Check out Maddie's UA-cam Channel! / @maddielamar Maddie needed 3 landings for currency, so we took the Cirrus up. Check out "Maddie Landing in High Winds"
So neat to see father and daughter flying to gather. I did watch Maddie talk her way on the first landing, on her solo video, I did the exact same thing on my first solo. Great job Maddie keep posting these videos and looking forward to your IFR cert video.
"...she could wear a bin liner and still look beautiful" Hear hear, ha ha. I've watched daddy's video of her first solo flight a couple of times. Awesome
Great to see a new Maddie video - and that she had a chance to fly again - so much fun to watch - as for “airspeed is life” T shirts I’d buy one - I’ve been saying that a lot ever since I saw the Maddie’s first flight video
Nice job on the video and great flying. I had a Stratus with ADS-B in and out. Worked real nice. Transferred traffic to the Ipad very nice. The most supersizing thing was the actual amount of planes around that a person doesn't even know are there. Very handy tool.
Great job Jim, Maddie sure is coming along good since her solo which I've seen a couple time because it just impressed me so much how a young girl could solo that young. I have a friend that can't even get his 21 year old daughter to drive a car good enough to pass the road test so she is a gem. No matter what color her hair is....lol
I remember watching Maddie's solo video! I almost didn't recognize her when I ran across this video until I crosschecked your youtube channel. I'm with Liberty as well undergoing their Pro Pilot program with the GI Bill program. Had to take a break since retiring from the Air Force and moving to Washington state. Still awesome to see this father-daughter team flying together!
Looking great! I see a lot of proud Dad in this video! 👍 Loved the 150 hours in the last few months comment. Good to see you guys out there spending some quality time. You are a blessed man. Thanks for the video and Happy Thanksgiving to you guys. Stay safe, Bill in Utah
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. Wonderful quick currency flying. Great to see more of these longer flight videos on the channel. That 150 sounds great for a cheap training and flight hours platform.
love ur weather tutorials!! I'm too old to become a pilot but watch this stuff always. be safe .bravo! I am so amazed when uall shoot off all ur info to air traffic control in a few seconds all those digits etc and I'm thinking Ah WHAAAAT? ..Amazing!! love u guys!! press on!
Funny to reminisce about speed is life but honestly use that every time turning final after watching that solo video! Great advice, family, and flying, look forward to more videos!
My daughter is a few hours from soloing and, I must admit, about 50 of those million “Maddie solo” views are me :). Appreciate the videos and your contributions to aviation.....
Hi from South Africa. Nice to see you again Maddie... and SO glad you're still flying..!! I fly helos now (S 76) but if I ever get the chance to own an A.C for my own leisure, it'll be a Cirrus.!! It looks like a REAL hot shot and from what I've heard and read.. has great performance figures. Best wishes for 2020 and I'll be looking out for you and your progress - you're SO SO lucky to have a Dad and mentor like that..!!!!! 👍👍😎
Kimi Collier I flew for SAA from 1988 to 1999 ( the good old days). Have been in the USA ever since. I am a Captain on a B757 for a major cargo carrier now. Mooi bly😊
Wow, this is so relaxing and watching it helps reduce my anxiety about flying! Gives me hope on getting back on a plane again. Who knows, maybe I’ll consider pilot lessons! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the video, I enjoy watching and learning some things about flying and aviation. Watching you two and other videos of people flying is quite enjoyable, even though I will never be able to do any of this myself. Again thank you for the flying videos and Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Awesome video! Love to see you guys enjoying flying, keep the videos coming. The Cirrus is very nice by the way, nice upgrade from the Piper Archer Maddie soloed in.
Man, you take off so smoothly and you fly the centerline perfectly on landing, your hand moves intuitively on the side stick. Love the sound of that six cylinder power plant on takeoff roll. Well done and cudos to your Dad! You have a new subscriber here.
Well there is nothing better than flying with your daughter! Back when I was flying did the same in about every PA-28 variety and then the Diamond DA-20 and DA-40, the latter which was a dream to fly, well not so much in the post Sept 11 ADIZ airspace. Taught my daughters how to fly and they made great autopilots! Got my license at 17 out of what is now HEF and then flew out of JYO. I should of gone up in a Cirrus just to do some stalls to see how the dual camber wing handled. Liberty is a great school! I went to LeTourneau in TX and have great memories as my roommate had his own PA-28 and we did many hamburger runs 🙂 which was a great way to decompress from school. My then 13 Yr old daughter edited together this video for me as a best ever Christmas present. You can see in one scene I was just sitting in a fully controlled stall having fun. The DAs never broke from a stall like the PA-28s. The looking down still frame is Harper's Ferry. The wing on the DA-20/40 was also sleek and beautiful. ua-cam.com/video/VtF8wN5QklM/v-deo.html Keep it up and we'll maybe seeing your airline videos before too long. Congrats dad, I know how proud you feel. I loved the "don't get cocky" comment and yea its so true.
I was stationed at a pilot training base while in the USAF. I would get off work and drive around the perimeter road and watch touch-n-go's and getting great pictures. 🇺🇸
Maddie nice job on your landing. You will be a great pilot. Keep up the great job. P.S You are a very beautiful young woman. Love your hair in this video.
this is awesome. i won't comment on how beautiful the pilot is. she is pretty, but more, she is doing what she loves. dad and daughter....I love it. hello from C.J. love you guys. say hello back when you on the ground. love the video.
Ok...I'll bite, just subscribed and genuinely impressed with your daughters skill level at 150 hrs. My main interest though is that J3 Cub in the hanger! I had purchased and gifted to my Dad as his last fathers day (1986) gift, a 1947 J3, just restored from Frickleton Aviation N3461K. Dad was a 30K ATP Airline Pilot with 15 majors, no accidents, incidents or violations throughout his stellar career. Nice Father/Daughter stuff...Thanks ';-)
Nice flying. Must be nice to have all the room to make large patterns. My home airport we only got 1.7nm to work with or we'll bust class c airspace. it gets interesting with 5+ cessnas and PC-12 (or a twin) in a tight pattern
boy has Maddie gone from a girl to a beautiful young lady now... the way she loves flying I would have thought she would go to Emery Riddle in Daytona. Airspeed is Life would be a great tee-shirt for Solo's if you made it with an extra long flap on lower rear with dotted lines stating cut here...lol next video I catch she may be working flying right seat to you dad...Thanks again for sharing
Embry Riddle is a great school. It is the most expensive way I know to get to the airlines though. Right now, you need a college degree in ANYTHING and 1,500 hours. Regional airlines will be lining up to hire you with a huge signing bonus. No need to spend $200,000 to get there. It can be done for much less.
Just stumbled on your channel. Maddie is stunningly beautiful no matter her hair color. She's about the same age as my stunningly beautiful daughter Montana-Rose. Both of them would look wonderful in paper bags or bin liners! So glad Maddie's got the flying bug. I've always wanted my girl to fly too, but she has other creative interests, and I can't afford it. Great greaser landings Maddie, and good to see your eyes always outside. Great communication between you both. Love the Cirrus and also the Cub! I've a dusty stale CPL, but was never able to get that job some 20+ years ago, so am now land locked doing tech work. Would one day love to get current again as I miss flying everyday. Keep a lookout for Kevin and Jamie (310Pilot) from Aurora, who also fly around IL, Burlington and Lake-IT-Hills. Would dearly love to someday come to the US. Cheers from way down in the South Pacific islands of New Zealand. David. :)

Thanks for the support, Joe! It’s never too late. You should at least go on a “discovery flight”. Most flight schools will take you up for 30-45 minutes and let you fly to see if you like it. Check out “Quinn’s first Solo flight” if you get a chance.

I did take your advice and subscribed! Look forward to great flying videos and some laughs. Be interesting to see Quinn get started. You are getting enough subscribers now you may regret it! LOL
One of my resolutions this year is to get my PPL its so darn expensive but realized I spent money on yoke and joystick and an entire PC.Might as well spend the next set of money on the lessons. Will be the first in my family to start this journey
Don't start unless you have the money. It's better to save up and do it all at once. The biggest obstacle to getting your license is money. You'll probably need about $10-12K. Fly 2-3 times per week until you are done. I bought a Cherokee and taught my daughter to fly it. We sold it for a little more than we bought it for, so the license was close to free. You might look at buying a Cessna 150 and paying an instructor to teach you in it. Those planes are holding their value, so you should be able to sell it without losing any money. That's the cheapest way to go. You can probably get your license for just a couple thousand. Good luck!
I did some advanced stall/spin training in a 150 aerobat. It was a lot of fun. However, my 250 pound father did a check ride with a 6'4" CFI and they were overweight in a 150.
Man, do I wish I had these opportunities when I was that age! She'll be a 5-figure-hour seasoned pro by the time she's my age.😎 Oh, and I'm from MA - I feel taxes EVERYWHERE around here. They roam in packs, waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting wallet. We do the same, and head north to "Live Free or Die", NH to spend our money. 😁 Great video! Love the Cirrus - real nice! Loved the commentary, too - I was rolling a few times! 🤣👍🍻
I wish I did too! I always vowed that I would get my kids flying early if I could afford it (and IF they were interested). I was dying to fly growing up, but I had to wait until I was 18 and could pay for it myself.
It's one of the most ergonomic airplane out there. There is an arm rest molded to the side door. You place your arm on it and your hand is right where it needs to be for the yoke. Your arm is positioned perfectly in a supported position.
@@quinnjim Makes me regret not starting when I was Maddie's age - the Cirrus looks nice. I have a few hours in a Chipmunk (DHC1) and a Sukhoi (aerobatics), but in Australia it's so damn expensive.

Love to watch her fly. She is growing up fast. Proud dad for sure. Nice to spend time together doing what you both love to do.
A great thing to watch more young ladies in aviation. Good job dad and great job Maddie.
I'm envious of their great relationship. A clear lesson, if ever one was needed, not to overdo adolescent spankings or the dark broom cupboard.
I’ll never forget my training days flying small planes. Loved every moment!!
THANK YOU BOTH FOR SHARING TO ALL OUT HERE IN YOUR BACK SEAT, THANK YOU BOTH, FOR THE GREAT TEAM.
People learn to teach your kids "something" and you will be blessed, true blessings comes thru family involvement.
Amen.
James Harvey just like my dad, he taught me crap.
..........they were suppose to teach us something ?
It doesn't matter what hair color Maddie has, she could wear a bin liner and still look beautiful.
