My wife knows she can't bother me for an hour and in half!! Awesome video as usual..Thanks for sharing with us ..much appreciated
I'm excited jus to watch this with a couple beers tonight! Duuude thank you 😀🔥🏕️ ! Always entertaining and love when you say but first I gotta sip ah the oooollll baaannana flask😄!
This is 100% the ausble river!
Or the tittibawasseee which is what I’m thinking cause it’s more flat in most areas. You need to take your wife to the lumberman’s memorial during the fall when the leaves change can’t beat it.
I've been to that first spot he got out!!!! I've conue camped with my son for 20 year's!! That the entrance to the alcona pond! He must have put in at the 3000 bridge!!! @@ChristopherAnderson-tz8ym
3 days? You're gonna need a bigger banana flask!
🤣🤣🤣 I've thought about that. I'm hoping to get a week long trip in this summer. I'll definitely need a bigger flask for sure 👍
2 tips to improve your fishing. (1) When holding the rod for reeling or casting place the reel stem (where it comes down where it is attached) between your index and middle fingers. Your thumb would then go up on top of the handle. This will give you much more control of the rod. (2) After tying on your spinner, trim the tag end down close to the knot. That 2" of line you leave hanging out might impact the action of the spinner.
Thanks for the tips!
Simon, Andy from Kent Survival, Craig from East Anglian Bushcraft, you can't go wrong, these guys ROCK LOL !!!!
Three of the all time greats!
I thoroughly enjoyed your little idyll there and I cheered when you mentioned Simon!! Been a fan of his for ages. You both very your adventures more than most wild campers and for me, an ex camping, now wheelchair-bound soul, it's fabtastic seeing the outdoor world through your videos. We brits love a cheeky beer or cider🍻
Thank you so much!! I'm really glad to hear you are getting enjoyment from this and we're both fans of Simon. I'll be sure to grab a couple of cheeky beers next time as well. Cheers!
Only snooty Canadians say portage the way they say it…like the snooty French! PORTAGE BABY like a proud American! Love your videos Sam 🍌!!!!
Thank you for tuning in and thank for answering the question ❤️
Lol, sorry I hope I"m a non snooty Canadian...but I've always been taught the french pronouncation as it is a french word.
Happy to see you San bananas thank you for your camping. Thank you for taking me along with you. I really enjoy them. Thank you Sam. You’re an awesome dude.🙏💯🇺🇸🔥
Nice to see ya brother!
I was glad to see this today. I was wondering how you’d squeeze a 3 day trip into 30mins.
Also, since I’m from North Ontario Canada, where there’s a large French influence, we pronounce it Por-Taj (like Taj Mahal). Cheers! 🍻
Cheers and thanks for watching!!
Awesome Sam. You did it! Whew. Ms. Bananas. Is pretty helpful with this dried ready to hydrate meals for you. Makes it so much easier for your trips. Enjoyed the scenery. Thanks for taking us with you Much appreciated.
Linda thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it.
great videos -- tip use your bike chain to lock your canoe next time
That's a great idea!
I looooved this video :) Wow, I'm impressed with your canoe skills getting through the rough water. And I especially loved all of the wildlife, and the campfires. Riding an ebike looks so fun! I'm thinking about getting one.
Thank you so much! The e-bikes are definitely fun and they are getting super popular.
Love your videos! Ignore the negative comments from people being armchair QBs. You do an unbelievable job.
Thank you!!!
That’s a beautiful area. I’ve spent time in Gaylord. It’s surprising how mountainous it is. I’d be interested in seeing how you dehydrate your food in a future video
New commenter, long time viewer. Awesome job on this one. Love all your vids. Gonna get me a Sam bananas shirt too.
Awesome! Thank you!
Loved the trip. Enjoyed you taking us along. Especially loved the turtles sunbathing on the tree in the water. So cute. God Bless you and be safe.❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
Going to need that banana flask to ease the.pain of your rowing muscles lol
Did you catch any fish at all? Nice 3 day adventure. Careful on that river. Take care man
Amazing video it looked a little sketchy before the dam I had a kayaking trip planed but it got canceled me and my boys and daughter was going to rent some and take a two day trip with one night to camp but the river was really high and they would let us go said we have to reschedule it. I completely understand there concerns because the same weekend someone died on the same stretch of water we was going to take. So it has gotten to hot now so we have it scheduled for the fall. Stay safe
Heyy Sam,you were flying down the river glad everything turned out ok,beautiful scenery tranquil music, you picked an awesome camping spot, the birds are so pretty great video thanks for sharing stay safe 😊
Awesome thank you!
I really enjoy your videos brother. You keep it real. No editing out stuff like flipping your tent over. I do believe you will figure the fishing out. I have followed you since you first started and watch you grow, both in camping experience and subscribers. Keep it real!!??
Thanks so much man! Really doing my best out here, I appreciate you noticing
In Alaska we are required (not really, but ya know...) to say POR-tage as opposed to por-TAGZHhhh(huh?). Nothing against our Canadian neighbors, but we say it w/o the French flair?
🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely loved this video! The serene beauty of the wild river and your peaceful journey truly captured the essence of nature. Can't wait for your next adventure.
Thank you so much!!
Hello @CampingwithSamBananas if you're ever near South Bend Indiana (Northwest Indiana) hit me up, I'd like to take you out for a beer and some scotch eggs. Cheers.
Will do, cheers!
The music at 53:16 was SPOT ON my man, Spot On!!!
Right on dude! That one was free. The very next song cost money 🤣
@@CampingwithSamBananas Oh, figures but as big as you're getting, maybe worth it for you? Not sure?
This was my favorite video you've done! The beauty of the river and woods on either side made it perfect. I loved hearing the loons, and I think a barred owl on your first night, and seeing the beaver, muskrat and geese families was the best part. Sorry you didn't catch any fish. This river reminds me of the Coeur d Alene River or Lake Roosevelt, both within driving distance to where I live.
Glad you liked it Joyce! Lots more to come this summer, believe me
Yay a three day canoe camping trip! I love these longer videos. It sure is beautiful scenery out there. Mrs. Bananas dehydrated beans and hamburger helper looked delicious. You sure had some rough waters on your second day. I was getting stressed watching you paddle though it. The guy in a raincoat watching you from the shoreline standing next to a tree around 49 to 50 mins in was a bit creepy. Did you see him? He watched you a bit then walked off into the bush. Thanks for an awesome video. 😊👍
Nice to see you Karen!
Great trip Sam, reminds us of back in the day when we took canoe trips on the James River in Virginia. Say hello to Mrs. Bananas for us. BTW, when you finally catch that big fish, are you going to clean it and cook it or catch and release ?
Working towards being able to do multiple day survival videos. Gotta learn to fish first 🤣. Big hello from Mrs 🍌
Cool Sammy! Thanks for my mini vaca!;) Great to see you out there! Where's Killian? 😊
He's doing well! I'll have him out for a trip soon for sure 👍
Hey Sam, after eating all those beans, I hope those other campers are up wind from you. LOL.
🤣🤣
Watching your video made me load up my gear into my truck. I head out tomorrow for three days. Unfortunately it won't be the boundary waters.
Good luck!
I have to give you a lot of credit. I never see the production crew in any of your videos. Great production and editing. Keep it coming Sam. lol
Hahaha! I kept them well hidden 🤣
Come on! At 6:07. That makes me want to drop everything. I’m doing and run over there just to see that for myself.
Oh man it's gorgeous!
I regularly make quesadeas. love incorporating these into foods ... cheers... enjoyed the entire video
👍👍👍
Great video Sam. I think your best yet. Thanks and enjoy good health
Thank you so much!
For the Banana 🍌 Flask!!! 👍👍😉😃
PS you're the man dude! Nice to see you. Hope all is well brother.
Loved it !! Thanks Sam, love these longer videos too. Great job. !!
Yay! Thank you!
Welcome back to Northern Michigan. I’ll figure out the River. Lol
Not too hard to figure out if you know the area 😉
@@CampingwithSamBananas I’ll try and give you my best guess after I finish watching the video.
Ausable river 100%
Remember on your phone ! Don’t be a dummy
Awesome adventure! Yeah I think that was Coyote poops!
Thanks!
Thank the Lord for classic collapsible blow tubes I used to use an arrow
Haha for real
Sam i think your flask is as popular as you are bro. Killer video as always.
Thank you!!
I grew up in northern Minnesota. Pretty close to Canada in fact. And we -and I mean every single last human being I ever met up there- always said 'portidge' just like you did in the video! Must be all the French across the border makin' 'em talk funny, eh?!?!
Haha nice 🤣
I am from W V ,and I say " poor - tage
Hey Sam, how is that Garage Beer ? Do you recommend it ?
It's a solid light beer
My gosh I would absolutely love taking one of these adventures. Me and the wife have a nice camper and have a great time but this is something I can hopefully get the fellas to do. I have all the stuff ready to go minus the canoe or kayak. That will be soon. Cheers
Even if you don't want to tackle this big of a trip, most of these rivers have long day trips you can do. I do them with friends all the time. So much fun!
Yeah. Im ready for a big one. We always do Mohican which is a blast just not long enough for me. Thanks for the info
Y knot
because ewe can
Sam get you some nite crawlers and you should apologize to who ever was thoughtful enough to send you that table. Would your grandpape be proud of how you acted ?
My grandpa would probably be glad I have a tiny bit of integrity 🤣
@@CampingwithSamBananasI guess
Taco Bell packets...lol....makes it all taste better
🌮
I like his videos too
Nice trip Sam, well worth the wait!!
So glad you enjoyed it ❤
Such a great video! Looked like a good time!
It was!
Love the part were you size up the poop 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
We’re glad to see you, Sam bananas you’re back. You are so cool. Love the camping. Keep up the good work. Hope we get more awesome videos. Keep them coming. We love you. Have a good night.
Thanks so much! More coming soon and more regularly.
You need some IPA beer’s they are 7.5 or 8 yours are 4% this is what Simon meant by Cheeky Beers. Go hard or go home. The UK laughs at America water down beer. Get some IPAs.
I'm going out this weekend.
👍👍
Great place to camp. I always love being next to the water. Calming!!
Me too!
If you’re in the Cadillac are again let me know, I launch my jet sled from high bridge all the time, I’ll take you on a good fishing trip!!
This video was worth the wait cant to see what you have planned next❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Thank you so much for watching!!
Portage. Poortage
Really enjoy your videos, Sam. Wish you safe trips and good health 🙏
Like number 556. I live here in Arkansas and we have some beautiful mountains. But i think Michigan is my favourite state. Especially the upper peninsula. I love the fall the best love the fall colours and the grest lakes.Next time your there you should try Frankanmuthe Dark beer its a Michigan beer. Its delicious. Great vidio. If winters weren't so long and cold i would move their 👍🏻💛🙏🏻
Thanks Bill! Planning to make it down your way someday. This summer I have some good locations planned for Upper Pennisula.
Nice full video no glitch
🙏
Loved this adventure
❤️
Hi Sam, Lol I think you were at the place I took my Barrel Boat Camper last year. I did two trips there. I still love canoe camping too. Another great video Sam! Thanks
Nice man! Not sure what a barrel boat camper is, but it sounds like fun 👍
@@CampingwithSamBananas Take a look if you get a chance, I'm curious to see if we were in the same place, and then you can see what my Barrel Boat looks like, I stayed out there for 5 days on solar power.
Very nice trip sam the racoons will eat every crumb of your food little turds i have never had a bear even mess around by any campsite thankfully
Great video, hubs and I especially liked 1:17:58 😂
Hahaha that was my favorite part of the whole trip 😂
HURRAY! A new video! Have fun be safe.
Will do, thank you for watching!
I'm glad you brought out Simon A bloke in the woods he is frigan awesome, nice bloke. friends with Kent Survival another one of my favorites. And of course, SamBannas, great video. Im from Michigan BEUTIFULL state 😊good work Sam
Thanks.
Right on!
Nice one Sam 🍌🇬🇧
Thank you!
Sam, it's been awhile--some of us want to see you get tipsy and dance to Miami Sound Machine atop a picnic table. Come on, you can do it!
Stay tuned! It's been a while I need to revisit that little maneuver 🤣
😂
I watch Simon as well as Andy from Kent Survival and Mark from MDM Outdoor Adventures. They are all British and drink cheeky beers 😂 You obviously approved of Mrs Bananas hamburger helper this time since you didn’t dump it in the fire on “accident” 😂
🤣🤣🤣 no it's really good. The first batch I dehydrated and then rehydrated one serving just to check. It was great! Then I took one serving on that trip you saw. Then Killian got into the rest and ate the entire thing so we had to remake it but it was super similar.
GREAT KAYAK SETUP. BEAUTIFUL WATER
Thanks 👍
Hats off Sam! Love your channel'n'vibe! ...but that looks like a NEW Banana Flask? ;~) Carry on, be safe out there.
Thank you!!
Sammy, this is Ian Jacobs, Todays Angler is who my buddy always suggests to watch for fishing tips! Hope all is well, grrreat video as always :)
Nice 👍
A brilliant video man . Thanks for taking us on the ride of a lifetime. Choppy water but you made light work of it. Amazing stuff my friend. How are you going to beat this one ? All the best my friend and say hello to Kevin and Mrs Banana from me. John from Sheffield UK England !!!😊
Glad you enjoyed it, more to come my man!
Fantastic!! That’s one I need to do… I hiked the trail there a few years ago and I think you did it right in the canoe! Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for bringing us along! Cheers!
Yes sir! Nice to see ya man! Keep up the good work on your channel as well friend
When you said you had to portage, you weren’t kidding! I usually think of portage as having to spend a few minutes getting past an obstruction. You should try my home river sometime - Edisto River. The longest blackwater river in the country. Can spend a nice couple days paddling from mid-state to the coast.
Very cool! I will keep that in mind next time I'm down there.
It would be cheeky not to. If you understand our English twang. John from Sheffield UK England
I love it!
A cpl of cheeky beers means nothing more than a cpl of well deserved beers, hope that helps 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Rich n da uk. Gr8 vid by the way. 👍🏻
Thanks so much for watching also for the clarification 🏴
Sam! Great video as usual. You might also enjoy an account named Blot Outdoors Show. Reminded me when you said “cheeky beers”😂
I love that channel! He's the man!
It's always amazing to see you Sam banana 🍌 I really enjoy watching you're camping 🏕️ video
Thanks for watching! More to come soon 👍
You saw the San Juans (Washington). Just imagine a bull seal doing a cannon ball at you to save his most favorite 15 girlfriends or nearly getting peeled off a rock with ankle deep water trying to hold onto the boat! Great video!! Nice shoutout to Simon. I watch some of those guys out there in the UK. I have a friend who could be a short lost relative of Camping with Josh!
Thanks for watching!
Enjoying your videos. But I couldn’t eat anything with a tomato based food.I would be in the woods with my toilet paper all night .Do you have to stay away from any kind of food? Was you able to hear the other people camping?I would have broken my neck if I went do that hill to the water.Glad you were safe.
Yeah I try to limit gluten, but it's tough to do.
Hi Sam what Gorgeous Beautiful Awesome Amazing Scenery out on lake ❤😊
I agree!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventure. Loved the wildlife shots. You'll have to do a vid on how to make dehydrated meals for the uneducated. Mrs Banana they look great.!
That's a great idea actually
Hey Sam, just letting you know we are in California in the high desert in Victorville…..
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
Sam! Long time no message. Been saving up your videos to watch on our weeks A/L . Just marvelous. Glad to see you are keeping well. Best wishes as always Helen and Wayne in the UK
Awesome nice to see ya both!!
Being from Tx I saw the beaver and immediately thought gator lol. Awesome vid as usual, keep em coming
Thanks! Will do!
These canoe trips are terrific, and by far the most dramatic! When you said “I’m glad I didn’t ditch” I thought those could be your last words lol.
Haha for real! I love backpacking too, but there is something incredibly visceral about a canoe trip. Glad you liked it Mike!
Add Going Solo Outdoors to your viewing list. Seems to be an American in the UK doing all the hiking and camping over there. Just did a packet trip on a lake which was a great video.
Fantastic channel I love that guy
Great setup for exploring, those ebikes keep getting cheaper and cheaper. Saw 1 fellow kit motorized his bike and with a trailer and solar panel/charger is touring around the Arizona area.
Haha they really do keep getting cheaper! The market is kind of flooded right now.
Love your videos!! Every time you say you gotta take a “nip off the ol banana flask” I always wanna say banana hammock!! 😂🤣 But in all seriousness you are one of our favorite people to watch and love when we see a new video drop!
Love that! I even think banana hammock myself 🤣
Good job. Now I don't have to go camping. Lol. I have a 4 day cabin rental coming up soon. No tent camping for my old arthritic bones. Keep on camping.
Dan that sounds like fun! That's about as close to camping as I can get Mrs Bananas to do as well
Hi Mr Banana. I really like your videos. Somehow you make it all work out. It does get a little sketchy at times. I liked your last camping spot you looked very relaxed. Until the next video take care.
Thanks for watching Brenda!
I rush the fire all the time and then have to pull chard logs off! I'm working on my fire staring skills. Their getting better but patience is definitely a virtue. 😂
You and me both!
Pardon the vernacular, but a translation loses something... "Great shit dude! The extra time is like a movie.
Thanks so much man!
Worms on a hook with a bobber is how I fish. I’m no professional by any means, but I have caught fish that way many times. 😊👍🏻
Right on 👍 I'll try it!
Peeling birch bark off the way you did it 1350 effectively kills the tree I made the same mistake when I was a teenager
Not the way I did it, it doesn't kill the tree I have two birch trees in my yard. Been peeling the bark off of them for 8 years now. You just take what is protruding, it's not a problem at all. The problem is when you pull too much excess.
Coyote poop! All the hair from the critters it eats! Hey Sam, welcome back to Michigan!
Thank you! Planning to spend plenty of time up there this year
Great adventure Sam! Some @$$ kicking wind and a little rain just to remind us that it is Sam Bananas! Thanks Buddy
You bet!
I loved watching you in my home state. I love the dispersed camping here in Michigan. Was this on the Upper Manistee River?
Yes it was!
