Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the Elder Scrolls Online. Have you ever done a video on the appearance of the races? Like who's the most unappealing to the others? Who's the most attractive to them? What happens when two different races procreate, does the child take on the appearance of both? And can princes have children, what would that even look like?
@samuelevans1399 the child takes the race of whatever the mother is that's about really all I know and that bretons are hybrids between ancient kneeds and high elves so there's that
Yeah but it ain't Skyrim. At this point I blame ESO for the lack of a new single player TES game. I'd rather Bethesda farm it out than take another decade to work on it.
@EJDubbz ESO and mainline Elder Scrolls games have different developers. Bethesda develops the main games, and Zenimax develops ESO. Bethesda is currently working on Starfield, and elder scrolls six is probably on the backburner
I think he, even more than the other shifting impermanent daedra, best fits the appearance of being inconsistent. I feel his appearance has more to do with the observer than himself, when you see him you aren't seeing *him~, so much as your mind's best attempt to comprehend what you are looking at. So a grounded, practical minded child of Cyrodiil in Oblivion sees a potato crab because that's what the statues look like. A superstitious son or daughter of Skyrim, regardless of race, is likely to be more accepting of forces as vague and grand and unknowable, surrounded by Norse and Scottish flavored myths and magic that tends to be more ethereal. Then in ESO we get a more viable confrontable threat as we are in a dragonbreak surrounded by powers that are formidable, but not beyond the reach of our combined efforts to defeat them, and is perhaps held to a stable form by multiple simultaneous observers, perhaps.
Well, he literally formless bloob, and crustacean part are mostly just half ass statue made by their followers and stuff. If the guy want to be tentacle blob, you can't complain shit, you ain't a god.
I'm a long time ESO player, but hearing Camel say there's really something to be enjoyed and something to really be suprised about for all TES players really warms my heart in some way
Mora in the slavic mythology is a suffix for the lower tier immortals. And Hermes, being both a lower tier god and a god of knowledge, is the perfect name for this Daedra Lord. Everything in the Elder Scrolls is layer within layer, meaning within a meaning. Love it!
I recently bought Necrom cause I absolutely love Hermaeus Mora and need more Apocrypha, it was so nice to see an expansive look into apocrypha. Hopefully we get more expansive planes of oblivion in future elder scrolls titles. ESO definitely pleases my lore frenzied heart
I think Starfield is a good indicator of the kinds of sizes we can expect for future titles. probably not gigantic empty expanses that take many irl hours to cross but definitely Big Enough to keep people satisfied.
hey Camel, im surprised that you haven't, with all your investigative skills, Tamrielic knowledge and lusciously long locks, looked into the contracts we receive from Nazir and who was responsible for putting the hits out on these seemingly uninteresting miscellaneous quests
@@Averyr91 without looking at all the possibilities its mostly just speculation, some may have clues close by or through dialogue and some may need a deeper investigation into the contract target, if anyone can figure it out, its Camel

Also played it on the PTS. That twist at the end. Really didn’t see that coming at all! Had a lot of thoughts on what might of been forgotten but that wasn’t even on the radar!
My favorite interpretation of Herma-Mora remains Vicn's mod trilogy. Even though Glenmoril isn't finished yet and Unslaad is being expanded again, the execution and extrapolation of the deep lore, particularly regarding Mora, is incomparable
@@carlk6443 I can't summarize everything the trilogy dives into, there's just that much, but the gist is that Herma-Mora is trying to learn how to escape the Dream, and he's orchestrating crazy plots across time to figure it out. He was messing about in Saarthal, masquerading as Jhunal, growing people out of tree limbs, sending agents to infiltrate child slavery cults, all kinds of weird stuff. Vicn's blog entries lately have been promising to bring in the lore regarding Ysgramor and his connection to Mora too. Basically, Vicn portrays Mora as a figure who lives up to his eldritch reputation while also being a compelling character that the player can somewhat understand.
As the Prince of knowledge who tests mortals, I suppose it makes sense Camel would find out about him on a Beta server. Perhaps that’s why his followers get lost following his quest for knowledge - they’re MMO players.
I'm missing out so much... Long time fan of you. Love ESO but haven't been able to play for a while. Glad to experience this vicariously through your thorough and erudite presentation.
Awesome that you got this sponsorship. Definitely looking forward to the lore summary videos on this expansion. Pretty sure this is the first time I'm saying that for ESO lmao
While he’s my favorite Daedric Prince, I didn’t like the model for Necrom. It didn’t feel as fluid as the Skyrim one. It’s not bad, but it felt stagnant compared to the Skyrim one. Like 7:00 I feel like that’s a way better model. It is very fluid yet still shows how mysterious and powerful Herma Mora is while the ESO version feels more solid. The DLC was absolutely fantastic though! I loved exploring the new lands and I love the new class a lot! All hail The One Who Knows!
In all the videos that this guy does I think I may have found a detail that has gone unnoticed in the game or at least isn't talked about very much Movarth has a foot fetish. His dungeon actually has a minor focus on footwear. Movarth has a shelf filled with many of the styles of boots and shoes, he even has a unique set of hide boots named after him at what I presume would be his bedside. At the beginning of the dungeon you can even hear a vampire thrall with unique dialogue revolving around him gathering clothes off of a pile of their murdered victims. One of the first things the thrall starts talking about is the boots that one of the bodies are wearing. Also Alva (the vampire that you have to kill who enthralled Hroggar and is in love with Movarth) has a set of boots with a very uncommon appearance. Alva's boots while non-magical and not even given a unique name are still the only boots I have seen with that appearance. She is also in possession of the rare tavern clothes. I wouldn't be surprised if Movarth chose her for her unique fashion sense.
Interesting he's got connection to the tides in Khajiit myths, must've missed that note. It stands out to me as I remember reading somewhere that memories are stored in water in some beliefs in TES, which flow out into the seas after death.
Ngl, took me days to finally start questing as I was too busy exploring and looking at things in Necrom and Apocrypha. The devs really put a lot of detail and clutter in the environment to create immersion and the sense of being in a different world.
I doubt you’ll ever read this camel, but I’mma do it anyway. I grew up in SW florida, and a few months back I drove 21 hrs north to leave my family in florida behind and finally make my own way. I had never driven a road trip on my own, I had been awake for 24 hrs before the 21 hr drive, and I was driving through the night, and the whole time I had your vids on the aux, listening to your lore dumps to keep me entertained and awake. Even when I blew a tire in West Virginia at 3am and had to wait in the snow on the shoulder for a roadside rescue I was listening to your theory on the Augur of Dunlain. Appreciate it man, ya kept me sane.
Haven't seen you, or the guys over at Fudgemuppet talk much about the new *spoiler* daedric prince that Mora hid from living memory which is revealed in the DLC quests
1. Whoever wrote the script on this did a great job with alliteration and patter flow. A+ wordcrafting. 2. I still think HM was the one who led the charge against Jyggalag out of jealousy for the whole fate thing. He had to Highlander it up and break Jyg in the best-worst way possible. Interesting that the whole Fate thing never seems to mention Jyg anymore.
Thanks for the video Camel, hopefully you can talk more about that “surprise” after Necrom releases, it sounds utterly terrifying and could tie to the other Daedric stories in ESO (not spoiling it tho)
It stands to reason that Apocrypha would contain not only tomes, but also various biology, as DNA (or w/e the fantasy equivalent might be) is information.
Just one thing to clarify for those that don't know: The way he explained the different versions isn't 100% accurate in regards to the Collection vs the Upgrade. The Collection is not for new players so much as those that don't have all of the previous DLC. The Collection gives all of the DLC, the Upgrade only gives the Necrom DLC. If you are first starting the game and want all of the DLC, get the collection. If you have the base game with no DLC (Morrowind doesn't count, it's considered part of the base game), then the Collection will give you all of the DLC, but the Upgrade will only give you Necrom. If you have all of the DLCs, you only need the Upgrade. Also, for those that have some of the DLCs but not all of them, or those that only have the base game and are hesitant to get the Collection, your best option is to get the Upgrade. You can purchase the missing DLCs separately in the Crown Store. You're also supposed to be able to play them for free one Necrom comes out if you have ESO+, but I wasn't able to get that to work for a friend a couple years ago with the ones that should have been available then. I don't think it works for certain DLCs, but someone more knowledgeable might be able to explain that better. You can still purchase them in the Crown Store though. So again, Collection is not strictly for new players, but for those that do not have all of the DLCs already. Deluxe is basically the Collector's Edition.
5:01 I mean we've blamed the sword instead of the killer in the past. Look at Vietnam, we blamed the soldiers instead of the politicians who forced them to go there. Humanity really is pathetic.
Love all your videos. I’d be curious to see a timeline of the Stormcloaks. It feels all over the place. Asgeir Snow-Shod says that his father was a Stormcloak soldier when he was younger implying that the war has been going on for many years. The Markarth Incident suggests it was more recent than this, but when you arrive in Solitude they are executing a man for opening the gates for Ulfric, and I suspect trials don’t last very long in Skyrim based on the speed of Ulfric’s execution if you side with the empire or the speed with you are going to be executed at the beginning of the game. In Falkeath the merchant says he used to be a Stormcloak years prior. Whiterun is also confusing. Whiterun is the only Hold that managed to stay out of the war, yet it is the only city with a war hospital in the form of the temple which has wounded soldiers on every bed. Skirmishes in Whiterun are even a key part of the story of the Solitude Alchemist. I struggle to understand the Stormcloak timeline.
Also, Torygg isn’t in the hall of valor when you visit Sovngarde. Alduin has seemingly only just arrived to the 4th Era, rather than any time longer. Bethesda doesn’t know how time works. I feel like the war should’ve *just* started or started within 5 years of the game.
i wasn't gonna click but then i read the title Herma Mora has fascinated me since minute 1. If i lived in Tamriel i'd be one of the lost fools in his library. for. sure.
This is all well and good Camel, but did you find one of the books of the Poison Song series in the DLC? In case you didn't know, the Poison Song is a 7 part series written by Bristin Xel detailing a historically inaccurate epic saga, set in the aftermath of the war between the Dwemer and House Dagoth. 😜
Someone said that Herma Mora's knowledge domain is limited only the written ones. Is it true? I just wonder why Apocrypha is full of book thing, and why he can't extract Skaal tradition himself. Pardon my noobiness in lore.
Imagine if we meet Miraak and he is the good guy this time around. Lending aid and helping us save Apocrypha, it would make sense that Hermaeus Mora would utilize him to such end.
The real question is: Is there a copy of the book "The poison song" in Necrom's apocrypha? The history of an inaccurate epic saga set in the aftermath of the war between the dwemer and house Dagoth. 😂😂😂
I really want to know this and I think it's interesting that in skyrim you only seen dibella statues. I have like 9 dibella statues yet there are no other small statues that are different or can be picked up?

Side note, I've always wondered what was in all those books in his world. Like there can't be that much knowledge, but I guess that could depend, does he have a book about a guy named Jim who stole 2 GP from someone and went on to live a normal life? I feel like most of his books are "lame"
Yeah most knowledge and events are pretty mundane. Yet there is always a way to manipulate information to make it useful. Its all about how one can(t) use the tools they have. Although a overload of mundane info would still be pretty harsh on one’s mental state, arguably more so than “powerful” info.

That new class looks so sick! I might actually get this!
Just one thing to clarify for those that don't know:
The way he explained the different versions isn't 100% accurate in regards to the Collection vs the Upgrade. The Collection is not for new players so much as those that don't have all of the previous DLC. The Collection gives all of the DLC, the Upgrade only gives the Necrom DLC. If you are first starting the game and want all of the DLC, get the collection.

my 2 favorite Dadric Princes are Hermaeus Mora and Sheogorath, they are tied for 1st place.
Our favourite desert roaming mammal has brought us another great tale
Would love to play necron, if it plus eso didn’t cost $60. As a college student, I can’t really allocate that much towards games anymote
Hear that ESO haters? Camel said give Necrom a try, even it threw them a surprise when they played it, and as stated.. that doesn't happen easily
5:12 ah yes, the daedra of irresponsibility
He's the greatest of the Daedric Princes because...
... the eyes have it!
I do believe he was the guardian in a past time I will call, soulweaver he kept the under world and after life on check
brave of them to launch on the same weekend as diablo, thanks for the vid ;)
Bruh, the comments in here tell me they dont get to the Cloud district often.
Am I the only one that thinks Hermaeus Mora looks cute with the tiny two tentacles under his eyes?
Clicked for the title, and realized I was the odd one out. Nice to learn something about the ink overlord though.
okay but Mr. Mora is looking kinda cute ngl
"I am the one who knows." Mom?
Someone said that Herma Mora's knowledge domain is limited only the written ones. Is it true?
I just wonder why Apocrypha is full of book thing, and why he can't extract Skaal tradition himself.
Pardon my noobiness in lore.
Excellent video, thanks much! :)
Imagine if we meet Miraak and he is the good guy this time around. Lending aid and helping us save Apocrypha, it would make sense that Hermaeus Mora would utilize him to such end.
Reminds me of the gravemind.
KYAAA!? Step-tentacle, what are you doing?
The real question is: Is there a copy of the book "The poison song" in Necrom's apocrypha? The history of an inaccurate epic saga set in the aftermath of the war between the dwemer and house Dagoth. 😂😂😂
I really want to know this and I think it's interesting that in skyrim you only seen dibella statues. I have like 9 dibella statues yet there are no other small statues that are different or can be picked up?
What they thing is a prince I always thought princess
Camel - I don't like ESO
Bethesda - we will pay you to like it.
Camel - say no more
this is the first youtube sponsorship that has made me genuinely want to go out and pay the sponsor money... so congrats for that i think?

Side note, I've always wondered what was in all those books in his world. Like there can't be that much knowledge, but I guess that could depend, does he have a book about a guy named Jim who stole 2 GP from someone and went on to live a normal life? I feel like most of his books are "lame"
Yeah most knowledge and events are pretty mundane. Yet there is always a way to manipulate information to make it useful. Its all about how one can(t) use the tools they have.
Although a overload of mundane info would still be pretty harsh on one’s mental state, arguably more so than “powerful” info.
This chapter looks dope!
Was "The taste of the tentacle" really the best option for a title? (nice video btw)
I'm gonna need the 4 hour Camelcut of Hermaeus Mora
Our time in apocrypha was "BOUND"
I see what you did there camel 🤣
Did you know his favorite dessert is Hermaeus S'morea's?
Greetings from Apocrypha.
The shock is they answered what happened to the Dwmer right?
camel would get trapped in apocrypha so fast
Great vid! Do you plan on exploring that insane ending further? Extremely hyped!
