As soon as I finished this game, all I wanted was endless cozy storylines/activities to do in the town. I could have lived in Haven Springs forever. And it would have been totally healthy and normal to play forever.
I've watched a bunch of playthroughs of this already, and yours is by far my favorite so far. I don't think you have anything to worry about with taking too long on reading things. A lot of the charm of the LiS games comes from background details and story, especially in this one. Also, a tip for the mechanics: Whenever you see a little white circle glowing next to a person or object, it means there's an emotion there you can read. Some things have emotions tied to them that don't even have the circle. It's usually good to do a scan of each area with your powers if you can remember.
Watching playthroughs of this game is totally my thing at the moment and i've only just stumbled across yours, i'll definitely watch the heck out of all of it. I love seeing how you connect with the game's themes and Alex. I feel like out of all the LiS games, Alex seems like the most realistic & relatable character and her design and her mannerisms are so incredible and believable. Anyway, looking forward to getting through your playthrough of this!

I always love how quickly you engage and empathize with new characters. Plus, the tangents? The neverending thirst? Perfection. And very on brand :P

Jeez I get my copy of the game no more than a few days ago and come to find out two(Marz and Tofu) of my favorite gamer reactors are playing this game. He definitely groomed her with his constant offer of drinks when she was clearly underage. 1:34:55 Yes yes you do offer a unique(and bubbly) experience even with your occasional tangents and that's the main reason why I enjoy your uploads.
I saw your post on Twitter about people not watching this bc they don't like this series or saying you 'don't deserve' to play this game. And you already know this but THAT'S A LOAD OF BS, it's literally just a videogame that has nothing to do with the other entries in the series. I love how excited you are about this and I hope you keep that same energy bc you deserve to be happy when making and putting out content! Those guys are just assholes for the sake of being rude, but so many people who previously didn't like this series are loving your playthrough bc of how invested YOU are. so please don't get discouraged, and do what makes you happy :)
I’ve watched a handful of playthroughs and played the game 4 times for myself. (Currently doing a “bad decision” playthrough and it’s killing me). This first episode always pulls at my heart strings and the time that you spent reading the journal and texts give so much background to Alex’s character so I’m so happy you found them. During the scene on the roof with Gabe, I chose to tell Gabe about Alex’s powers on my first 2 playthroughs. I decided to tell him about Alex’s past on the third and it truly broke me. Such an underrated choice and I think it’s actually my preferred choice there??? Both tie well back into Alex and the narrative themes. On a side note, I love that you’re crushing on Ryan because I feel he gets overshadowed by Steph in so many playthroughs. He’s always had my heart ❤ Such a beautiful game and I can’t wait to see the rest of your playthrough!
Use your powers more Tofu! You can get a LOT of insight into the characters, anytime their circle is bigger and has a little aura around it, you can read their emotions.
It's a common thing with Life is Strange games. Some folk get emotionally sidetracted with other things and totally forget about abilities the character has.

Re record players, if you're still looking for one, I'd strongly endorse Victrola's Wooden 8-in-1 Turntable (w/Bluetooth). It's a beautiful retro console of dark mahogany that lets you play vinyl LPs, 45s, CDs, cassettes, radio and playlists off your phone via wireless! Nice price point too, and pretty respectable sound (which you could always augment with speakers). :)

These games are always so dope to watch people play. After watching Eurogamers playthru of this I've been watching everybody and their grandmas playthru. everyone is so unique with their choices it's awesome.
UGHH I’M SO HAPPY RN :) Your excitement for this game is making me excited, bc this game is so good and I was worried you wouldn’t play it since you didn’t finish LiS2. Can’t wait for future episodes! Oh man, I knew you’d compare Gabe to Jesse, their hair even looks kind of similar haha. And they gave Gabe the Jesse treatment too, killing him in a quick and shocking way after getting to bond with him in such a short time.😔 Ryan definitely made the right call there, the impact of the boulder would’ve instantly killed Gabe and his weight pulling Alex over the cliff was too heavy for Ryan to pull him up in less than 2 seconds before the rockslide would kill all of them. He’s a park ranger so he’d obviously been trained to think quickly in that type of situation, but that was his best friend and I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for him.
ALSO PLEASE take your time gathering your info with these games. the way you read up on things and educated deductions is the main reason I watch you. Never dim your insightfulness for others, especially on YOUR channel. yasss Queen T. lol.

1:34:14 So, I only just finished True Colors last week... I hadn't updated my PC since 2014 and when this game was released there was a worldwide shortage of graphics cards. BUT ANYWAY! I had a brain tumour 13 years ago, and ever since the operation, ANY kind of elevated adrenaline levels makes my leg shake like crazy, even if I don't "feel" nervous in my mind. And it happens over the tiniest things (like when I showed my dad a funny youtube video that I REALLY thought he'd appreciate... niche humour) BUT ANYWAY! I used to drink away the nerves, but I didn't think it appropriate when I was in a musical theatre show in a venue with a capacity of nearly 900, so I got prescribed Propranalol, to take as and when necessary (I get round to my point eventually)

The part of CO that Haven springs is meant to be in is near Maroon Bells. A place that is like stepping into a fairytale. Truly one of the most beautiful places in the US.

Of course! Both Katy Bentz (voice actress of Stephanie Gingrich) & the character of Steph herself are LESBIAN. Plus, in order to get the Sapphire Gem from her successfully during the LARP, Alex has to prey upon Steph's feelings for her by asking to MARRY HER, at which point Steph will politely decline (although this is purely because child Ethan is present under his heroic guise of Thaynor, the Monster Slayer), however reading Steph's emotions will tell you that she willingly ACCEPTS Alex's PROPOSAL (Just not with Ethan around, for obvious saucy reasons) should you decide to romance Steph over Ryan by giving her a gold rose during the Spring Festival.
@@Blazingstoke Many players didn't notice that the game was nudging you towards choosing Stephanie over Ryan, although our favorite tree cop is a bestie himbo, regardless. That is, unless you pick the wrong decisions at the Council Meeting that cause Ryan to side with his father Jed over Alex, as Steph is the ONLY character in the entire game to 99% side with Alex. The lone exception is, of course, unless you decide to remove Charlotte's anger, which gets even Steph to storm out in a huff when you viciously snap at her & Ryan as a result of absorbing Charlotte's blind rage, although Steph still earnestly attempts to apologize later on in the game, however Steph will still decide to leave Haven by herself if you don't pick her as your romance option after the fact. Even so, no matter which of the two you romance, Alex has the choice to either stay in Haven or leave to travel the world with the romantic partner of her choosing if enough good decisions are made (The happiest ending). However, if the player's made enough poor decisions, the majority of the townsfolk - Ryan included - will subsequently loathe Alex enough to side with Jed over her during the Council Meeting, meanwhile Steph soon thereafter sadly departs from Haven thoroughly disappointed (The worst ending).
it was so funny how you agonised over Alex drinking as an underage, I used to drink a lot when i was underaged so i never understood how other people made such a big fuss about it. But about Isaac, i deffo feel he was way older than her, maybe in his twenties. Possibly a groomer with his constant offers of alcoholic beverage. bruh. smh.

But I think most people see this as a "girls game". Most boys or "man" play it just for the easy platinum trophy. So, I done so too.... but while playing them games it touched me. Its a feeling I can't even describe. I love all the games and played them all many times. 1+2+ Before the Storm. Now I'm very excited to watch your play! I take Propranolol, too! Along with Primidone and Citalopram. In addition to Depression and Anxiety, I have Essential Tremor. It's a neurological disorder that causes shakes in the hands and feet. I think Life is Strange: True Colors is shaping up to be the best in the series. Regardless of how people feel about Before the Storm, at least it gave us Steph and I love how DontNod has incorporated things from that game, despite being from a different developer.

best life is strange by a mile... I don't get it why some people don't like this, best characters, best plot and what's most important your decicions actually matter. I marathoned this through yesterday and absoulutely loved it.

I have been waiting for you to play this Game, this Game is absolutely Amazing and I love pretty much all of the Characters (and as a Coloradan myself I will say they did pretty well on the Colorado Scenery!) 1:34:14 So, I only just finished True Colors last week... I hadn't updated my PC since 2014 and when this game was released there was a worldwide shortage of graphics cards. BUT ANYWAY!
I had a brain tumour 13 years ago, and ever since the operation, ANY kind of elevated adrenaline levels makes my leg shake like crazy, even if I don't "feel" nervous in my mind. And it happens over the tiniest things (like when I showed my dad a funny youtube video that I REALLY thought he'd appreciate... niche humour)

I used to drink away the nerves, but I didn't think it appropriate when I was in a musical theatre show in a venue with a capacity of nearly 900, so I got prescribed Propranalol, to take as and when necessary (I get round to my point eventually)

The part of CO that Haven springs is meant to be in is near Maroon Bells. A place that is like stepping into a fairytale. Truly one of the most beautiful places in the US.

I managed to guess Steph's jukebox selection correctly; a couple weeks later I woke up in the middle of the night wondering if she'd chosen the song she did to flirt with Alex...
Of course! Both Katy Bentz (voice actress of Stephanie Gingrich) & the character of Steph herself are LESBIAN. Plus, in order to get the Sapphire Gem from her successfully during the LARP, Alex has to prey upon Steph's feelings for her by asking to MARRY HER, at which point Steph will politely decline (although this is purely because child Ethan is present under his heroic guise of Thaynor, the Monster Slayer), however reading Steph's emotions will tell you that she willingly ACCEPTS Alex's PROPOSAL (Just not with Ethan around, for obvious saucy reasons) should you decide to romance Steph over Ryan by giving her a gold rose during the Spring Festival.

@@Blazingstoke Many players didn't notice that the game was nudging you towards choosing Stephanie over Ryan, although our favorite tree cop is a bestie himbo, regardless.
That is, unless you pick the wrong decisions at the Council Meeting that cause Ryan to side with his father Jed over Alex, as Steph is the ONLY character in the entire game to 99% side with Alex.
The lone exception is, of course, unless you decide to remove Charlotte's anger, which gets even Steph to storm out in a huff when you viciously snap at her & Ryan as a result of absorbing Charlotte's blind rage, although Steph still earnestly attempts to apologize later on in the game, however Steph will still decide to leave Haven by herself if you don't pick her as your romance option after the fact.
Even so, no matter which of the two you romance, Alex has the choice to either stay in Haven or leave to travel the world with the romantic partner of her choosing if enough good decisions are made (The happiest ending).
However, if the player's made enough poor decisions, the majority of the townsfolk - Ryan included - will subsequently loathe Alex enough to side with Jed over her during the Council Meeting, meanwhile Steph soon thereafter sadly departs from Haven thoroughly disappointed (The worst ending).

it was so funny how you agonised over Alex drinking as an underage, I used to drink a lot when i was underaged so i never understood how other people made such a big fuss about it. But about Isaac, i deffo feel he was way older than her, maybe in his twenties. Possibly a groomer with his constant offers of alcoholic beverage. bruh. smh.

Nice, I'm happy to see you play this. Loved the other parts (also Before the storm) too. The LIS Games are highly underated I guess. They are great! But I think most people see this as a "girls game". Most boys or "man" play it just for the easy platinum trophy. So, I done so too.... but while playing them games it touched me. Its a feeling I can't even describe. I love all the games and played them all many times. 1+2+ Before the Storm. Now I'm very excited to watch your play! I don't know if you already know this but I just wanted to point it out in case you want to listen to the song.
Watching this again after playing through the game just hits different.
I take Propranolol, too! Along with Primidone and Citalopram. In addition to Depression and Anxiety, I have Essential Tremor. It's a neurological disorder that causes shakes in the hands and feet. I think Life is Strange: True Colors is shaping up to be the best in the series. Regardless of how people feel about Before the Storm, at least it gave us Steph and I love how DontNod has incorporated things from that game, despite being from a different developer.
My mistake, this is Deck Nine, not DontNod. Still cool, though.
