    This is good channel to see how a foreigner live in Korea, especially in Seoul without exaggerating how Korea is good~ every people is kind ~ and the Seould is wonderful like other many commercial foreigner channel.
    All the episodes are like letters from one of my friend living abroad to share how she lives a day and what she has struggled in a day. It is fun to watch and never get bored.
    It is interesting that how she takes and edit the video so well like that. I think that she is also a good writer.
    The second interesting thing is how she speaks Korean so well from the beginning. Her Korean speaking is also very nice and has good style.
    BTW, I found this channel while I was looking for a Osprey backpack review but now I am enjoying the Seoul.

    I understand how you feel about comparing yourself with your settled friends but also: You only live your 20s once, you can always get married later. I think i'd have a bigger regret to not travel and explore when im young rather than rushing to settle and climb the corporate ladder because thats what we've been told happiness is

    • @DeliaX
      @DeliaX  Рік тому +1

      Haha I actually don’t compare myself to my settled friends a lot, in my video I said IF I were to, it can get depressing real fast. I am more concerned about not reaching my career goals atm

    Could you talk about how you found your non teaching job in Korea? I want to make the move as well but it’s hard leaving behind a stable job

    • @DeliaX
      @DeliaX  Рік тому +7

      I also left a stable job but to me the experience and move to a new country was worth it for me. Think about what you really value and if a new experience is something you want, I’d say go for it :)

    Honestly, you're enjoying your life so much in Korea I don't think it's worth the time to compare yourself to people back home!! Live your own life girl you'll enjoy it more

    • @DeliaX
      @DeliaX  Рік тому

      Hahaha ok I’m sensing I may been misleading…I actually spend 95% of my comparisons on myself/my own goals and only 0.5% on people back home ..

    It's crazy how its been already over a year since I discovered your channel and have been following you since your CPHR studying days! I love watching your videos and vicariously living through you cause it's been a goal/dream of mine to go abroad for at least a year! This video definitely sparked that goal of mine again, but it might only happen if I get the courage to be outside my comfort zone and accept that whatever I've already established here can work itself out in the future 😂😭

      I’m so glad that interest sparked in you again! I get that it may be super uncomfortable and scary, but if it’s something you really want to try, I think you should ☺️

    Watched a couple of your videos! Very interesting!
    Curious, what is your job in Korea? Which visa are you using to live there?
    Do you have a job, or are you looking for one? Or, are you financially independent? Thank you if you can reply! 😊

    This is so so helpful Delia, thank you! I'm applying to the Epik Programme in Korean in March and fingers crossed will be successful and teach english in korea, and as I've never lived abroad before nor do I have much travel experience, everything is super new to me! I am curious about what websites you recommend for pre-ordering a korean phone sim card and if I can collect it at the airport or a local store or something? Also, I will need to see a dr when I go as i have medication for my epilepsy, how do foreigners access the doctors there? Thank you! 💖

    • @DeliaX
      @DeliaX  Рік тому +1

      Hi Abby 😇 that’s so exciting, I hope you get the opportunity you want!! The site is called trazy and you can have it delivered to your home country or you can select to pick it up at airport (I believe). I think it’s better to have it delivered ?? Up to you tho, check out the site and see what works best for you!
      As for doctors, I think any clinic is fine as long as you’re able to make an appointment with them which prob means you need a phone number and a form of ID! You can try to Google English speaking clinics

    Thanks Delia! As you were talking, I was wondering if your job in Korea was science related or HR related and if you got the job before going to Korea. I understand it is difficult to transition from, say, a teaching visa to the type of visa required to be able to do any different job there. Your desire to travel reminds me so much of my youngest son who travels as often as possible. He attended colleges in Italy, Switzerland, Australia, S. Africa and the US and it seems the travel bug has never left. He's been working from home since the virus hit and so he decided that for the next six months 'home' would be in Uruguay....I guess 'home' could be anywhere as long as the time difference works! I'm always surprised when someone says they enjoy working in China.....I think I'd have a real problem with CCP, but I'm more into politics than the average person. It's good to see you and you look healthy and like you're doing well. Hugs from Ohio, ARMY grandma

    I'm glad you're enjoying yourself so much, but I do get frustrated sometimes with the whole "tourist vs local" concept, as if being a tourist is somehow "less" than actually living somewhere, and especially the concept of travelling itself, that NOT travelling somehow makes someone "less" of a person than someone who can and does travel... Basically, as much as that other person in the comments said not to compare yourself, as much as I don't want to, I am ending up comparing myself to you, how great you're doing being independent in a foreign country, and loving it... At this point, I think I understand what it means and how it feels to be jealous...

      I guess in a way, I'm relieved that you still sometimes worry about how your friends and loved ones are doing back home
