Great video of AC, in defense of the dirty window on the observation wheel on Steel Pier you can wash the windows everyday but the elements of the ocean air will always win and they’ll look dirty the next day!!
Lived in AC from 1957 to 1983. The main Trop building was the site of the old Ambassador Hotel. In the craze to get casinos open at that time….they took the Ambassador and stripped it down to its original structural steel… made some repairs and modifications to the iron work….then using that steel skeleton built the main Trop building. At the time I thought it was a novel idea and saved months of construction time. Hope you enjoyed your stay and come back in the summer… the ocean and beach are wonderful!
I only stayed in the West Tower. It was just okay. There was no fridge, only a microwave. But whatever tower you stay in make sure you request a room that’s far from the elevator as it’s very noisy! More advice - request a lower floor and leave an hour before check-out and come back late. The elevators get super busy and you’ll be waiting a long time!
Honestly I’m not sure about the outside part. I do know it’s a bit of a maze once you’re inside. I was there for almost a week and still kept getting confused where to go with all the different towers and hallways lol

There were actually staff on the boardwalk that had fluorescent jackets that said Ambassador. Not quite as safe as police but it’s a start!
