- The first lady of Country Rock and California Rock, Ms. Linda was perhaps the most gifted, accomplished and versatile female vocalist of the late 20th century. No one covered more vocal genres with the consistent excellence of the Lovely Linda.
If I ever mention the name Linda Ronstadt when Dad's around he melts away.
He's 75!!
I can dig it. So am I, and so do I :)
Ditto. And your father is a very wise man. 😆
No auto tunes here folks. Linda was the real deal before illness took her singing voice away. One of the best gifted singers ever.
in her time she had the best voice in the business. when she lost he voice we lost a treasure.
Linda,Carly and Stevie were my women of the 70s
@@raymondstreet8599 All great, but Linda was in a class of her own and I believe history has born that out.
How many guys back then do you figure forgot their own names listening to her and watching her? She was so hot. And that's before being "hot" was "cool".
What boy didn't have a crush on Linda Ronstadt in the 70s??
Her and Pete Rose both need their just dues paid to them and put in the respective Hall of Fame's!!!!
169 people don't understand music. And vocals. And life.
Back in the day before autotune and loads effects, where raw talent, timing and mind blowing vocal harmonies ruled the stage! That's one special woman!!!
The question that all broken hearted lovers ask.
Jesus, what a talented and gorgeous woman. My first celebrity crush at age 8.
So much talent. She’s one of those people who sounded even better live. How could she get any better? 🙌
Didn't hurt that she had such a great band.
Agreed, sounds great live
@@jackib8113 I've never heard her live
@@troydixon2722 me either i meant live on UA-cam
Linda Ronstadt is the gold standard by which every female singer should be compared. She has had no equal in the last 75 years.
And this song just wouldn't sound the same without Waddy Wachtel on guitar and backing vox. Pure genius.
so sad she can't sing anymore. she was great!
All the great female singers of the rock era had something special about them. But Linda had it all. And her bands were perfect for her.
Just discovering Linda at the young age of 58 and she is wonderful. I wish I'd found her 40 years ago!
The texture and color of the driving vocals here make the performance: Live musicians, acting alive and present in the moment.
Wow! A real band! Playing real Instruments! Singing real harmonies! With no pitch changers or piped in tricks! Rest in peace authenticity.....rest in peace.
Linda is the gold standard, by which all other female singers should be measured.
. . * On October 16, 2013, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced that Ronstadt has been nominated for 2014 induction.
There's nobody better!
Linda...the pop icon of my generation...all our best always.

Linda Ronstadt sung this song trying to explain the perpetual broken hearts in the world, and she did a good job.
the song hillary has been humming -
David John Lutz In regards to HELLary, I'm belting, "You're No Good!"

I'm just sorry that Secretary Clinton suffered the proverbial death by a thousand right-wing paper cuts over 25 years. Talk radio since the mid90's absolutely hammered her, to rile up moronic listeners, which attracted the sponsors $$$. The accumulated hate was *far* greater than any misdeeds she's ever committed.
christopher jones Your reply is a classic piece of unsubstantiated nonsense. I could Google just about anyone in the public eye (politics, sports, music, etc.) and append the word "scandal", and it would vomit out links from bogus websites and dubious bloggers who are simply cranking out click bait.
*Are you still in high school?* How much education do you have? Ever taken a course in journalism, critical writing or American Government?
My opening comment above merely bemoaned the fact that Mrs. Clinton has unfairly been a lightening rod for money-driven conservative media for more years than you've probably been alive. I will repeat my main point: *The accumulated hate over 20+ years is far greater than any misdeeds she's ever committed.*
The strum in the beginning of the song is so recognizable now!
AS FEMALE SINGERS GO IT"S PATSY CLINE AND LINDA , BOTH HAVE THAT EFFORTLESS DELIVERY .
What a beautiful singer, her voice is from the gods. Loved her forever and I'm 63 years old...her music will forever be in my life.
I am in a sense rediscovering Linda. As a young man I always thought she was a great, but now at 55 I think she is incredible and I'm enjoying her music again with a new appreciation. It saddens me to know she can't sing anymore as she has Parkinson's, however we'll always have her amazing music to enjoy.
Same feeling here
At 53, I am in the same boat with you.
me too i am 57 i saw her 2 times in houston her voice in person gave me chills
I’m 71! I love Linda!
Linda Ronstadt was one of the greats of the 1970s.
In fact, she helped define the era.
+George Vreeland Hill The greatest of all during 70s & 80s
I got it. "She's Gone." Hall & Oates. 1973. Bingo! Lived through another crisis.
some of my earliest musical memories first grade 1979, Crestline Elementary, Hatselle, Alabama, running around on the playground singing Linda Ronstadt
I WAS LOVED BY LINDA MANY MANY TIMES EVEN THOUGH IT ALL IN MY HEAD
Ahhh, Linda, you have always been loved; we grow older, but your artistry stays fresh and young.
Linda, you are too good, your songs are too good as well, what can I say? Honoured to be one of your fans
Lovely lady/pipes! 🎤 💃... 70's 😁
What a wonderful, brilliant talent! Between Linda and Mary Travers we were blessed in the 60s and 70s.
I love you Linda and I always will. You were one of the best!! I was smitten by you in the early 1970's when I was just a boy. God bless you and keep you always and forever!
When Will I Be Loved? Always Linda, always. Your voice....WOW!
Wow remember when singers came out and SANG!
What a gorgeous creature in voice and form. Hubba! Hubba!
Exactly 👌💔😄🌹🎤🎶🎵🎵love Linda Ronstadt & this song was written for me ! JS!💙✌
Amazing gift she had
God Damn, Christ A'mighty!.And then some!.
What's great about Linda is her ability to perform live & sound like the studio recording.
She can really belt....and it only gets louder....gradually
When God wants perfection, He listens to LINDA!
The VERY FIRST RECORD I EVER BOUGHT! And STILL MY FAVORITE!!!! This BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED LADY is STILL the AWESOMENESS of PERFECTION!!!
Her work is the epitome of class, talent and soul... not to mention EXTREMELY EASY on the EYES!!!! If her heart is as big as her songs... she will understand it was HER MUSIC that kept a battered teen from killing himself in 1980. THANK YOU Ms. Ronstadt.... it's been an awesome ride!
Best show ever. Ever!
Hats off to these incredible backing musicians / singers. Band couldn't be any tighter or better. Every last one of 'em GREAT.
Yes, indeed! Ms.Romano, I must say I agree!
DAMN STRAIGHT!. Professional musicians of the highest calibre!.Magnificent, no other word!.
Back in the day, I had a terrible crush on this wonderful lady.
One of the best female singers of the 70's!
You really missed out if you never saw Linda in concert. She was absolutely jaw dropping unbefuckinglievable.
I saw her in 76' in the benefit for Jerry Brown tour with Jackson Brown, David Lindley (RIP), Andrew Gold band, and Eagles with Dan Fogelberg on piano. I wish I could have seen her again since her set was kind of short.
Linda, have always been loved-by every male who ever saw you sing.
Man, she was something else. Plenty of girl singers and pop/rock females. Linda is from a different talent planet altogether.
I will always love Linda's music..she has the sound track of my life in her songs..such special memories.
Linda is the greatest singer.
Great song and fabulous voice. To have that voice now silenced by Parkinson's Disease is an unfair ending to such a gift. Having seen her perform, I feel truly grateful. Lots of love Linda from a grateful fan. God bless
One of the greatest voices of all time!!
I was fortunate enough to have seen her live in the 1980s at San Diego state university open air amphitheater, I still have my concert stub along with the other 170 other stubs
The greatest voice in popular entertainment for the last half of the 20th century.
Linda had an amazing voice and doesn't get the credit she deserves. She was also gorgeous.
Daryl C. Jackson - She was awarded the National Medal of the Arts.
best performer ever with the most beautiful voice
tight jeans, high boots, sleeveless top reveals beautiful arms, gorgeous face and hair. oh, and the song's pretty good. oh, the 70s!
Queen of hi-fidelity Vinyl and when Linda Ronstadt sang in concert she could knock you out or melt a tough guys heart. Love the bands she assembled.
'Believability'...That is what I always feel and hear whenever I hear this great woman sing a song. You just simply 'believe' her...no matter what she is singing about...you believe her. Not very many performers out there...especially in today's music world, where the same holds true. However, this is what separates a 'legend' from a 'flash in the pan'. And Miss Linda Ronstadt, is in no doubt, a 'legend' in every sense of the word.
Thank you, Linda, for your wonderful character and humanity. It takes people of strength to stand up to the corrupt.
Tremendously warm and powerful vocals. The center of it all - Linda never seemed to like all the attention but she sure as hell loved to sing.
Linda moved out, I moved in. Hart Ave, Venice, CA 1967. Lucky to spend some time with her on the porch. The old house is still there. Fond memories of my favorite.
You,ve always been Loved...by all of us fans !!! U always been HOT STUFF !!!
Amazing voice... and was she a doll.
LR was a "hottie." Just like Tina Louise (Ginger on Gillagan's Isle). Her voice was powerful and her masterpieces were soft ballads with acoustical instruments.
What a band! She always surrounded herself with the best. Love it
Linda is a music Goddess. Her voice may be stilled...but it will never be silenced. Thanks Linda for all the beautiful music. Blessed Be...
We will always love you Linda.
You will be loved forever!
That concert should have been turned into a live album.
Hitting the lyric and the melody like a hammer. Ronstadt was just a great vocalist. Loved her rock and roll root music best of all but hell yeah - I'd listen to her sing the phone book.
Simply the best country girl ever💓
Not only was she awesome, her backup vocalists/instrumentalists were the shit. Love this!
Her vocals are so great, she doesn't really need backup vocalists. That's like supporting a singer. A singer as great as Linda, she an do it on her own IMHO.
She's just the best
Do some justice....put her into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!
They heard you. She was inducted in 2014.
Wow the harmonies at the end were breathtaking
One of the best songs and singers of the 70s..Linda has such powerful voice and stage presence...They sure don't produce singers like this anymore.
I used to sit and cry to all her sad songs-she sang just how I felt then, and later too
I am practicing with an Eagles tribute band currently, and we are supposedly adding a Linda Ronstadt singer too, so I will be reliving those great songs!!
Waddy never ages.
Classic!
Saw her a few times at SPAC in Saratoga in the 70's. She lead off for James Taylor at the time. We didn't know what we had.
The most buetiful woman in Rock and rock....period.
George Martin - But not limited to rock. She could do anything, and did.
Linda... we will love you forever ~ even without a note coming from your vocals.
May G-D bless you and give you courage and strength.
Please DO NOT GIVE UP.
OMG she was amazing ❤ .. 🤞tonight 🙌
ONE GREAT SINGER THANKS,Keith
ALL MY life looking thought i found him
Her was awesome... Loved it since from boyhood till I die...
No matter what you thought of RONSTADT once you heard and saw her live - you were transformed. Especially tough guys. Gal just looked and sang better than all them other girls.
I was at this Concert in Atlanta, Ga. I was only 16 on a School night Ahhhhhh!!!!
Had the privilege of seeing her in concert twice and came away from both convinced I had heard and seen the greatest female vocalist of all time. I still believe that. It absolutely broke my heart when Parkinson's robbed her of her voice. Thank god for CD's and video.
Linda sang so many covers....better than many of the original. A heart and soul, wide voice range, sassy brash, emotion bringing performance. Super hot back then.
Wow--those first five words... What a set of pipes!!!
The 1970s wouldn’t have been the 70s without Linda Ronstadt. A treasure!
The best RR singer there ever was
my girl has that 80's flair
Brings back so many great memories.
