    Very well explained. Thanks for the info. I am yet to add a black watch to my collection, and i'm not sure i will. I think black ceramic is the way to go, if any.

    How does the pvd coating react to chlorine or other corrosive chemicals

    Very interesting. I am an amateur, so most of your content is beyond me. Do you know, is there a layman's method for applying PVD to a case? What you describe seems to require high professional equipment and skills. I removed a bad enamel (or PVD) coating which was peeling off, and now it's just the base metal. But now I want to re-apply a black coat (PVD) on the case. I'm not sure how to do it, or even whether I should. Thanks.

    Thanks for the explanation. One question: if you scratch a DLC coated watch, can this be repaired or polished in any way?

    Excellent explanation!
    Question1: Can a DLC coating be gold looking? Or DLC must always be black?
    Question2: Do you know by chance where can I get parts DLC coated?
    Thanks!

      Hi! Sorry for my late answer! DLC can be of different materials and thus different colors as well. They are usually black just because of fashion, but you can have any color, as well as gold and chrome. And I don't know who to recommend to make this job.

    is it possible to remove DLC and PVD coat?

    • @CHRONOTALK
      @CHRONOTALK  2 роки тому

      Yes, but they are very very hard to remove perfectly, since they kind of penetrate on the base material. You can only remove it mechanically (by abrasion), so you will fatally loose material as well!
