Kayak Camping Texas - Surviving 60 Hours On The South Llano River

- Another kayak camping trip in the books! This one, bittersweet.
Our good friend Jason is moving to Colorado. As a sendoff, we spent 60+ hours on the South Llano River. This river has quickly become one of our favorites. It's spring fed, meaning water levels are generally favorable. At the time of this trip, Texas was going through a drought, and even then, this river was easily runnable.
On this trip we paddle roughly 16 miles over 3 days. We used a shuttle service though the good folks over at The Paddlers Porch. For $60.00 Billy makes your life much easier. Give him a call to shuttle your next trip. 903-215-1088

Where did y’all put in and take out at? We’re headed there next weekend and was curious how hard of a paddle it was over the three days.
Hey thanks for the video. What kind of fish did you say that was? It looked like it could be from the bass family? And are they tasty? Be safe be blessed.
You referring to the Guadalupe Bass, or the catfish? No clue what Guadalupe Bass taste like, but I'd assume a white flakey fish.
@@WET_TV I found out it is a bass. Use to seeing the dark stripe on a bass. That Guadalupe bass is a pretty fish. Thanks for the reply.
That fish was huge!!
Just a tip for fishing the river there are good bass in those rapids so don’t pass them up👍
Guads on guads in there for sure
Man that was an awesome trip you had. You had a nice size group that you went with. You was catching a lot of fish man. You also had some nice campsites too. I love your Bonafide kayak man. That's my dream kayak I'm trying to get. And you got my color too " RED " question man? How is it to kayak Barefooted 👣 on those foot brace? I need some soft foot brace because I just had foot surgery not to long ago. I am recovering from two broken feet and surgery. That is sad that your buddy is moving to Colorado but that was a nice way to celebrate your last moments on the river with him. One thing for sure at least you have a place to go kayaking at. Good video man thanks you for sharing.
Appreciate the comment. I love the Bonafide, It's been a kayak. Pedals are soft, I paddle barefoot most of the time.
@@WET_TV oh okay the pedal are soft. I'm trying to get one man. Oh I hear you brother on paddling barefooted 👣 I'm am forced to do it. I have very very extremely wide feet sz15 with a foot that 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe with very very fat wide toe that are equally straight across & they don't make shoes , socks , or boots that's wide enough for my foot. This is why I have to kayak barefooted 👣. I wish my toes were at a 45-degree angle like everybody else's toes and not straight across making the foot very very extremely wide. Maybe I can find some shoes that will fit my foot. I can find my size I just can not find my widths & doesn't help to have very very fat wide toe. Appreciate that brother look forward to your next adventure.
awesome video
Thanks, it's an awesome river.
We are planning an overnight kayak camping trip on the south llano this July. Any recommendations for put in and takeout spots would be appreciated. Just looking for one night on the river
Give the Paddlers Porch a call in Junction. They can recommend some good floats.
What kayak were you on during this trip?
@tcontreras44 I'm in my Bonafide SS127
@@WET_TV heck yeah. I’m currently using a ascend 128t but I’m upgrading next year just trying to figure out what will be my best option for when me and my group take longer trips like 4-5 days
What part of the river is this?
South Llano kinda near Junction.
getting a little grey in that beard!
Like my man oso!
