Things i love your channel specifically this video 1. The conversion of degrees 2. The interruptions of musicals and songs in general 3. Aria tasting the food and interrupting 4. How chaotic some parts are with splashes of oil o steam burns. I loved it!! I will definitely be making cabbage recipe
In the fall & winter, I make colcannon at least once a month and it's very similar to the 1st recipe. It's cabbage (or kale), onions, and one carrot sauteed until lightly browned, add canelini beans or chickpeas and then simmered w veggie broth and a little miso. Mix with mashed potatoes. It's like a hug in a bowl.
What about trying meals from different countries and cultures? For example It could be interesting to see what are people eating on Christmas around the world.
i have NEVER been this early to your vids, i think i like this angle more! the footage comes out sharper than normal but it does make me worry of when you fry something next time because you'd have to cook in an angle
For sure going to try the apple one, and probably the cabbage one, too... I also have a hard time with the cabbage, so using it all in one go is a good thing!
When the oil got on your shirt I felt that on a spiritual level. After years of accidents in the kitchen (spilled a pot of pasta sauce down my chest twice as an example) I have accepted that I am my clothing's worst enemy and like how children have separate play clothes I have my own special cooking clothes because I am a terminal clutz 😭
idk what it is maybe my OCD but for some reason the background seems not straight like the camera is tilted I think it is just the way you have the camera this time but you asked I don't think I mind the angle I am not sure though something seems... off
I agree! I'm neurodivergent and I had a hard time with that camera angle too. For me it made everything seemed so offset, along with for it being a little distracting to my disability and hard for me to stay concentrated. 😉
@dance101145 Just to let you know as someone with OCD, it’s not about needing things orderly or tidy. Its okay to want things orderly or organized just so, but that’s not what OCD is. It’s more complicated and diverse with the OCD experiences from the well known contamination to unwanted thoughts and compulsions. The reason I point this out is because it’s important for those who struggle with OCD that their struggle isn’t minimized or misrepresented.
As someone with a diagnosed disorder of OCD I think I can speak on it bothering me @@Grumpyfern28 obviously I have issues with odd numbers and lots of other issues in the way my OCD present itself (how I got my diagnosis) but that is not what I am bringing up here and I do not need to tell you all the ways it affects my everyday life. I literally said maybe it is my OCD maybe it isn't maybe I just don't like the angle but it seems off. Stop assuming people don't have a right to speak about things on the internet when they don't go completely in depth
Awww I loove our vegan queen who is always bringing in the so important Celsius temps haha we so appreciate it!! Tho to be fair Merle ha if it is 50 degrees Celsius I can guarantee you, you're NOT eating soup hahaha more like nibbling on the ice chips ahahah anyway, loved this video, so many awesome ideas !! And it's always so nice to get an appearance from Aria, I just love seeing you guys together it's so cute!! ❤❤❤❤❤💖💖
Those videos make me want to cook so bad, I got an Air fryer and havent touched a real vegetable in a week I'm guilty, that cabbage looks fantastic ouuuh
I like the side view my love. Been watching you for years, meat eater here but you have opened my eyes to alternatives and I recommend you. Love you. And I love the angle 😉
I like this new angle a lot. It is actually more enjoyable to watch, more natural. We can see more of what you are doing. It makes for a very nice, evenly lit background. The focus is more on you in a kitchen and what you are doing, which is lovely visually. What a lovely kitchen. And, no, i can't see how this would make me dizzy. The transitions from close ups while cooking and back to this video make sense and tie the video cuts together. We can actually see what you have on the stove cooking in the background. Nice. Great choice to cut out the fridge. I really enjoyed this new angle. It makes a drastic improvement in your video. In the end, I think you should go with what is more pleasing to you artistically as a creator of your content.Thank you.
I am MOST definitely making that soup! I’m a soup girl from Massachusetts too!! Oooooo you should recreate the 10 veg soup from Panera!!! They took it off the menu and I’m hard core craving it!
that cabbage dish sounds like I need to make it this weekend as we're apparently nearing -10°C where I live and I am ready to not leave my house all week
one way i love to eat cabbage is to just slice it up real small and roast in the oven with oil, salt, garlic, and pepper! if you roast at a higher heat it gets sooo crispy and delicious and i can eat like a LOT of it this way 🙈
Was a bit taken back that your go to first word of phrase was that they look healthy, instead of that they look in anyway tasty/delicious :'D But they definitely look both. But hey, loved the video, and really liked the change in content. Definitely would love to see more videos that are *normal/usual* vegan options, love learning more about vegan cooking and substitutes from you, Merle! Always a joy to see your pup. Whilst I enjoyed being able to have a better shot of your pans, it was a bit off seeing you a bit to the side the whole time, sort of contorted by body at first by habit, thinking that would help lmao. Maybe a mix of both shots for different points of the video?
Merle have you ever had haluski? It’s a polish noodle dish with cabbage and it super easy to veganize! It’s also delicious 😋 you could try vegan halupki too!! (Pigs in a blanket- but like, “beef” wrapped in cabbage, not mini hotdogs in crescent rolls lol)
Please update on the oil on the shirt were you able to get the stain out? In situations like that I usually immediately blot with dish soap mixed w water!
@@MerleONeal oh good that makes me so happy to hear! I love Chappell and I was admiring the shirt before you mentioned it and then devastated when the oil splattered on it
The angle is good! I think you should get a wider lens that way we can see not just your full body, but more of the table as well. I also reccomend positioning the camera slightly lower than you normally would, that way the perspective looks more like what the naked eye sees. Love everything you do girl! ❤️❤️❤️
Baby powder on the oil stain, if you washed it you can still try but it’s better on fresh oil stains. Let it sit for a few hours. Brush off and wash in cold water
What type of cabbage are you getting? I buy cabbage and keep it in the fridge to use a few leaves in salads every few days and it lasts more than 2 weeks. I live in lebanon idk about y'all's produce. Also a bruised cauliflower is still very good to go
I am very partial to a style of apple cinnamon roll that I picked up from a bakery in Seattle called Piroshky Piroshky that kind of gets everyone’s goat their bakers used to make faces at this window in Pike Place market like Nemesis in Resident Evil kind of thing: superb. I got some pretty awesome vegan stuff I’m working on but I’ve also been decked out recently literally and so it’s like doing it on a harder level but yeah whatever. There’s also a moving set of bakers in Seattle that make this most unique and beautiful black sesame kouign aman that looks like a puck of used coal it is so atrociously good and not vegan in Pioneer Square bakeries but definitely would make an interesting likely many afternoons for a not expert baker kouign aman is very tough to bake and mistress right but damn it was lovely and I want it.
As someone who’s from Saudi Arabia I can assure you, you DONT wanna have soup when it’s 50C outside 😆 you will however want lots & lots of watermelon 🍉😋
I feel like Aria and I can be good friends as I really dislike soup and tart apples. I only get soup if it’s free hot snd sour from my Chinese take out. Those hit different

I had to share your soup song with my girlfriend cause that's so me. I'm also a soup gal and she's also not all that into soup but likes the soup I make usually.
Literally could not watch this for more than 30 seconds because of how diagonal the angle is- made me a little woozy honestly. Bummer because the video sounded great…
Both of cabbage and cauliflower you get that wonderful Millard reaction while browning, and it tastes so savoury, deep and delicious. Only problem is the smell while cooking.
