I’m like snare rush? You mean a buzz roll, right? Then i looked it up and was like maybe I’ll just stfu now. Been playing for 30 years and never heard the term before 😂
@@whyhatestrangersno worries :) I'm not sure who invented the phrase but it mostly came from Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares and their 'impossible' beats.

First off Dave Grohl is a tub of lard...and second he's not even that great a drummer certainly not good enough to come anywhere close to pulling this off lol
@@EFK76 not sure if Dave could do it or not but he is a beast on the drums, every strike has power and intent. Dude on the video took that power and turned the aggressiveness to 110% I can totally understand the comparisson
Super dope arrangement. I always knew this would be out of my league bc I cant play double pedals and this gentleman proofed my assumption. Outstanding 👏🏾😌
wow, that was amazing as a teenager i stumbled into this song half way through on MTV2 and the video scared the shit out of me. your drums at the part where the screaming starts has just recreated that spine-chill i got the first time, it sounded so evil. amazing work
It blows my mind seeing sequenced drums being played live. It’s always so damn cool, and it makes me wonder why session drummers aren’t more prevalent in electronic music. Like why program drums when there’s people that can do this
Addin to killercrabman's response, you can have sounds with electronic drums that you can't have with a real drummer playing acoustic drums. If the esthetic goal is to sound machine-like, then it's better to have the machine do the music !
@@yvancluet8146 oh yeah I know, ive been producing for like 10 years. There were plenty of times I programmed drums for a song for a band I was in and the drummer was like “who do you think I am?” Lmao But It just sort of hit me that I don’t know of many electronic acts that actually are based around an acoustic kit. I know a few that play electronic drumsets, pretty sure infected mushroom does that. super cool. the 1st thing that came to mind after watching your performance was Ilan Rubin playing a perfect drug as to me it has a similar type vibe to it!
What?? Just... WHAT?!! That... was so fucking amazing. Jesus, dude. I bought the DVD, "The Work of Director Chris Cunningham," literally like 20 years ago. He directed the "Come To Daddy" video, it was on the DVD, and still to this day freaks me out, but I always liked it and the song. You took it to an entirely different level, man. Absolutely phenomenally sick.
That series of dvd's changed my life, made me appreciate music videos so much more (and the directors behind the videos) That Bjork video is still one of my favorites!
*Man, great drumming and a great edit of the original tune, you included all the greatest bits and best of all that off grid bass drum hits at **1:17**, that shit gets me every time. 10/10. Also your kit sounds insanely good, I can’t tell from the hardware, what is it?*
Lovely lively cover that both honours the track and frees your arms for human fun. As someone who plays live versions of digital music all the time, I fully enjoyed this and your set up.
No idea how this ended up in my feed, but that was sick
Bro same 😂
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Perfect song I never would think of covering, but now so obvious. And amazing drumming!
Same!
Same!!!
Me to but shit ima drummer myself ig I was sup to see it, he blasting tho 🤘🏼🔥🫡
I was like "He'll never do the snare rush though."
AND then you nailed it
Yknow what this sounds like, this sounds like a Venetian Snares cover of Aphex Twin lol

I would give up a kidney for a full version of this. Pure aggression, youre playing like your life depends on it. Fits the song perfectly
The Dillinger Escape Plan with Mike Patton do a really good cover of this song.... Chris Pennie kills it.

How is it possible for his drum cover to be angrier than the actual song….?….you sir, are a beast.
probably because real drums are being used here

It's definitely the tattoo...
I literally watch this at least once a day. My daily dose of fuck yeah.
Guess you never heard The Dillinger Escape Plan cover of Come To Daddy??
As a semi-pro drummer and Aphex Twin fan, I am utterly blown away by this video. Serious talent
Skill, talent implies natural ability.

Holy crap, that was amazing. I didn't think it was possible for an actual human to play this track
Dillinger Escape Plan covered it in 2002
This is a sick cover. Aphex Twin is god tier. Never seen anyone play drums to Come To Daddy like that 🔥

In the year of 1997, few could predict that Richard D James would have the metal track of the year
Can't stop listening to this. You improved the song in a way I didn't think could be possible. Cleanest rolls. That breakdown. Chef's kiss.
Been an Aphex for many years. This is astounding performance.
As a long time Richard D James fan. I can say this drummer is a beast!
I cannot tell you how happy I am that this showed up in my feed!! I love this song and you absolutely KILLED it!! 🤘
this needs to go viral. this is legendary.
Besides the drumming being completely amazing those drums sound freaking awesome.

The most unexpected cover from you, but this is awesome!
The world for sure needs more drum covers like this. Respect Ralph!🤙

Unbelievable cover, thank you for this
I've always wanted to see a good interpretation of this, but didn't think I would. This is what it looks like.
This was cathartic! Nice job. I think the song sounds great with these live drums overtop, better even!
What a dark and coooool choice for a drum a cover. Superb!
