey now there’s a good idea for blowing up balloon, especially if you’re allergic to Latex! I haven’t found Latex free balloons, and I’m VERY allergic to it. As a matter of fact it could kill me to come in contact with it! One day I decided I could blow up a small balloon if I did it very fast, and washed my hands, and mouth really fast afterwards.Huge mistake! My lips swelled up pretty big!
7:07 yea hell no. All the nasty that may pick up not to mention the fruit loop crumbs now sucked into a hairdryer. if you cant pour a box into a bowl maybe just ask an adult or starve. and FYI thin plastic painted or not will not shrink and grow in thickness.
If you'll save your plastic cups( which are safer for you to drink out of versus the trend of having toxic coated paper drinking cups), including the typically thrown away plastic lid that snaps on and your straws they're easy to clean especially if you have many of them to clean at the same time which is the way I do it, wash them in a little better soapy water with a touch of bleach, rinse put inside your dish drainer and they can be used hundreds of times if you're careful with them. Occasionally you may want to hold one up to the light if you squeezed it too hard or it got the side pressed in by something to check for small cracks which are just small lines and typically does not arise until the cup has been around for over a year or two and been used probably over a hundred times. You can thank the lunatic ignorant leftist for places like McDonald's only carrying the unhealthy coated paper cups for sodas now. I still have some McDonald's plastic cups the white ones that have been used for 3 to 4 years and going strong now that is the epitome of recycling and we should all be doing it.
Ok who has a magnifying lens just laying around their house like really? The only one I would ever use is the first. Most of these are not only pointless but also a waste of time.
@@fitfornothing no they had a magnifying lens which isn't the same thing as a magnifying glass and honestly it really isn't. Like who really uses magnifying glasses these days I sure as heck don't.

and melting plastic is toxic

5:58 So creative. My daughter wanted me to immediately implement this idea with balloons. Thank

Great video and great ideas.. in a huge Dan of reusing and recycling plastic
Maybe some ideas with other plastic bottles besides water bottles and pop bottles like laundry soap bottles or bleach bottles??
Both bleach and (conventional) laundry soap are extrordinarily toxic, so it's probably not a good idea to repurpose those containers.
Yes the fire blower great idea 👍 and the balloon pump
I like the umbrella hack

uh dont heat up plastic in your oven or inside your house... those are toxic fumes...
I like the mug idea. imagine camping, and next morning needing a mug for your warmly AM drink. easy matched set! LOL
That much would definitely come apart and someone would get burned
The more common way to do shrinky-dinks is by quickly sand one side of the plastic and use colored pencils.
👍Same fun. 0 toxic fumes
WOW! amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Love it all! 👏👍😁
Can one melt the clear 2 liter soda bottles? Is that the type of plastic that is safe to melt?
They cleverly make plastic charms out of lid but where did the remaining plastic go??? Not in dustbin?? It should be completely recycled.
Shrinky dinks omg .....this was awesome 👌 thanks

What will you with leftover plastic pieces!?? Some of these ideas good for Looking not a real solution.
How long to bake?
I just wish someone doing these would talk and explain how they are doing it.The videos are way to fast
ça ne marche généralement pas. Ces boitiers en plastiques que vous montrez ne sont pas faits en plastique qui font à la chaleur !
👍but iron me chipak kr iron ko khrab to nhi krega?

Plastic shrink characters DID NOT WORK. I read you need to use plastic #6, I used #1, maybe this is the problem :(
Reuses part of plastic bag... then buys apples that are needlessly packed in plastic.
Reuses plastic bottle.... to blow up plastic balloons.
Sigh.
Pity they never tell us what they do with the bits they cut off!
Rubbing plastic bottle on your iron--best way to ruin your iron, because you can't get the plastic off.
Shrinky Dinks was popular
Thanks alot
Isn't #17 a little unnecessary?
i might steal the first idea by times 10
So from just one piece of garbage to more garbage
👍
