It doesn't surprise me you need wheel spacers. I think that's the one thing people overlook when they install these leveling kits. Everyone is concerned about tire height, not taking into consideration that taller tires usually bring additional width with them. I bet that upper control arm clearance is almost non existent. Truck looks great, though. Probably don't need terribly large spacers to eliminate the rub. My 2020 F150 came with P275/55 R20's, though I plan on swapping them for LT285/60 R20s after it's leveled. I'm putting 295/70/18's on my 2018 with Bilstien 5100 leveling struts on top notch. Going to be running 18x9 wheels with 0 offset/5 backspacing. From what I've found, it should work with minor plastic trimming. Going from stock +44 offset to 0 pushes the wheel out 1.68". Should clear everything in the back fine but the poke creates wider turn radius so it'll probably rub the plastic in fender well. We'll see soon!

Very nice looking truck, sir. I'm trying to decide between 18" vs 20" wheels for some 34" tires. What are the pros and cons of one wheel size over the other?
im going to give you an honest answer, id take my advice with a grain of salt....i like 18s due to there being more tire with the truck but you may be able to get a bigger tire with 20s and it would be better due to possibly being lighter than the same size on an 18. the lighter the tire the better it is for the truck(gas mileage and power wise)
@@jeremyjones3286 finding the money for it is the hardest part to me. Everything I've done but the tires, bull bar and floor mats have been under $50 each.
@@jeremyjones3286 they were long enough but just barely. You need at least 6 full turns and I believe I got 8. But you could just get longer lugs, they have a longer end to screw on between the rim. I'm still debating on getting them just to be on the safer side. I will say I've put probably about 1500miles on them and have no issues so far. Just make sure you tighten with the star pattern and go back and retighten after 50-100miles or so.
Looks AWESOME! That is what I want to do with my new 2020. I heard you have to have the transmission re-programmed after putting larger diameter tires on it or it will start shifting funny, Did you have to do that? Have you had any shifting issues?
That is entirely false. Now if you go up crazy then yes absolutely you'd have to. Just a level, up to 35in tires its not a worry. At 37in id look into changing the gears.
Dude that looks awesome! I’m assuming on those OEM 18”s you weren’t getting any poke or they were flush with the wheel well? Did u end up putting hub/wheel spacers? If so, what size did you go with? I’m asking because I have a 2021 on the way with 18”s and I want to add the same size tire. I would also have 2.5 level kit in the front. Nice ride brother!
That’s a great looking truck! I have the same year/trim/color and also thinking of installing a level kit. My question is, will a 2.5 in level kit help to avoid the rubbing? And what’s you MPG? Thanks in advance.
No, actually that would probably make it worse as it would push the uca out just a little more at that angle. After the video I looked into it more and I have about 1/4in. between the tire and uca, it's just bumps at a turn I believe it rubs. I have 1/2spacers coming Monday so I can drive it again. I just wouldnt get such a wide tire, mine is 11.6. Anything under that and there wouldnt be any issues at all. As for the mpg I havent driven it but a couple miles getting it aligned due to the rubbing n not wanting to mess with anything but before the tires it didnt really change much at all. I maybe lost 1-1.5mpg if that with the level n air dam removal.
If money isnt that big of a deal if I were you I would just go with a 3 or 4inch lift instead of a level. The full kit comes with new uca and then prolly wouldnt be an issue at all.
Thanks for your response, I just got back from Discount Tire and they are telling me that with a 2.5 in leveling kit I can put 295/70 r18... in fact he showed me Nitto Ridge Grappler. I’m tempted to go to a different DT and ask the same question...
O they will fit, mine fit it's just 1/4in from uca and rubs on bumps with turning. When discount was done with mine he said good to go no rubbing....yea ok. But the place was great n their life time stuff with the tires are a deal. Look into 285/75. U get .5 more on the height, .4 less on the width n only .3 on the diameter so u still shouldnt be rubbing at all but gives you more of a gap for the uca.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 Do you know if adding UCA would fix the rubbing issue. I have a 2016 F150 FX4 with a 2 1/2" ProComp level kit running stock 275/65/18. I'm planning on putting bigger tires after these wear out.

I have a 18 5.0 issue playlist on my channel if you would like to take a look. Prior to 17 any engine would have less problems, starting in 17 the 3.5 started having more issues, starting in 18 the 5.0 started having more issues. Do you have the specs for the wheel (offset , backspacing ) - I’m putting 2.5 leveling kit and looking for wheels but worried about fitment .- I need the wheel with negative off set to poke out a little as I have fenders flares
This is stock wheels, the rims would depend in the size of the tires and if you dont want rubbing. The best place to look is custom offsets gallery. It's a fitment gallery, you put in your year, level/ lift, size tires and it'll show what fits
WickedF150 any rubbing after the spacers went on? They were 1/2” correct? Would you run the same tire size on a rim with a -12 offset instead of the +44 of the stock rim? That’s about a 2” poke compared to stock wheels.
@@flyboynextdoor nope, no issues after adding the spacers. I believe they were 1/2in yes. But no definitely could not run that size with a negative offset unless you cut/trim a good bit. With that size on a level youd be pushing it at a +12offset

im going to give you an honest answer, id take my advice with a grain of salt....i like 18s due to there being more tire with the truck but you may be able to get a bigger tire with 20s and it would be better due to possibly being lighter than the same size on an 18. the lighter the tire the better it is for the truck(gas mileage and power wise)
@@WICKEDAUTO1 what size are your rims?
@@hefferss2k668 mine are 18s. They are the factory sport rims.
Looks bad ass! What level brand level kit did you go with? And spacers
Thanks man!! I had the 2in moto fab level and coyote 1/2in off American trucks
This looks great, man. I like the look with the factory wheels. What size spacer did you end up going with?
I went with a 1/2in spacer. I'm afraid with an inch I would then be rubbing my crash bars and wheel wells. So far everything is great.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 thanks for the reply, bud. Really enjoy watching your truck evolve. I need to find some $$$ for upgrades to mine.
@@jeremyjones3286 finding the money for it is the hardest part to me. Everything I've done but the tires, bull bar and floor mats have been under $50 each.
Were the stock studs long enough? Sorry for all the questions. Any info would be appreciated.
Would running a different upper control make a difference. I have the same truck. Love the setup! I just don't have alot of faith in spacers...
It could yes absolutely. Those spacers are just a cheaper route
Looks great!
Do you think I can run 285/75/R17 without a leveling kit? 4x4 XLT-2017
At 37in id look into changing the gears.
what did it do to your speedo and gas milage?
They look really nice! Did you have to get a level kit for the front ?
Yes, had a 2in level and 1/2 spacers for them to fit without rubbing the uca
@@WICKEDAUTO1 thank you
Any feedback on the road noise vs stock?
Dude that looks awesome! I’m assuming on those OEM 18”s you weren’t getting any poke or they were flush with the wheel well? Did u end up putting hub/wheel spacers? If so, what size did you go with? I’m asking because I have a 2021 on the way with 18”s and I want to add the same size tire. I would also have 2.5 level kit in the front. Nice ride brother!
Did you end up deciding on what size spacer?
Good set up, hows driving on the highway? Thanks
Is the truck lifted or leveled? Looks really nice.
A 2in motofab level. It has settled since to where I have just a little rake. Thank you!
gotta ask, whats the height from the ground to roof? maybe ill get this set up if it will fit in my garage... but looks nice man
Is there an update video with spacers? It looks really good. I’m gonna do the same. Thank you
295 fit on those stock rims? What's the widest you can go?
Nice! What size spacers did you install? I'm on the market for a leveling kit and new tire/wheels. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
I believe it was 1/2in spacer from American trucks
@@WICKEDAUTO1 fastest response ever on UA-cam.
Im getting ready to install same size but in a michelin defender.....i like smooth and quite! I also have a 2"leveling kit installed, think i will have any rubbing issues?
did u have any issues?
What kind of mpg are you now down to with this set up? What was it before. I avg 23 all week long to and from work. Im so afraid to get bigger tires and rims and then suffer my mpg go to like 18 or lower.
Well in that I only hit 19-20 but with the level and tires it went down to 15-16
@@WICKEDAUTO1 oh wow!! Damn,.I can't afford to drive around with those numbers. My wallet would suffer heavily. I drive far for work each day. Plus my wife would kill me if she new I was pulling more money out just for gas,..all due to larger tires etc. I guess I'll up grade my stereo system at least lol. Thx for the feedback man. Love your truck!
@@mikel6787 no problem! And thank you I really appreciate that!!! You could always grab a pair of nitto terra grappler g2 in 6 ply, they wouldnt be anywhere nearly as bad.
What spacer size did you end up having to go with?
I run previously cooper Discovery very nice looking but very short life out of these tires, switched to toyos waht a difference
Is that a 5.0 ? I had a 5.0 that was a 2017 it was great but the 2018 to 2020 has a oil consumption problem and some kind of knock so Iv been looking at the 3.5 eco boost
He had the 5.0 and had major problems with it and then he got this truck after a long dispute with dealer. This one is the 2.7 EcoBoost
Spacers will make it look more aggressive anyways.. I think i'm going that route with the same size lift and tires.
Question - have you done any recalibration of the speedometer/shifting points etc?
Yes, with forscan
The new Cooper tires made your truck look more aggressive and I like it a lot. I have a 2017 F150 XLT Sport with no lift kit and I want to change my OEM 265/60 R18 to either a 275/70 R18 or 285/70 R18 using the same wheel. Is that doable? Recommendations?
285/70r18 fits a 4x4 no problem not sure about the rear drives tho
Check out CZ video on it
What motor and gearing does your truck have? Can you feel the weight of the new tires?
It's the 5.0 with 3.55 and yes you can definitely feel the weight of the tires. Can really tell with power and mpg!
I’m getting these installed next week, along with a 2.5 lvl and 2 inch spacers
Just so your aware, you will have to cut a lot to fit that
@@WICKEDAUTO1 because of the spacers? I’ve seen multiple people run this tire with a 2.5 lvl and no issues. Stock rims.
You think 1/2” spacers will do the trick for this set up??
So what would you recommend for tire size? I have the same leveled truck.
Looks f*ckin awesome. Simple clean and aggressive looking. Nice job. Plan on doing the same thing. 2” level with either 33” or 34” tires.
Beautiful truck! I want to go with the same setup as yours but wanted to know if you had any problems with gearing or any mpg decrease? Mine is a 2016 sport 2.7 ecoboost
I definitely lost mpg, about 5-6 so getting about 17 highway, 15 combined but with my 19 2.7 I got 20-21 highway.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 thanks and what about the road noise are they loud?
@@fabiog2736 there is definitely some noise to them but I wouldnt say they are too loud no.
2019 F150 XLT Crew Cab...so I could run a 2in Southern Truck level and 285/75/R18 just fine without trimming or spacers? And would I need a trans/speedo recal?
Truck looks great 👍 did you have to use the leveling kit to avoid rubbing or was it just for aestheics? Have you put it on a ramp?
looks great. im trying to decide what size im going with
Does it fit in your garage?
Was there any rubbing once it settled? And are those the stock wheels?
They are stock wheels and I needed a 1/2in spacer due to slight rubbing in the uca
Great looking truck with the new tires. How has the F150 been? I keep seeing horror stories about F150 problems. I’m thinking of buying a used one but I’m spooked.
I have a 18 5.0 issue playlist on my channel if you would like to take a look. Prior to 17 any engine would have less problems, starting in 17 the 3.5 started having more issues, starting in 18 the 5.0 started having more issues. Can absolutely get any engine without issues but those are more likely to have problems than the 2.7 no matter what year if that fits your needs. This truck was a lemon law for me, I now have a 2.7 with zero issues and love it!!
what max size tire can you put on the stock rim without spacers? +44 offset
I have a 2018 F-150 sport with a 2.5 mammoth leveling kit, I’m wanting to put 285/70r18 rigid grapplers on my stock wheels like yours they equal out to a 34x11.5 will I be able to run them with no rubbing??
Do they make alot of noise while riding
New tires look sick
What were the original size wheels ? My 2016 lariat 2wd looks ugly with the tiny tires
Did your acceleration get effected?
Question, has your gas mileage been affected by adding the larger tires and level kit? I have a 2022 eco-boost and wondering if adding the larger tires and level will affect gas mileage
Yes it does. Varies from tire to tire but probably loose 2-4 mpg. Speedometer will be off a bit too
Hi you mentioned in one of your previous videos about a rattle that you had in your 5.0Just wondering if ever figured it out and if it was fixed? I believe my 2019 is having the same issue
Nope, never fixed. Returned as lemon law, other videos on it
Do you have the specs for the wheel (offset , backspacing ) - I’m putting 2.5 leveling kit and looking for wheels but worried about fitment .- I need the wheel with negative off set to poke out a little as I have fenders flares
Any lift kit ? And what year truck
Cooper is a great american tire! Ive bought 3 sets of cooper
What size wheel spacers did you need?
are those your stock rims? looks great by the way.!
Yes they were!
@@WICKEDAUTO1 I'm surprised they fit the tire on the 7.5 inch rims. I got new rims because of the off set and rim width to match the tire but it's good to know it works both ways. How are the st pros? I'm going with the st maxx myself because I do more highway travel and was trying to avoid noisy tires.
Could you please link to the 1/2” spacer you used? Thanks for the review.

Any rubbing during suspension compression??
Yes, that is when the tires would rub the uca. So I got 1/4 or 1/2in spacers from American trucks and did great for 2yrs before they were sold
Are they pretty quiet or do they make a little bit of noise when you're driving
They definitely have some road noise but it's not the worst I've ever heard. After a week you barely notice it at all
Good info you answered a lot of questions.
Did you change your rear end after the bigger tires?
No I didnt and mileage was crap. Only was getting about 15.5-16 combined
looks awesome like the white letters outside
Man that looks awesome I wish I had the 295s on mine for sure will be getting them when the 275/70s I have wear out
I love them except for the gas mileage lol but if you get the 295/70 you will need a 1/2in spacer. You should be able to get away with a 285/75 no issue but cant say 100%. 295/70 is 34.2/11.6 the 285/75 is 34.8/11.2
WickedF150 I like the extra height on the 295s but maybe even a 33x12.5 would be good
I plan to get some slightly wider wheels not much though because Maine has strict laws on tire poke
@@Amp247FPV with a 12.5 I'm sure you would need an offset of some sort whether it be rims or a spacer. With my size and the 1/2in I'm flush with the wheel well.
I know this is an old video. With that said, can you fit a 34 inch tire in the spare tire well?
did this throw off your speedometer ? it does the truck automatically adjust
Yes, different size tires definitely change the speedometer calculations and u do have to change it yourself. You could get a shop to do it or just use forscan.
I want this set up but have a low parking garage at work. Can you measure your overall height?
Actually did that for another subscriber and I believe it came out to 6'7 or 6'8 at the top.
How well would these tires perform in winter under rain and snow ? I think they are beautiful but the wife will be driving the truck with the little guy have to make sure it’s safe and easy for her to run
I think they did really well in both! I would trust them on the truck.
Hey Bro have you taken the truck offroad at all after you installed the spacers?
I have not but actually planning to this weekend!
@@WICKEDAUTO1 cool I was wondering if they rubbed at all while on the trail, I was thinking about going with the same Tire setup
If you do go off-road you should make a video
@@enriquereyes8394 I definitely plan on it! My advice would be go just a little thinner and a hybrid tire instead of straight M/T. Wont risk the rubbing/need for the spacer and save yourself some power/mpg with a lighter one.

Running factory 2017 raptor rims and tires are 315/70/17.
No level no rubbing.
That's awesome, and I'd love to do the same, but I'm just wondering what's different about your truck that keeps yours from rubbing without a level or lift? That tire is 34.6" tall and 12.6" wide. All the other videos are saying those will rub on a stock F150...
Have no idea why they don’t. Maybe since I bought the rims and tires used and are not at brand new height on tire. When it’s time to get new tires I’ll find out when I leave discount tire.
