@@LFRJojo this means you have to watch the movie, A Clockwork Orange.
But I think it would trip you out too much, so maybe don't.... if you want to keep your sanity 😀😂👍👊
@@LFRJojo The Vikings raided the British isles and took us back to be slaves.
@@LFRJojo Do Miyavi playing "What's my Name" in NYC. you should do the video 'cause you gotta watch him play. It is just him and his drummer. There is a few backup singers in there, but they might be on a tape. He performs with his drummer usually, but he sounds like a whole band. I think he plays backup on tape in some of his songs and then plays lead over that. Mindblowing performer. Here: ua-cam.com/video/QYXL0OA2K9M/v-deo.html
Crates of oranges on a double flatbed!
"This song must be legendary." Yes. Yes, it is.
Yeah, just a bit!
@@mariocarbone107 1972*
Ya think??
Haha
Let's just say (for the record), the band may be legendary.
It's in the beginning of Thor Ragnorock.
And it's ok to be a fan of both rock and rap. It's called being a music fan.
Beginning AND end of Thor:Ragnarok. Fight vs Surtur and Fight on the bridge.
It's also in School of Rock I think that might be where he heard it since referencing a Jack Black movie.
I'm 62 and raised on rock/prog/metal. I don't get rap and hip hop at all. Not very musical to my ear. More like street poetry with a drum beat attached (rap) and with hip hop I don't hear musicians playing, just programed muzak and voices that have been put through autotune or some other weird effects. I don't like to dance so the "beat" is not important to me.
@@tomvenner6030 Likewise, as I have really tried,, granted their are a few Rap songs that do creep into the soul and move a person to remembering some fleeting thoughts, but most does not make sense to me... I do give Creedence and Respect to these Kids for trying out the music of our generations. and Love seeing it,,, So Often they bring tears to my eyes to Experience the Joy in their souls and they shit themselves to a new dimension.
It’s also in Shrek
John Bonham: drums.
Jimmy Page: guitar.
Robert Plant: vocals.
My man, John Paul Jones on the BASS!
Give love to the silent assassin that is JPJ!!!!
John Paul Jones somewhat under valued for his talents
John Bonham...bonham....bonham....bonham ;p
Who is that on Guitar???? Lol. James Patrick Page.
@@43bumpy Jimmy Page is a absolute legend.
“Who is the guitarist?”
That’s Jimmy Page. God of Rock. Massively influential. Ridiculously creative.
You write the verse/chorus structure. But leave room for instrument solos which are to be improvised. Like Jazz. Most common are guitar solos. Then keyboards or synths. Rarely you get drum or bass solos.
It's about the Viking invasion of England. This song has been in a ton of movies over the years.
We weren't being pompous ... We did come from the land of the ice and snow. We were guests of the Icelandic Government on a cultural mission. We were invited to play a concert in Reykjavik and the day before we arrived all the civil servants went on strike and the gig was going to be cancelled. The university prepared a concert hall for us and it was phenomenal. The response from the kids was remarkable and we had a great time. 'Immigrant Song' was about that trip and it was the opening track on the album that was intended to be incredibly different.[7]
Above I included Plant's explanation of how the song came into existence.
"How can they write a guitar solo like that" - Good sir, Jimmy Page is arguably the best at it. Almost all Zep tunes have either a guitar intro, solo, and/or outtro (if not all 3). This is "written" by pure feel for the song. It may interest you to know the great influences for Jimmy Page are the old Blues men of the 1920's and 1930's from the deep south of the US. The original black blues men that created such emotion filled songs. Written from deeply emotional lives lived. Led Zeppelin took their early inspiration directly from these legends and turned it into a rock-blues catalogue that is UNMATCHED. You cannot go wrong reacting to Zep. They are truly the GOATs.
I couldn't of ssid it better
The song that inspired Jimmy Page to pick up the guitar was "Baby let's play house" from the King "Elvis Presley." 😎🎸
"This song must be legendary." Bro, legendary isn't the half of it.
66 year old lady here. This music brings me such joy and goosebumps. Happy to see you with a similar reaction.
That’s funny I get goose bumps each time I listen to this . I was at their concert same year in Australian where this was filmed 🤩
"I've got a little headache"....not what one wants to hear right before you play the Immigrant Song! LOL.
My first thought
Hahaha I thought that too
LOLOLOL
This song inspired a lot of Viking Metal bands...yes that's a real genre, and Led Zeppelin pretty puch invented it here.
Viking metal is awesome
Y Plant es mi VIKINGO
These are the rock gods of my youth.
They are rock gods period
Yes they are. I got to see Page and Plant in 95 and 98
@@manwithnoname691 I saw them on the “Stairway to Heaven tour”. No words
Nunca los vi en conciertos, era muy chica
"Immigrant Song" was written during Led Zeppelin's tour of Iceland, Bath and Germany in the summer of 1970. The opening date of this tour took place in Reykjavík, Iceland, which inspired Plant to write the lyrics. He explained in an interview:
"We weren't being pompous ... 'Immigrant Song' was about that trip and it was the opening track on the album that was intended to be incredibly different."
Six days after Led Zeppelin's appearance in Reykjavik, the band performed the song for the first time in concert during the Bath Festival.
"Who's this guitar player?"
Internet: (grinding teeth)
Jimmy Page. One of the greats.
You guys are too hard on the babies. If they don't know they don't know, ESPECIALLY if they're black ( don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm black and I have sons this age). Someone has to teach them if they don't seek out the music themselves. So chill the f*ck out. There are more important things to learn than all things pop culture.
Did u expect him to know that? Lol
@@Sab_MJsMama How does your color have anything to do with what you listen or know ? Typical of american nonsense racism from my point of view but whatever you'll probably freak out because words don't make any sense to you ppl anymore.
Know what's funny? All of the replies in this thread are defensive, either of the kid or the music. But none of you noticed that this was a quote. Regardless of how you feel about it, it's hard as an older generation that produced so many legendary artists in the rock genre and political movement eras. I LOVE to see so many black youth on you tube these days listening to stuff that is admittedly(by themselves) way out of their norm or comfort zone. I watch several reaction videos of music. All are black. I'm honored to share these timeless realms of music with everyone of them. Some they like and some they don't... some even move them and even to tears. I cry everytime they do. I'm feelin that ish is all. #openingdoors #breakingdownbarriers
It should have 8 billion views because we've replayed it about that many times
John Bonham's drum beats have been sampled in numerous hip hop tunes!
His son is carrying on his legendary drum playing now and is phenomenal

Greatest rock band of all time.
Kashmir has got to be next brother (studio version) 🤙
Absolutely love to see a reaction to Kashmir.
Hey Youngblood!! Let this Old Guy (OG) Educate you on Led Zeppelin!! 4 of the great band members jamming together back in the Day!! Without going into detail Yet!! When this band formed by Guitarist Jimmy Page, he put together one of the Greatest Rock Groups of that time. 2 of the members barely out of their Teens!! Don't believe me? IF You Got Time, Please Watch one of their FIRST LIVE Performances!! Watch Led Zeppelin Live At The Royal Albert Hall 1970!! Also You'll witness one of the Greatest Drum Solos in Rock History!! You will have long hair and a denim cut-off before you know it 😂
"School of Rock", "Thor - Rangnarok", "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"...a few of the films that have featured this song
Back in our day musicians put a piece of themselves in each song. Good music always touch your soul on a cellular level. You feel the parts of each individual musician.
Love this song and its energy. Give the studio version a listen too
I believe you're thinking of Jack Black singing this in School of Rock.
I doubt he's seen that. More likely heard it in Shrek the Third or Thor Ragnorok.
One of my favorite scenes of all time

When I saw Zepp the first time, they came out kickin this tune. It was a grand concert for real!
Oranges, now you must hear them do "Tangerine" 😉 LOL
This made me laugh 🍊 it is a good song though.
The guitar player is Jimmy Page. How do you come up with a guitar solo? 10,000 hours of practice. But I love your reaction. It was genuine, and awesome for me to watch a young person listen to music from my era! Thanks!
I can't imagine not knowing who Jimmy Page is.
But, it’s fun watching them discover it. Jimmy rulz!
🤣me either 🤷♀️
Yeah, we can't imagine it, but the same thing happens with every generation. My Dad didn't believe I'd never heard of Thelonius Monk, and his Mom couldn't believe I'd never heard of Harry James. Same thing works both ways - I couldn't believe that neither of them had ever heard of Deep Purple or Black Sabbath. One of my friends has a kid who's into stuff I'm sure I've never heard of either. It's just lack of exposure - and videos like this are a cure for that !

Geez imagine not knowing something that was popular 30 years before you were born.... you're a f'n idiot.
Oh hell yeah!!! Led Zepplin is absolutely legendary!!! I always wished I was born much sooner to be able to see these guys live. Could you imagine???
"Who is the guitar player?" Seriously? There is only one Jimmy Page. John Paul Jones on bass, John "Bonzo" Bonham (deceased) on drums. Robert Plant vocals and harmonica.
Cut the kid a break he is only 18
Not enough time to do any research?
this was most recently used in Thor: Ragnarok in the beginning and in the end when he uses his lightning abilities on the bridge
Pieces of Led Zeppeling were almost symphonies!!!! What a power! 💪💪🎼
Of course you've heard it before. It's been everywhere, will be everywhere.
It is a part of life
This song was made after there wisit to Island, Is it about the vikings concour of England. Hammer of the gods is about the hammer of Thor (Thursday).
My favorite artists (no order) are Led Zepp, Fleetwood Mac, Biggie, A Tribe Called Quest and Foo Fighters. Trust me when I say when you embrace all music you find connections to songs/genres you’d never think you would find to love. Music has no race, gender, age attatched if you enjoy it you enjoy it🤙

If you haven't heard Stairway To Heaven, it is the Greatest Rock Ballad Of All Time!
Please pick the studio version.
Priceless!
@John Andrews, definitely Stairway to Heaven. You like the live version or studio? Me, I prefer the live version. "Anyone remember laughter?"
Check out Achilles Last Stand! It has a very galloping groove just like this one does. It's so good.

Like you said..."music paints a picture" that's why you hear these legendary songs /parts of songs in movies, helping to transport the person watching/listening to the time and place of the scene.
This music was created by SOUL power. All 4 of these guys in Zeppelin were kindred souls.... when they came together, the music just flowed!! When John Bonham died(drummer), so did the band.... They knew they could never recreate that connection... They were only a band for a little over 10 years(due to Bonham's death) but made what is considered to be one of the MOST LEGENDARY catalogues of music EVER!!!! You probably heard this song in "School Of Rock" w Jack Black and/or "Thor: Ragnarok". It's also been sampled over 60 times and covered and/or re-mixed over 40 times since the 70's (at least).... Great reaction!!!
Almost forgot.... Oranges!!!!
that's Jimmy Page on guitar, ne of the greats
Agreed. Its hard to say who the greatest really is due to their different playing styles. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen and Randy RhoadsAll GOATS
I love watching your reaction to these legendary groups. Thanks for keeping an open mind and appreciating the artistry of these musicians. I also love your Rush reactions. Keep the videos coming.
Think of a Viking ship headed to conquer new land. Jimmy Page on guitar, Robert Plant lead vocals (all the girls love him) and John Bonham on drums, he’s a legend, may he rip.
One of my fave Zepplin songs. Also love Going to California, which is more mellow, but great none the less!
Guitar solos: You write with music instead of words. Art flow through the media you are bonded with.
You heard this song in one of the "Shrek" movies.
All 4 members of Led Zep are arguably the best at what they do!
I think my favorite part was the look on your face during the guitar solo. "How?!?" Perfect. Reaction.
I just discovered your channel and I LOVE your format. Having the lyrics up, taking time to talk about how the song impacted you, everything. Keep killing it!!
Great music is timeless. It's wonderful to see a new generation appreciate Led Zeppelin 😎

Please do The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song...it is live from 1973!

@Julie Manarin, did you see the movie Song Remains the Same?
Check out The Who: "Baba O'Riley" or "Love Reign O'er Me". It is great to see someone respond in 2021 the way we did in the 60's and 70's. Enjoy the journey.
Yes that was in a movie with Jack Black called School of Rock
Well put legendary. Love the way you can see the pictures.
The lyrics are even more legendary! Worth reading.
John bonham was arguably one of the best drummers of his time. Easy. He played a CLEAR drum kit! So cool.
Oh yes... he should do something from Rush next!
It's cool that you put the words up on the things you are listening too. Great touch
You are the man! Great analysis...
Isn't it amazing that this is a live version. And there are only 4 people in this band playing. They were truly amazing in person one of the best concerts I ever went to
Excellent reaction video. Thanks. Enjoy the journey!

I look forward to moshing with you in the next big metal concert bro. Welcome to the fold!
I love your videos and reactions! Lol Keep vibing and rocking! Oranges! ☮
In My time of Dying by Led zeppelin man.You are gonna love it
A guitar solo is usually a variation of the melody.
"How do you write a guitar solo?" Well, kid, you don't! You just have a guitarist who's talented enough and at the right moment you let him loose and BAM! you have your guitar solo! ;-)
I was blessed to have been born in a time where music was absolutely fantastic. I can’t listen to today’s music as it has no substance or meaningful lyric’s. The musicians from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s were the best. They played the instruments, wrote the deep songs and all could sing without help or auto tune. I am thankful for today’s technology that allows us to connect to UA-cam and rewatch and listen to all of our favourite musician’s. Welcome to the fold Jojo! Thanks for sharing.
That's Jimmy Page on guitar!!
I Love the Studio version Played while Watching the ''THOR'' Action scenes., Drop Dead Awesome !!
When people say "different strokes ..." they are speaking truth - a musician, whether of instrument or voice, will always recognize the beauty and strengths of others art.
I love the Immigrant Song and I loved your reaction to it and your analysis.
The song is about Vikings bro.
I hope I'm remembering it right (because I am indeed old and senile), but you should watch them perform "Dazed and Confused" live. Jimmy Page plays his guitar in a very interesting and unique way at one point. I think you'll be quite amazed.
They are the best Rock band ever & are true Rock Gods. Keep listening, they were 🔥from the first song on their first album in the 60's.
Imagine being 16, rolling with my dudes in my 71 Mach 1, blasting this through Jensen 6 by 9 state-of-the-art speakers. That was pretty much my scene back in 73. No better time ever to be a teenager. Led Zeppelin was the soundtrack of my life back then.
Love hearing a Zep classic & love seeing Bonzo's old green sparkle Ludwig kit!
Jimmy Page guitar player. He also plays his guitar with a violin bow
Never mind your deserts. This is a Viking invasion. They came from the land of the ice and snow. Then all Hell let’s loose.
So thrilled you discovered Led Zeppelin, they changed my life after finding them also. You often ask for suggestions of other songs on par with these bands you are reacting to so try "Deep Purple - Child in Time - Live (1970)". I assure you it will profoundly affect you.
I'm so glad you're liking Led Zeppelin and the incredible rock voice of Robert Plant👍. Among the movies mentioned, this song was also used in the current commercial for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV - “Revolutionary” Arrival- Kudos to the marketing person that chose this song...It certainly grabbed my attention😉. I've always loved it, as well as ❤ most of all of Zeppelin songs. Proud to have been growing up during the 70's ✌
John Bonham on drums is INSANE! Just more excellence. Real musicians at the top of their game.
I always get the Led out when I need to cure a headache, great choice
Led Zeppelin is an expanse of music. Blues inspired, classic rock, with unsurpassed vocals. Recommend Babe I'm gonna Leave You, Whole Lotta Love, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir. There are so many more, but if you hear these you may understand classic rock.
