Yes! Me too. That’s cool that Missouri is an easy homeschool state too! I was homeschooled partly in Kansas growing up and there was a 5 hour a day requirement of “schoolwork” so Texas is much different, I am thankful there’s no need for a set amount of time to school.

OMG I want to go here so bad my gpa is a 3.89 and my act was a 21... and I take AP and honor classes etc. However I just noticed this school requires a art credit to get in and I have never taken a art class in HS. Next year is my senior year is it to late?
Hey Casandra! I’d check out the THSC which I linked in the description they’ll have a lot of info on that. For lower grades there’s no forms to fill out, now for high school when you’re starting to keep track of transcripts I’m not sure what that looks like as I’m a ways from being there. The website I linked will have all that info though for sure!

Hi Bianey! Awesome so glad you have found all of your curriculums! As for good citizenship, I found the article helpful that I am going to link. For us we focus on learning the pledge of allegiance, recognizing the Texas flag too and some songs. We just were talking about the state plant and birds last week (I Spy In The Texas Sky book is a great resource for that!) and add in different topics about being a good citizen etc. That I feel like intertwine with being a good person in general that we are already learning! I know Texas is huge, but are you familiar with any groups in the Dallas area? Would love to find one. Also, we have a 6 year old in first grade. Do I have to register her with the state as being homeschooled? Thanks!

I don’t know of any homeschool groups in Dallas but you might check out bewildandfree.org to see if there is a homeschool group located in that area! Some groups are Facebook based but not all I don’t think. Also, all if you are withdrawing your kiddo from a Public school check out the Texas Homeschooling Coalition Website: thsc.org/homeschool-in-texas/
