Those are some big eggs Pete. I can't wait to see if they all hatch. From my experience humidity levels are very important. Hatched a lot of chicken and pheasant eggs in the past. Take care Pete.
From all the reviews on line it seems like a good unit. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on it as i am sure we all value your honest opinion.
into the warm, draft free, temperature controlled second bathroom it goes, which no on e uses anyway!! Consistent temperature and an electric base heater. Well above 72 and no one opening/closing doors/windows.
Yep I plugged mine in yesterday and haven't heard it turn yet! Nothing said in the directions .. thought we weren't supposed to wash the eggs? if there poop I rub it but use it as is if not too dirty
I have the same one. I noticed there was a hole on the lid right above the temp meter thats the size of a pencil. Did I get a defective one or do all these models have that. My humidity wont stay above 49 and I dont know but I think its cause of that tiny hole. Should I close it or is that how its intended or show I close the little widow slider? The instructions say it should be left half way open.
Very interesting, we have raised chickens for the past five years. Wondering how good those eggs will be after being cleaned and sitting out for many hours. Just curious
Okay here's a situation for you maybe you can help me I had a broody hen she'd been on the nest for about 14 days. Now I have different nesting boxes around so she was separate from the others and the other chicks did quit laying in this particular box. I woke up one morning went to check my chicks feed them collect eggs and three eggs were crushed and two had been eaten. She was very protective of the remaining eggs and I wondered why she was breaking them but I found out it was not her. So I was pretty upset two eggs have were not fertile one egg was and I disposed to the baby chick was heartbroken. The next day I wake up and go out and check my chicks and over half of them had been broken and eaten. So I removed the remaining 6 eggs and I cleaned them best I could without washing them, but they were pretty grody so there's some dried yolk and even one pine chip that is dried to it and I picked it off as best I could but I didn't want to crack the egg. We are on the countdown to 5 days before they're supposed to hatch should I wash these eggs?
I am a school teacher and I am using this incubator. Do I need to set this up 24 hours in advance to get the temp regulated? It sounds like I only need to plug it in, when I get the eggs because of the count down..? Help!
Just a couple of hours before. It is when you plug it in for the first time it will start counting down. Make sure when you push the days button it is at 21 days if not you will have to rest it it’s in the manual. Have a great day
hey buddy is there anyway you can look at your ac adapter and tell me what the voltage and amps is on it. I lost mine and need to know so i can get another
@@cheaphomesteading Man you are a lifesaver! thank you! I was able to find an old computer charger that is the same volts and amps. I am back in business.
Oh great! I don’t have a room with a stable temperature and our air is very dry. I just ordered this thing, it should be here in 3 days!....oh, most videos do a time lapse in one video.. I’ll look elsewhere...
My incubator went through three seasons it’s still going you might’ve just got a dud you should try to talk to the company. See if they can send you another one. It’s my favourite incubator. Thanks for watching.
Dont Wash off eggs...they have a protective layer.
What if they are all pooped on
@@ninobrown555 Doesn’t matter don’t wash them. Keep your boxes clean and collect ASAP shouldn’t be much poop if any!

Very helpful! Thank you.
If you finished this series it is not on youe video list?????
So my house is like 68 degrees. Do all incubators need a hot house? Doesn’t make sense to me.
Also how much water do you pour into it?
I’m 3 days from hatching with the same incubator and my house is 68 year round. I will let you know how it goes.
@@usmc200971how it went?
Im testing mine right now. But the humidity is on 59. Is that bad or should I open the vent a little bit to decrease the humidity? TIA

My 360 keeps dropping humidity to 04 and then jumps to 20%. I'm afraid of losing all my eggs now. No one to contact for help.
Make sure the lid is sitting down perfectly there’s a notch that has the line up
@@cheaphomesteading Thank you yes I hear the clicks nice and snug. I think I have a defective humidity in the unit.
Thanks so much!!
compared to the cheap knockoff I'm wondering how the plastic dome THICKNESS compares to the cheapos.

Why is the red light blinking on and off
Mine blinks the whole time. It’s a great incubator I’ve had great success with it
Will geese eggs fit
It's a toss up. you may get a good one, you may get one that fails in short order. They're cheap. Ours literally lasted 2 hrs before failing.
